I just finished a mediocre breakfast here. We ordered toast-did not come buttered also ONLY had grape jelly instead of a selection, grits-unseasoned and un-buttered, pancake was okay-ish not great tastes like a Sysco pancake mix. Generic. French toast was also just okay-ish. The syrup came in little prepackaged tubs-no real Maple syrup here. The hash browns were fine. Scrambled eggs were okay if I mixed them with grits and hash browns. Service was horrific-are server was so slow and we waited over five minutes for the check. Seems smol but have you sat at a table for five minutes past the time you wanted to go. It's awkward. Seems to be adored by the locals tho. I'm a tourist and will go to the Black Water Cafe next time. Also, my partner and I were treated poorly by our server when she saw we were a lesbian couple. She barely spoke to us, threw our menus on the table and stalked off. She then refused to serve us and got another server to take the table. read more

We stop here on our way Home from the beach. Just looking for some eggs & coffee . We were seated quickly and our order taken and delivered fast .. the scrambled eggs that were served were wet and cold . Also , while drinking coffee sometime slimy slide out of the cup and into my girlfriends mouth . We both almost vomited right there. Managements response lacked all customer service experience. I have been here many times on my way to OC. The last time I stopped in I had the worst Reuben of my life. Chalk it up to a bad dinner, every place has one once in awhile. I brought my wife here tonight and ordered the Cowboy Ribeue med rare.... it came our well done shoe leather. I sent it back and just ordered a burger with blue cheese crumbles, med rare...it came out mad well and with blue cheese dressing... I let them know I didnt think I should have to pay... they won the battle but have lost the war. I will never come back. I dont recommend you patronize them either. read more

So what is going on? If I didn't historically like the diner, it would have been 1 star. Went for breakfast on a Sunday. Sunny side up eggs were delivered as over easy ... and cold. All food was luke warm. Okay, they were busy so give them a pass. Went back for dinner a month later. Chicken tenders were small ( new vendor?) and one was raw in the center. They apologized and provided a dessert. Management is letting the restaurant slip to less than mediocre. Let's get it together, diner! You are better than this. We have been coming to Cambridge Maryland for several years. This was our second visit to the diner and it was much better than our first time. We went for lunch over the weekend and we were probably seated. My dad got the senior beef liver and onion special which she enjoyed. My mother and I both got the cheeseburger. Which was quite good. Let's start with the pros - the food was prepared fresh and the price was decent for the amount they give you. I ordered the crab cake with kaiser roll sandwich, but the kaiser roll was a bit dry. The amount of crab cake was generous and it was enough for two meals. You can either choose the salad bar or soup of the day - I chose the salad bar. However, the salad bar had flies surrounding it and resting on top of the tongs... Which made me felt iffy to eat from there. The irritating part were that flies constantly flew around us trying to get in our food throughout our meal. I would say the diner should use food covers for their salad bar and take care of the flies in the restaurant. Overall, cleanliness is the only issue. Service and food were great. read more

