I went to Dr. Mouhab after a frustrating experience at another office and wasn't sure how much could actually be corrected. From the first visit, he took a very thorough and thoughtful approach, really taking the time to evaluate everything before making any changes. What stood out the most was how carefully he examined everything. He had me bite down multiple times, checking my teeth from different angles and paying close attention to how everything aligned. It was clear he wasn't just focused on how things looked, but also on making sure my bite and overall function were right. Every adjustment was clearly done with purpose. The level of detail made a huge difference, and the final result came out exactly how it should have from the start. This is the worst dental office I have ever been to. The office manager who handles the insurance claims is a flat out liar regarding coverages on treatments, and also is incompetent, not able to do any correct Insurance coding. She had strung my child along over a year, claiming the insurance company "changed" their system, so she was unable to bill "properly"... when really she just was incompetent. Lied to me the entire year before I finally called the insurance company myself and they told me that they had been telling her she was doing the incorrect coding and the woman refused. The insurance company is now investigating. WORST PLACE. You also will not find a single person that can speak English there. Parking is bad, and the manager is down right neglectful and inhumane. She had let my son's teeth rot with old metal and glue for a YEAR! The insurance company thinks she's crazy, because THEY WOULD COVER IT! She refused to do the correct coding! Firstly this review is based entirely on a consultation I had with Dr. Rizz. Again, I did not move forward with a treatment plan at Braces Place, so this review is not based on treatment experience. However, my interaction with Dr. Rizz made me feel too uneasy & I felt is worth telling. That said, take my review how you will: My case is a little tricky - I am 33yo with an impacted canine, so I still have a baby tooth. But before meeting with Dr. Rizz, I had already seen three orthodontists who gave me a 24 month time frame for my case. At this point, I was just shopping for a more affordable price. The staff, and especially the treatment coordinator, were lovely. The office is beautiful & aesthetically pleasing. But Dr. Riz was very impersonal, seemed to be in a rush, and had a very condescending/ arrogant tone not just towards me, but in my opinion, to the treatment coordinator too. Perhaps that is his character/ personality, but I am very outspoken and could see our interactions being a problem in the future. But ultimately, what made me uncomfortable was his treatment plan suggestion. He had suggested removing my impacted tooth and "simply" replacing my baby tooth with an implant. When I asked him why not just bring the canine down as other doctors mentioned, he kind of snapped at me & said that it could damage my teeth & even take five years to bring down. I was a little confused by his response. Would it damage my teeth? Or take five years? Either way, I was under the impression that his goal was to scare me out of that plan in order to take the easy way out. Again, I found it very odd that he was the only doctor that suggested an implant, so I did more research on him and his practice. The client reviews on Yelp and Google were very concerning. So were the articles. Still, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt... until I further researched how complex and expensive one dental implant can be. I was so disappointed that he painted an implant as a simple solution to my tricky case. Suddenly, the negative reviews made sense, and luckily, to my knowledge, no one ever followed up with me. This was my sign to pursue my treatment where I had initially trusted and felt safest. Braces place has reasonable prices, but I couldn't help but think that straight teeth are their only priority. I'm a few months free of my course of braces. I was fully caged for 15 months and did my 24/7 retainer for 3 months. It's been a journey. Grab a snack this one will be a little long... I initially came to the braces place bcz I've been insecure about my bottom crowding since I was a teen. My dentist recommended an orthodontist but I wanted someone a little closer. I've passed this location several times and decided why not. Had I read the reviews before going it's likely I would not have chosen The Braces Place. However, I didn't read them bcz for some reason it wasn't showing up on Yelp initially. There was a glitch in the location instead it showed Dr. Rizkallah's name with no location picture. That was fixed over the last few months and I digress. The other reviews are correct when they say you don't see the doctor very much. The Braces Place is kind of like the Ford assembly line of orthodontics. I say that with admiration. When you think about it an orthodontist goes to school for several years to learn