We made appointments with their office and informed the office my kids' birthday information. After waiting for 3 weeks, the office lady Christina informed us the same day of our appointment that the dentist is not present at the office, and the doctor whom we scheduled the appointment with is an orthodontist who does not see patients under 7 years old...They knew we do not have any kids above 7 years old on the first day we made the appointment. They let us wait for more than 3 weeks just to tell us that the appointment had to be cancelled, despite that we have repeatedly stated over the phone the need for our children to do a routine dental check. Christina lied about leaving voice messages and calling us a week before our appointment, which were totally untrue after we checked and searched our call/voicemail history. Christina demanded the cancellation of the appointment (or re-schedule us for another 3 weeks) while I still nicely described our kids dental care needs. She didn't listen, and she commented "I think you don't fit for our office. You need to go elsewhere." at me over the phone. Absolutely no apology for creating this inconvenience while she could have cancelled or reschedule the appointment weeks before, or at least inform us that the appointment was impossible right away when it was scheduled. The patient care service attitude made us completely lose the confidence in this dental office. We understand sometimes human mistakes or miscommunication do happens, but her offensive words "not fit for the office" and "go elsewhere" are totally not appropriate.

I am an adult with a professional job that requires a lot of public speaking so I got lingual braces on my upper teeth and regular pearl colored braces on the lower teeth. I did quite a bit of research before I decided to go with Boston Orthodontics in Waltham (I visited 5 diff places in Newton, Davis square, Cambridge). Make sure you do that because it is crazy how every doctor has different opinion about your teeth and what steps to take. The price is different too. (this place offered the best price/quality) Set your priority. I wanted to find a doctor who is precise, and detail oriented. Also I wanted to be closer to my place as you will end up going there a lot more than you think you will! I am so glad I made that choice. Once you visit and get your consultation, you will like this place. It is clean, nicely decorated and interior is very Scandinavian bauhaus style. Staff is really nice too but I think the girl helping with appointments could be more friendly. I have had more than my fair share of dental issues. Many of the procedures are routine or systematic. Orthodontics, particularly pre-surgical orthodontics, is incredibly complex. The dentist has to envision what the oral surgeon would like to see, get it to that point, and then handle post-op processes. At every step, the team at Carvalho and Roth excelled. The surgeon was happy and the outcome is better than I could have hoped for. My case was particularly complex. If you are here, I hope that you do not have a case like mine. If you do, they know what to do and how to do it. If it is easier, you can expect excellent results. Their staff are fantastic. Every time I had an emergency (and yes you will have them), they saw me within 1 business day. Most of the time it was to get wires clipped. Braces suck. They make it better. I really can't give them enough praise but if you need it done, they can do it.

The MD seemed good, but the front desk staff was rough to deal with and insurance submissions always required a lot of handholding. They have gotten so much worse. We have had 3 different doctors in 3 years, and the desk staff are incompetent - they don't even have the right gender in their system for my son, which I have tried to correct repeatedly. Instead of submitting claims to insurance, they ask us for payment. I have had to hand hold every submission to insurance. I cannot wait to be done with this office and do not recommend.

In the past one of my children had a dental emergency, Dr.John was able not only to see her same day but he performed an extensive task immediately on site. In addition I feel that the front girls are very good, they always handle any issues I have quickly and accurately. They go above and beyond offering plan explanation as well. Recently when changing dental coverage they went ahead to print off my entire policy coverage. The girls took the time to both show me and explain exactly what my new plan covered. Additional dental expenses are never really good news for parents (and my son has a developmental disability, which means any kind of medical visit is potentially problematic for him). We found EVERYONE at Lakewood Park to be very sensitive to my son's needs, ALWAYS welcoming and extremely professional, and the cost of care to be very reasonable. My son actually enjoyed visits to the office (there are video games for kids in the waiting area, which was a treat.!) and the wonderful staff was always so nice to him that I think he considered it a visit to see some friends who "just so happened" to also be interested in his teeth! I visited last week for a second opinion on veneers. The whole process was smooth and extremely…read moreprofessional. Their online Covid 19 protocol put me at ease to visit the office. I spent 30 seconds in the check-in area to wear new gloves, new mask, have my temperature checked, then 1-2 minutes with the dental assistant getting me ready to be seen, 10-15 minutes with the doctor, and 30 seconds to get me out of the building from the backdoor to separate me from incoming patients. It was one of the best visits to a dentist, no time wasted waiting in the waiting room (by the way, there was no one waiting in the waiting room either). I was seen by doctor Alaa Alwazzan, who seemed prepared and aware of my case and medical history. He gave me an opinion that I didn't except because usually doctor's never say no to cosmetic procedures, so I appreciated his opinion. He recommended Invisalign treatment if I insisted to close small spaces between my front teeth. Two things that can be improved. 1. They don't accept insurances, however, they can bill your insurance but You will have to cover the remaining amount that your insurance wouldn't pay. 2. There are too many forms to fill out, some online and some on paper, maybe because I am a new patient. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, honesty and I think they deserve 5/5.
