Well, apparently, Shaun doesn't enjoy his job or at least to be fair is not a morning person. I went in there as I walked in through the back. He was walking out the front door so he did not see me. They have shelves if you've been inside you know where the candy is stacked up I'm pretty petite so I'm pretty sure that he could not see me. I was on the phone for five minutes that called disconnected and that person had time to call me back and by the time that Shaun decided to waddle back into the store coughing at me, I told him I've been waiting, and that I even went out and looked because I thought he might be in the restroom and he coughed at me and said I had only been waiting for five minutes. Which whatever I were customer service as well I get that we have our bad day sometimes. I wanted to get rid of some change so I had a dollar in quarters and I asked if I could pay with the dollar and change and put the rest on my card. He acted like this was the most inconvenient thing in the world for him, even though I had already separated all the money for him so I said never mind. I will just put it on the card. He took the card from me and ran it himself which I thought was an invasion of my personal space. I was just appalled at the rudeness not even not one. I'm sorry whether it had been two minutes five minutes 10 minutes 30 minutes. It doesn't matter. I feel in customer service. You should always apologize within reason. And he acknowledge that I had been waiting for at least five minutes. I doubt that this review will even get read by the owner or that they care but also when I asked her the receipt, he scarfed at me and laughed. I don't understand what was so funny about that. I don't know if he thought I was trying to make a life harder for him or something, which I wasn't. I just like to keep copies of my financials. Ok, 1/2 tank fill on the rental. 7 gal. Exactly 10.00 More for the same amount from last top off. Both were chevrons. The place was very clean. I think the owner has 3 personal custom cars in the service bay. No outside service work, fuel only. One car was a 700 hp super car. Nice if you can do it. read more

The service is Non-Existent the old man working was very Rude he has no people skills whats so ever. I can't believe they get business here. When you are in Cambria, there aren't many choices for gasoline. only Chevron on this end, and a shell on the North End. The Chevron is clean and nice with a teeny snack shop that is well stocked. Gas prices are high, and I'm happy to get gas in Cambria. I suggest you fill up before proceeding way up Highway 1 where it only gets even more expensive. The staff here at the Chevron were so pleasant and kind, I really noticed it. Even though my purchase was small, Carlos behind the register was as nice as you could ever ask anybody to be. Fill your tank before coming to Cambria. The gas prices are higher than anywhere I've seen in California. The restroom is nasty.

We had a slow leak on the way through Cambria and we tried to stop here to get it fixed. Unfortunately the mechanic who fixes tires was out but the other guy working was so kind in filling up the tire, testing it and giving us suggestions. He didn't find the leak but he was honest and helpful and asked for nothing in return. Really appreciated it. read more

As the reviewers state below, yeah it's expensive. But hey at least they leave their pumps on so you can refuel in the middle of the night! Their neighbors down the street shut off their pumps at night so in actuality I'd rather be able to pay a bit more for some 1am gas than not have any at all. read more

I was running out of gas at 3 in the morning, had my family in the car (baby and 2 toddlers). After some frustrating attempts to get gas, I was able to make my way up to this chevron. I literally had 5 miles left on the tank. Thank you very much for being the only gas station that left the pump on even though you guys were closed! Lifesaver! read more

I can't speak about anyone that works at this Chevron, because we came after eating dinner at Robin's (highly recommend, BTW) and just needed to pump some gas before our trip home the next day. I had my trusty $25 Chevron gift card, so by default that's why we chose this place over the Shell at the other end of Main St. No issues using the gas card. However, I have to say that the pumps at this gas station are the SLOOOOOOWEST in world history. I kid you not! It took almost 15 MINUTES to use that full $25...my god, it was practically painful, if it hadn't been so funny. Good thing we weren't in a hurry to skip town or gas up the getaway car! Oh, and as if the glacial pace wasn't bad enough already, another vehicle pulled up to anothe pump, and when they started filling up their tank, it went even SLOWER (which we didn't even think was possible, but were proven wrong). I just thought this was a funny story and wanted to share it with y'all. Maybe it's just an "after dark" phenomenon, but I would suggest giving yourself PLENTY of time to fill up if you choose the Chevron over the Shell in Cambria :) read more