about correcting orthodontic issues. Therefore, why should she or he waste time changing bands or installing the hardware? Assistants with proper training can do that easy peasy. Dr. Rizkallah does an assessment then the tech executes his treatment and he inspects their work to make sure it's done correctly. Anything major, however, such as a rotation, shaping, wire bending etc is done only by the doctor. Your consultation is $100 and will be deducted from your bill if you choose to proceed with your braces treatment. The office offers no interest financing and accepts Visa and MasterCard only. Treatment will run you roughly $3k-5k. Ceramic braces will cost you $5k. If you're paying in cash be sure to save all receipts. I opted for white ceramic braces (there is an up charge) because I'm vain and didn't want to spend a year-and-a-half not smiling in pictures. But you end up not smiling anyway LOL My ceramic braces were virtually invisible. Most people couldn't tell I had them unless they were really staring at my teeth. The first two months are tough. Wax and bracket guards are your friend. The guard can be purchased on Amazon for a few bucks and offers much needed relief when the brackets are scratching the insides of your lip. Also, sleeping on your side is difficult initially. The office is generous and gives you loads of wax and encourages you to come in for more if you need some. Eventually by your third or fourth month you've adjusted. By month 6 you won't need the guard any longer. There's $25 charge if you want your wires removed so you can have a cleaning at your primary dentist. You'll get a call from their affiliate dentist upstairs telling you you'll have to see them for cleanings bcz your dentist can't touch the wires but they're authorized to. Do what makes you comfortable. If you prefer your dentist simply schedule your removal and installation the same day as your cleaning. It's doable. It'll take the day but it's doable. See scheduling pic below. Wonderful doesn't begin to describe the staff. Dr. Rizkallah, however, can be a bit abrupt and moody sometimes but he's mostly harmless. He snapped at Camilla and I one day for giggling and talking about our dogs after my appointment. We were only chatting for a minute while I was putting on my coat and grabbing my belongings. I felt like I was being scolded by my dad and did not appreciate it. She was my hygienist for several months and after that incident I was scheduled with other random hygienists and never again with her which was kinda petty. It made the next few appointments awkward. I'll take efficiency over sunshine and rainbows any day. However, if techs are spending the majority of the time with patients building rapport and stronger relationships that lead to referrals and long-time patronage in a way he's unable to, why disrupt that? It makes a person shut down bcz they don't want confrontation but they also want to say "who the f&ck are you speaking to that way. I'm not your child." This leads me to conclude he hires a wonderful staff to compensate for his bedside manner/attitude. To be fair he corrects it and tries to be nicer when he's informed but it's difficult to feel comfortable after that. Prior to that experience I had nothing but great things to say about TBP. They were even kind enough to squeeze me in one afternoon to change my curry stained bands for my engagement photos. The long and short is there are many pros to TBP (no interest financing, free parking, t accessible, great staff, affiliate dentist of you don't have a primary you prefer, etc) and a few cons. I've had treatment here several years ago with Dr. Rizkallah. He seemed like the man at the time, but once I was in through the system and was set up with a treatment plan - things started going south. First of all, he claimed to be a TMJ expert, but did not address any of my TMJ problems. He does not have, or did not even use joint vibration analysis (JVA) technology to see where my TM joints are positioning when opening/closing my mouth. He just fit me in with braces and straightened up my teeth and said my TMJ problems will resolve once my teeth can touch at the back. I've been doing a lot of damage to my TM joints over the course of the years because I thought I was treated appropriately thru my orthodontic procedure with this doctor. I am now being treated for TMJ dysfunction with another ortho who has the necessary equipment to diagnose and properly see where my bite position should be, and once we find that sweet spot, I'll need to be fitted for braces again so that my teeth become aligned in my new bite position (where my TM joint is moving how it should be without damaging itself). Dr. Rizkallah also knew I had tongue training issues but did not refer me to any specialist (myofunctional therapist). I think where my tongue was positioned was effecting my orthodontic progress with him, which is why he brought up the tongue issue. My upper palate was narrow, so my tongue did not want to comfortable rest on the roof my my mouth. I needed