We are visiting from out of town and yesterday our first full day here my battery died. I called AAA to send out someone to jump start the car. Jack from Cambria towing arrived to save us. He was very nice, professional and got the car started in no time. He did check the battery and it was time to get a new one. I usually buy my batteries through an AAA provider since there is a 36 month warranty. If I was home I probably would have waited to change out the battery but since we are on a road trip better to be safe than stranded on the road with no one to help. Ron is the best! We were getting the runaround from AAA for 4 HOURS! Stuck on the side of the road in the heat on Hwy 1 near Big Sur. AAA kept patching us back and forth between Northern CA and Southern CA branches. After calling back about 10 times we discovered they had cancelled our dispatch request without notifying us. They couldn't figure out where we were (despite telling them what call box we were located at). When my Covid Project car decided it wanted to live at the grocery store instead of in my garage, I needed a tow for my not-so-classy behaving classic car. The folks at Cambria Towing were there in a few hours (I was in no hurry and told them to put me at the bottom of their priority list) and carefully loaded up my convertable then carefully slipped it right into the driveway. My drive is no simple task because we are on a very steep hill making backing up a massive towtruck a big deal. They handled it no problem. The best part is that the folks at Cambria Towing are really nice, professional and CHEAP. $50 for the tow? What a deal! I made sure to slice a $20 tip into the drivers hand and let him know that I appreciated his skills. I hope his boss does not read this and want his half? hahaha. My motorcycle decided to stop about 1/4 mile north of Ragged Point. I walked to Ragged Point and called AAA. Bruce called and said he'd pick me up at the hotel there and told me not to walk back to the bike (pretty dangerous area to walk). He picked me up and drove me to the bike where he took great care to get it strapped on securely and without rubbing on the paint. We even pulled over a short distance later to straighten up the bike a bit (we loaded on a slope) and ensure the straps were solid. He was a rider and I appreciated that he cared for my bike the way he would care for his. He gave me great advice on some local mechanics and options that might get me and my bike home. Our car broke down at a gas station in Cambria on Sunday after a weekend camping trip. The attendant gave us Ron's number to call for a tow, and recommended calling Javier to see if he was available to fix the problem. They work together so Ron towed us to the shop and Javier was there waiting, he could immediately tell what the problem was. He called to get a part, sent his son to Morro Bay to pick it up, and had our car fixed in about 3 hours. So it was rock slide central. Well we hit one and started losing oil. So were stranded at limekiln state park after hours. Robert from Cambria Towing spent hours clearing rocks from the road to get to us, and hours clearing rocks again to get us to San Luis Obispo to a hotel. He was a real hero. He kept us entertained and we learned a lot about the area. And while I hope you never need a tow while exploring the central coast, if you do, call Cambria and ask for Robert. My car was crunched in an intersection and I was stranded. 911 called Cambria tow and Brett came to my rescue. He helped my mom move all my stuff from my poor Prius, stayed by my side while I called my insurance company, even holding down the paper I had to write on and helping me find my stuff one-handed. He must have stayed nearly an hour and then took my car away. The next morning we had to call the owner so I could clean out the glove compartment before my trip back home and he, too, was more than gracious even though he had to open up early. I've never had a bad experience with a towing company, but this was definitely the best I've had. I felt like they were angels helping me through a difficult and confusing process. read more

7/10/16 My pickup carrying my large camper broke down just South of Cambria. We called AAA and Craig responded. Unfortunately My AA insurance did not cover a tow. Craig called Ron the Owner and he responded to my location. He took us to Morrow Bay to buy a fuel filter and back to my unit. Again the fuel filter was not the problem and Rom returned with diesel to fill the filter and that did not work very well. With my vehicle barely able to move I was able to go an additional several miles and again lost all engine power at the side of the road. Shortly I saw Craig returning to Cambria and I was able to flag him down. This time I had him load my rig and deliver me to an automotive garage that Craig had recommended.