ABOVE AND BEYOND!!!! Thanks David! My husband and I were in San Simeon and had a flat. The closest service station was in Cambria, we were able to get our spare on, but had just enough air in it to keep the rim off the pavement. We made the 6 mile drive to Cambria and came here with the hopes of getting our tire patched or replaced. The shop was closed and David was running the store. I went in and told him what had happened, he opened the shop and fixed our flat while we had lunch. David went above and beyond for us and we made it home safely because of his generosity. He didn't have to help us, but he did... This is one of the reasons I love Cambria, the hometown heart and the compassion for thy neighbor. Thanks again David! Warning avoid pump 2 not working properly. Told cashier that pump trigger is not working how it's supposed to. I never see check ups on pumps done at this chevron like I do at others. You can hear gas fluid pumping after a couple dollars or even $5... So it's a 50/50 you'll get your full amount of gas that you paid for. Services are good. Place needs improvement. Went to Cambria Chevron to get a tire fixed a while back after having had a slow leak on one of my tires for a while. It was getting to a point where it was very annoying to keep pumping the tire back to 35 lbs and it going down every couple of days. Decided to put "gunk" in the tire as a temporary fix; not a good idea. Well Larry cleaned up my tire and sealed it properly, for no more than $20. Which that job would have been worth more around $30. Few months forward, I end up having to pump air into my tires as the pressure kept dropping below a proper weight, but thankfully I had an electric air pump that was given to me by a friend; I pumped air into the one tire that was giving me trouble then decided to check with Larry, he took the tire off my car; said there was nothing wrong with it. But thanks to him I was able to have a peace of mind knowing there wasn't another puncture on the tire after he had fixed it a while back. While I was there, I decided to make an appointment for an oil change, cause it was about time. Took him some synthetic oil and a k&n filter I had purchased previously for an oil change, he used that oil which I was glad he did. (Which by the way, jiffy lube in San Luis Obispo didn't do that same thing after I had asked them to use my oil, to which they replied that they would.) lets just say, I'm staying local and away from Jiffy for things like oil changes. This place tries its best to screw over people who do not know a lot about cars when trying to get basic service done. We went in to get an oil change and also asked about some other issues with my girlfriends car. The older gentleman looked her car over and said he would call us. He called us the next day and quoted us an ungodly amount plus 50 dollars an hour for labor. I could see that at a garage from a car company chain, but not a mom and pop gas station and garage. He was just trying to screw her over for as much money as he could. We will never go back there again for anything major. read more

The mechanic here, David, was amazing! I'm on the road, pulling my travel trailer, just me and my dog on our way to Southern California from the Bay Area. The battery light comes on, so I pull in here, he checks all the fuses, and the battery, it was the alternator. He got it replaced and had me back on the road in the same afternoon. This place isn't much to look at from the outside and the angry looking chain smoking fat man in the service bay might be a turn off but this place sells the cheapest cigarettes in the county. They carry most popular brands and are easily .75-1.50 per pack cheaper than any other place in town. When you pump gas, where the nozzle sits is actually the activating lever and unless you lift up on it and prepay youll never get gas and just look like a jackass. read more

Actually from a basic car service standpoint, I have been really pleased the service here. It's hard to find decent car service in a small town, but I can rely on these guys to help me out. Fantastic Service! My car died and I had it towed to the Cambria Chevron. Dan and Larry worked the issue which turned out to be a squirrel chewed electrical cable. (the second squirrel issue in 2 weeks). With Alabama plates on the car and not being a local they could have basically charged whatever they wanted and I would have had to pay it. The gas prices are high in this town. On 4/27/19 I paid $4.99. I bought one gallon. Went to Morro Bay and paid $4.10. Saw a few other gas stations on trip. They were cheaper than Cambria but none as cheap as Morro Bay even though both were near the the 1 PCH. read more

Stopped here after driving from Big Sur. We had an 11 year old who needed to use the restroom. As we walked up, an elderly man who worked there approached and asked if we needed the restroom. We said yes and he gave us directions to a public restroom several blocks away. We said, "So we can't use yours?" He said no, pointed to a sign and said the restroom was for paying customers only. There were very few people there. The man was rude and appeared put out. Not a great way to met potential customers. Go to the Shell station down the street. read more

Horrible...if you like rude, overpriced service, this is the place for you. It's not uncommon for Cambria gas stations to over charge for gas by .60 per gallon, but it is uncalled for to be harrassed for using a credit card to buy snacks inside after just paying so much extra at the pump. After that experience last year, I swore never to return, but in a pinch I needed a tire fixed so I went there and the guy acted like I was putting him out by even approaching him. Rudest service guy I've ever encountered. Today my wife went there to get a tire fixed. After giving her the same rude treatment for even breathing his air, the guy broke a bolt and then said he couldn't fix the tire, then charged my wife $15. This place is just awful and no one in my family will darken their doors again for gas, snacks or repairs. read more

I was in town over a holiday weekend when I got a flat tire. I called on Sunday morning to see about getting it patched, and they said they were closed, but would be open the next day. This surprised me, but they assured me they were open. When I called early Monday morning, I asked the manager who answered the phone what time they open. He said in a very condescending tone, "it is Labor day sweetie." When I said I had been told that they would be open, he said "that's just the weekend guy, he doesn't know anything." I suggested as the manager, they might make sure all the employees know the correct information, he suggested that they did know, and that they're "young guys". He said that there were no garages open in San Luis Obispo county, and offered no apology for his employees mistake. read more