my top palate expanded but not once did he consider me for expansion or consult me about it. It probably would have increased the time of treatment and may have been an incurred cost to my already set ortho treatment payment plan that he did not want to absorb. My teeth at the time was not shifting to the speed that he wanted in order for my teeth to be straight. So instead he shaved down the sides of my front top and bottom teeth and laced them up so that they would tighten and move inward to be more aligned when what I really needed was expansion as would be an obvious case if he saw how tight my tongue was resting at the top of my palate. Now I am being treated for expansion, and my current ortho has to figure out how to deal with the gaps between my teeth that Dr. Rizkallah shaved once I've been optimally expanded at the top palate. All because I did not receive the necessary treatment I needed for orthodontics. I do not recommend going to this practice for orthodontic treatment. You will not receive adequate time with the doctor as he overbooks patients and lets the technicians do a lot of the hand work (one time I had a bracket that was glued just fall out). You will probably not receive the level of care you need here as was in my case. I recommend looking for an orthodontist that looks at TMJ, Airway, sleep, and overall maxillofacial structure. If you have a narrow upper palate, then you will most likely need expansion so that your tongue can rest at the roof of your mouth. If you have TMJ dysfunction, you should have that treated before getting braces or you will live with tension headaches and jaw pain, and will most likely go thru another session of braces if you do decide to treat your TMJ issues later on as I am. His practice is more like a business that just slaps on braces and takes your money than a treatment center that would give you customized care to your specific needs and identifying the root causes to your issues. I bring my nephew here for treatment and it has been a smooth ride. Appointments are usually 15 to 30 minutes with some rare times requiring more time. Scheduling next appointment is quick and easy. I can already notice the difference the braces are making in his mouth and he genuinely enjoy coming here to get his adjustments which they cleverly disguise it as "color" change which is part of the allure that has him sold in liking his Braces. I was in for a rountine adjustment today (sidebar: no more teeth grinding from me - yay!) and it happened to be one of dr. riz's assistant's birthday so one of the girls baked a cake. Dr. Riz is friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. They even have free wifi in the waiting area. And I'm amazed that they can make a retainer in 24 hours. He must have his little retainer elves working overtime or something! Still, I cannot give this office 5 stars, because I've have had two issues with scheduling. The first one was when I showed up for my initial consultation and no one was there. Apparently they'd unexpectedly closed their offices without notifying me of the change. Then when I went for another consultation, they had scheduled me for a 20 minute check-up slot instead of a 40 minute consultation slot and I had to wait almost an hour before they could fit me in. Things went smoothly after that. They are very good about verifying appointments, so if you don't get a confirmation call, then do NOT assume that the appointment is still on, as I did. read more

I went to Dr Riz in 2009 for braces. Me: a person getting braces for the 2nd time, now an adult, because I didn't wear my retainers; feeling insecure every time my mom made a comment about my ever so slightly misaligned teeth; enough disposable income to want the best experience possible. Dr. Riz's office is meticulous and he comes across as a perfectionist. I think it is fitting for the industry he's in. The result: Dr. Riz was happy to oblige my request for braces behind my upper teeth (which costs quite a bit extra, yes), and to make the process of getting my teeth straight easy and according to the schedule that was promised. The braces are off and replaced with a damn fine looking smile. It took a little longer than expected- I had particularly stubborn teeth. Dr. Riz is also a perfectionist, like myself, so we hung on until they were exact. It was worth all the extra time. In fact, I'm so freakin' thrilled with my new teeth that I would have easily endured another six months to look this fabulous. I don't think I can remember the last time I was so pleased with a business, doctor, or any other service. Seriously, from top to bottom, Dr. Riz and his staff run a great practice. A run down: - Not that it matters, but his office is impecable. Clean. Modern. But comfortable. The office is also equipped with some seriously fancy equipment- cool xrays and schiz. - His front office staff are always courteous, helpful and generally lovely. I was never ignored when I went up to the desk, there were never any scheduling or billing issues, and they were