Family owned gem tucked away on the eastern shore right off route 50. It looks like it is here forever and looking at the menu it seems like it is as American and as ancient as it gets. And then, the news clippings show, that an immigrant from Turkey that loves the country and his work (makes one wonder whether some political ideas of 2016 are really smart....). We had breakfast several times, where we enjoyed the local specials such as scrapple or omelette, but as well dinner, where a great Philly Cheesesteak. All done fresh, all done as ordered. I salute the family patriarch, and now his son who's taken over. There's more to a restaurant than just food... The parking lot says a lot: work trucks, mini-coopers, motorcycles--a wide range of makes and models. The lunch and dinner menus are solid; a mix of throwback meals and modern dishes. Never tried the salad bar. Always eat here in the warm weather months; part of my summer ritual. Some of the sweetest wait staff I've come upon. Was staying in the hotel across the street with our baseball team and decided to come here for dinner on a Tuesday. We had a party of 20 and was seated right away when we walked in the door. Was surprised by all the seating available. We had the whole room to ourselves. Some of the party had breakfast and some had dinner. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and service was great. Such a disappointment. I had the meatloaf, which was just okay, but it was covered in fake gravy. The serving of mashed potatoes was a single ice cream scoop. As inexpensive at potatoes are, you would think they could be a bit more generous to make the plate look full. Cole slaw and fries were generic. Our daughter had a burger with "two sides." Who the heck serves coleslaw in a condiment cup, what is that, two ounces? Crab cakes had good flavor, but were small and had a lot filler. Did I say the gravy was super gross? This diner is a staple of places to eat in Cambridge. I believe it is owned by the same folks who own Easton Diner, but with a simpler menu. We were seated quickly on a busy weekday morning, and our coffee came out fast. Breakfast was served hot and fast, and the orders were right (in a picky eater, and everything is a special order). My biscuits and gravy were of just the right texture and flavor! The egg and pork roll (Taylor) sandwich was good, but the pork roll could have been sliced a lot thinner for my taste. We stopped on our way from Baltimore to Ocean City. My husband and daughter wanted breakfast and I wanted lunch. No problem here. We were all satisfied. I had liver and onions and it was cooked perfectly. My only issue was with the salad bar. The lettuce needed someone to go through it. When you have spring mix lettuce some of the tender young leaves turn black before the rest. I picked through mine but I can imagine another customer might be uncomfortable with it. Excited to find this little gem on our way home from Ocean City. Lots of choices and great Sunday specials. Salad bar was fresh and well stocked, tilapia was tasty, crab cakes were very yummy, and chicken and dumplings were just the right comfort food for our picky eater. We are visiting from out of state and stopped in since it was close to where we were staying. The food and service were excellent. Our waitress was friendly, efficient, and had a great sense of humor. I ordered the New York style Reuben on rye which was served open face with fries and coleslaw. The bread was fresh and grilled, the meat lean, and dressing delicious. The meal came with the soup of the day which I upgraded to the Cream of Crab soup. I am very glad I did. It was creamy, full of crab, and flavorful. My wife ordered the cold tuna salad platter. In addition to the tuna salad, it was served with potato salad and coleslaw. The portions were generous and my wife said everything tasted fresh and delicious. Just plain lousy practices as a business. The waitress said she would honor the lunch special (with smaller portions) during dinner hours...a few minutes later the manager came over and said he wouldn't allow her to honor the lunch special. Shame on them....when your employee says they will honor a special the company should fo it and then clarify the protocol going forward with the staff. Just ate at the Cambridge Diner while in town for work. Amazing! I had the seafood trap dinner special, which came with choice of salad bar or soup, two sides, and dessert... all for $20. The shrimp and scallops were delicious. My friend and I both got the bread pudding for dessert, which came with ice cream and whipped cream. I can't say enough good things, you must go! To be honest with you, we haven't dined there but we regret to miss an opportunity. We were driving from Ocean City to Columbia and decided to stop by for a cup of coffee. We loved staff. They are very cheerful and pleasant. We had dinner an hour ago but decided to pick up a couple desserts with coffee too. Eclairs were die for... Just European style. A cup of to go coffee made us to chat over 30 minutes but no regrets. We found a great secret there. We will definitely mark it as a stop point if we are in the area. Also, we forwarded the address to our fiends driving from/to Ocean City. Just a great example what staff can make for you... Good job! read more

Dont try the Tuna Melt, it tasted awful and unedible as if it was cat food. Spaggetti and meatball was just as bad but atleast it was edible. It came with ONE meatball that was still frozen. The chicken noodle soup tasted like it was from a can but atleast it tasted good. The sausage biscuit and gravy was not very good as the biscuit was soggy and didnt have a very good texture. The italian sausage omelete was the only thing i found to be good although the sausage was very dry Overall this experience awful and one of the worst place to eat in Cambridge read more