very efficient at their jobs. - The assistants in the back are awesome. I saw so many of them in the last 22 months and not a single one was someone I wouldn't want working on my teeth. They were friendly, competent, sometimes funny, always careful. I hope Dr. Riz pays thems well- they are a key part as to why I feel so awesome about this office and my new teeth. - Dr. Riz is patient, funny and flexible. I have this issue with blood. Don't like it. Don't even like the word. I have a keyword I use to replace it when necessary. So, when Dr. Riz suggested that we needed to pull two teeth to get the job done I was a little bit horrified. Okay. A lot horrified. I started to tear up immediately- I'm that afraid of the stuff. He didn't even blink. He asked me what it would take to get me comfortable. And we worked something out. He opened his office two hours early for me so my husband could bring me in and I could have ample time to freak out while getting my teeth pulled. While he was working he and Husband kept me preoccupied with all sorts of silly banter and in no time at all, I was done. It wasn't even that bad. - Dr. Riz is also a bit of an arteeest. If one can be an artist in contouring teeth. It's amazing. I had seriously odd shaped, pointy in all the wrong ways, crooked, weird ass teeth. No more. In addition to being straight, they are now perfectly shaped. I never imagined that they would look this good. I go and get my retainers tomorrow- the last step in this process- so that will probably be the last time I see Dr. Riz and his staff. I think I'm actually going to miss them. Dr. Riz is AMAZING. Please do not listen to these haters on here giving 1 star. I live in Somerville and I drive by this place all the time. I have always wanted to get my teeth straighten, but I was DEATHLY afraid of the dentist (I haven't been in 8 years). but I finally went to the dentist to get my first cleaning/checkup and then afterwards called Dr. Riz. Which was the best decision that I have made in a longtime!! I wanted to get those invisalign braces cause am 30 years old and didn't want those mental braces that I saw my friends have in high school. So after my first meeting with Dr. Riz and he exam my teeth he told me that I wasn't a candidate for the invisalign which sucked, but he them explained why and told me about clear braces. I had a little hesitation about getting them but he said that It would only be 6 months. I was thinking " 6 months!!!! Yeah Right!!!!!! every person in the world who has had braces had them for at least one year and more! please my little brother had them for 3 years! but he insured me 6 months maybe less. So I signed on that dotted line. And am soooooo glad that I did cause now my teeth are great and it only took 5 months!!!!!!!! Throughout my whole treatment Dr. Riz and his Staff were soooooo nice and patient with me. He would always have a joke for me every time I would see him. He explained everything that was going on with my teeth and what he wanted to do. He has great bedside manner which was very important to me since I really hated and was scared of dentist. Went to Braces Place today to have my son's braces removed. Prior to this appointment I was placed on a payment plan to complete all dental work. After being in the office for over 30 minutes I was told I had to pay in full, because of the removal. Now I take full responsibility for not reading the contract completely but I was reassured by the office attendant that the payments were on a monthly basis. I was very disturbed by the way the office attendant spoke to me. " If you want the braces removed you can pay 300 without any retainers." I asked to speak with the Doctor. The office attendant proceeded to tell me that the Doctor is mean. My response was who cares. The Doctor comes in and I asked to speak with him by himself. I than said to the office worker " You don't have to worry he'll be ok and you can leave." The Doctor says " You can leave and I'll call the Police. Now as a Black man I take this as a threat. If I could give Dr. Ritz a bazillion stars I would... I had some fancy new gear added to my mouth and after going thru all the wax I owned, I suddenly realized it's noon on Friday and I was out. To anyone else they would say "no big deal" - but I'm a wuss and my mouth was already kinda hamburgery cause of the new "gear" I called Dr. Ritz and frantically said, I need wax, but you close before I can get to you - how can we make this work? After 5 years of meeting with many different orthodontists and dentists about my TMJ disorder and alignment issues, I finally found Dr. Rizkallah's office. He was the FIRST doctor to say that I didn't need to have any teeth removed. He was also the first doctor to NOT say, "I'm going to give you a $1200 spacer... and we'll just see where it goes from there." No other doctor could give me an actual plan of action for my teeth, until I came to Davis Square. Not to mention an accurate price breakdown and TOTAL cost (which was cheaper than 80% of the other doctors I've been seen by). Any pain and discomfort I have is just the reality of having extensive dental work. Otherwise, my experience has been flawless. The staff are very professional, knowledgable and well put together. Billing has been simple and there have been NO surprises. My tightenings happen in 30 minutes, including wait time. Anyone on his staff can answer any question you might have, about pretty much anything from billing and cost to the way your jaw bones fit together. I love this office, and would go back in a heartbeat if I ever needed any additional work. The commute from Rhode Island is totally worth it. read more

Dr. Rizkallah is truly a life-saver. I unfortunately started with an orthodontist that was affiliated with my dentist office and had a horrible experience there. Basically, the first orthodontist from Dental Services PC (who in fact was not board-certified) told me that I had a severe jaw alignment problem that only jaw surgery could fix. After wasting several hundreds of dollars, I finally did my research and found Dr. Riz, who told me that jaw surgery was absolutely ridiculous. In fact, all I needed was some old-fashioned braces to fix the problem. To make a long story short, I had decided to first straighten a few top teeth that had shifted slightly in the 10+yrs since I've had braces. Dr. Riz promised that he could have them straightened in 2 months, and exactly 2 months on the dot, they were corrected(!) using his own patented simple aligners, which are similar to those from Invisalign~ Dr. Riz is truly a man of his word and understands that adults seeking orthodontic help still have jobs where they have to be presentable. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Riz for any and all orthodontics~ read more

This place is a factory. The Doctor is a salesman. The staff seem robotic. The excellent Yelp reviews are what brought me to Orthodontics at Davis Square in the first place. I am so perturbed by my experience and the fact that I was led there by the adulatory yelp reviews, that I feel obliged to write a review that reflects my less than satisfactory experience. During my consultation with Dr. Rizkallah I felt talked down to and patronized. He has a kind of performer's approach to orthodontics, he uses extravagant lingo and the office has many motto's regarding service, quality, and the "awesome" final product much to the detriment of the quality of their services. My personal attitude towards Doctor's is not that I need to feel I can become friends with them. Instead, I am satisfied when a Doctor is knowledgeable and demonstrates expertise- not through boasting about the quality of the service I am about to receive and how high his/her standards are, but instead by answering my questions even handedly, giving me a sense of multiple options, and then the Doctor's personal recommendation. Dr. R was over bearing to the point that he told me that he couldn't help me if I wasn't willing to have the treatment he was offering. I need braces for a minor orthodontic problem, this is not cancer, and I do not believe that kind of bullying or confidence building measure is necessary for my case. For those people who enjoy Dr. Rizkallah's lively, over confident style, I would urge you to consider getting a second opinion. Doctor's should not be salesmen, business should not be a huge part of a Physician's practice, if it is, be wary and consider getting second and even third opinions. A note about the decor of the place- it is basically the McMansion of Orthodontic treatments. Tasteful? Depends on your taste. A last, surprising disclosure. I went to Dr. R for a second opinion. His treatment plan was in fact shorter by a year, but the treatment price was only 1500 dollars less. So price is not a reason to go here. The medical profession is providing a service that has to do with our health and well being. I take this seriously- as a patient whose orthodontic needs are not cosmetic- and who has jaw problems as a result of bad orthodontic work from childhood. Always get a second opinion. read more

I love Dr. Riz and his team. Experience: Dr. Riz is very professional and always ensures the highest quality of service. His team is super friendly and also does quality work. The only "negative" my friends, who has also seen Dr. Riz, point out is how he underestimates the duration of the work. Personally mine took 6 months longer than he initially predicted, but I didn't mind especially after I saw the results. Here's the thing: Dr. Riz is a great person and I truly believe he means to do good. He also seems to be a great Orthodontist. However, my main issue with his practice is that he seems to have too many patients and he often forgets what he needs to do/what he has done last appointment. My treatment was for around 1.5 years and I've noticed a substantial decrease in the quality of the service in that time span (again, in my opinion, as a result to too many patients being seen by one doctor). The practice feels like an assembly line. You get in, he sees you for 10 seconds, then leaves. He comes back for 10 more seconds, checks the adjustments, then you're out. There are usually around 5 patients there with you, so he jumps from patient to patient (there is less in the morning hours). There have been a couple of times where he wanted to remove the braces earlier just because, in my opinion, to finish treatment in the projected amount of time. I had to remind him that he needed to do "x" (adjustment in one area in my case). Other times he refused to believe me when I pointed out that there was a gap or other problem, until I had to actually prove it to him. After we reached the projected time of the treatment, I just felt rushed. I felt like he wanted me out of there as soon as possible. Maybe that's not what he wanted, but that's what I felt like. It looks like the marketing strategy worked, but I don't think it's healthy for a business to sacrifice service quality for higher patient count (more profit). I know Dr. Riz doesn't feel like his quality of service suffered, but I've definitely noticed the difference. Again, I think he's a great orthodontist. Nevertheless, he really needs another orthodontist there with him to help out. He's not a robot, I understand. But like I said, there was a substantial decrease in the quality of service in the year and a half I've been his patient. As I've experienced, it's not advantageous to have one orthodontist take care of hundreds of patients per day. It's going to leave a lot of stones unturned, which could have potentially improve treatment for that individual patient. I could see a 5* rating in 2008 or 2009, but with the decrease of service quality corresponding with the higher patient count, I cannot give a higher rating. Again, I just felt rushed, felt like Dr. Riz didn't really care about my end result (he probably did, but I just didn't feel like he did) and he occasionally forgets some major fixes. I would give this a 1* if I didn't believe Dr. Riz is a great orthodontist (which he is). Would I recommend him to anyone RIGHT NOW? Probably not. I would look for an orthodontist that's more one-on-one and listens to his patients. An orthodontist that's not rushed all the time. An orthodontist that doesn't have to deal with hundreds of patients per day. Would I recommend Dr. Riz if he ADDED another orthodontist or two? Probably. Don't get me wrong, this review is NOT to insult Dr. Riz in any way. He's a great orthodontist. It's just that the high patient count takes its toll on the entire service, whether you notice it or not. I believe once he has less patients to worry about, he can be closer to his patients and hopefully, the feeling of forgetfulness and rushed treatment time will be concluded. read more

I came to Dr. Rizkallah because I was unhappy with the results I had gotten from another Orthodontist closer to my area. I had heard about "lingual braces", the ones that go on the inside of your teeth--so that they actually ARE invisible. I am an adult and I did not want visible braces. My prior orthodontist said that there was nothing more they could do, two of my teeth would always be slightly crooked. I live quite far from this office, but I figured I would make the trip to see if he could help me get better results. I went in for a consult. I was QUITE impressed with the office set-up: the high-tech equipment, and the huge TV and internet in the waiting area, (but really, that's all irrelevant). Dr. Rizkallah told me that there was no good reason my teeth had to stay crooked, and that he could fix my problem and get me the results I wanted. The price was very reasonable. I decided to go for it. He has a great "bedside manner" and he was ALWAYS in a good mood. His staff was very helpful, nice, and knowledgeable. I get anxiety being in the dentist chair, and he was always making the situation light and relaxed. I actually looked forward to making the trek there! I recently finished my treatment, and I am so pleased with my results. My 2 "problem" teeth are NOT crooked, like my prior orthodontist said they would have to be. I'm not happy that I had to pay for braces twice; I wish I had just gone to Dr. Riz the first time!! Live and learn, I guess. On a side note: another thing that I thought was pretty cool is that on the website, he gives kids the opportunity to do a good deed and write about it, and he gives the winner an ipod or free braces. Came here to get a retainer replacement. The staff is friendly the facilities are nice, quick turn around, and the retainer is ok. My only gripe is the assistant that did my impressions did a number on my mouth after having to do the impressions 6 times (2 for the top, 4 for the bottom). She was clearly inexperienced, but she was pulling at my lips so hard she actually tore the tissue. Now the sides of my mouth hurt. My suggestion would be to have these inexperienced personnel supervised until they can handle daily business on their own. read more

If you are planning to get consultation from this place, make sure to ask if they have free consultation? If you happen to go there in person, they do have a sign that says free consultation. If you don't, they will charge you $100 and justify the fee is for x-ray. Also, if you do pay, ask them to bill your insurance, some dental insurances cover portion of the fee if they get the bill directly from the dentist office. The doctor spent less than 10 minutes to give his consultation, he did it very hastily and he was a bit arrogant about his approach. I will not go back to this place for further follow-up. read more

So far, so good. I spent the last few months or so "shopping" for an invisalign orthodontist. For me, price was definitely a factor, but comfort level was more so. Why I like his practice: 1. The entire office is spacious, which for me, is a definite plus. I don't like feeling like a sardine and getting too close to other people. 2. His office is extremely clean. I have a problem being in a dirty grocery store, let alone being in a dirty place where someone is going to have their hands in my mouth. 3. The front desk staff are prompt, but are not overly friendly. That's okay though, I'd rather them be real than wear a fake smile. 4. They have absolutely amazing financial consultants who definitely go above and beyond. 5. They are reasonably priced. 6. Dr. Riz is honest. If he doesn't think a procedure is right for you, he'll let you know. At the same time, he does take some risks, which shows confidence in his work. He knows what he's doing. 7. They have multiple finance options. You can even pay them directly over the course of your treatment. After doing research, I would stay away from CareCredit, though. If you need more time than your treatment, and your credit score is good enough, I'd say either take out a loan or open a low interest credit card with a high limit (it'll help your score in the long run anyway). This is what I'm doing. 8. Country music plays on Fridays. Enough said. Before finding this place, I couldn't find a single place I liked. I first went to a place in NY before coming to Boston, and it was too dirty for me, although reasonably priced. I then checked out a place in the middle of Boston, and I wasn't a fan of the orthodontist. She was nice, and has decent ratings, but there was something about her I didn't like. (I am female, I am not sexist). The second place I went was a joke. Once again, good ratings, but without giving too many details, I felt like a serious outcast. It was also small, and wasn't necessarily inviting. He got pushy with me when I told him I was going to shop around. He told me there was no way I would find a better price or shorter treatment than he was offering. Guess what? I found both. Plus, I had to pay for my retainer afterwards. I had gone into this place after never having seen an orthodontist before, but I'm glad I did. I decided to ditch the smile direct club aligners after a few days for lots of reasons but mainly for fears that they would do more harm than good. But also because I didn't want to start a treatment plan until seeing an orthodontist and hearing what they had to say in person. I walked in having my heart set on Invisalign, but I was surprised that I was not a good candidate for it. Ludmilla took my x rays and photos with a digital camera, and she had started to soften the blow a little bit by letting me know that I'd probably not be a good fit for Invisalign. I had a class 2 malocclusion, which was more severe than I anticipated and would require the traditional brace set, and I could opt for ceramic. Dr. Riz was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. I spent a good amount of time discussing with him and got a good amount of personal attention. He definitely validated my decision and made me feel good about stopping sdc treatment. I was a tad disappointed about not being able to do Invisalign. I appreciate his candor because some orthodontists would oblige anyway to what the customer wants, and sell the Invisalign package anyway with a higher price tag. Rather than thinking about short term convenience over the course of the treatment, Dr Rizkallah recommended his vision of what was better for the health of my mouth long after the braces come off. This guy also makes his own aligners and had earned a degree in orthodontic materials. Ethics are important to him and while he doesn't tell you what you want to hear, he will tell you what you need to hear which I do appreciate. That should be the attitude of most healthcare providers. My treatment will be 12-14 months so there is plenty of time for reviews about the process later. But I wanted to write about my first impression which is pretty important. I had read the other yelp reviews before going in but I didn't experience any negativity. What I wanted I got, which was a full honest evaluation and assessment. My only regret is that I wasn't prepared with more questions. Since I thought I was familiar enough with Invisalign I didn't count on being recommended for ceramic so I wished I had done more research on that before I arrived. read more
