Elijah came to my rescue today while I was stranded on the 99 heading home for the holidays. My car's fail safe was activated while I was driving in a 2-lane area of the freeway, there were barricades on either side of the lanes (no shoulders) and I couldn't reach a nearby exit before my car completely shut down. I created a huge amount of traffic, so I assumed that after contacting a local towing company, it would take a long time for them to get through the traffic and load my car. Elijah happened to be passing by in the traffic, and offered to help me off the freeway to wait for my tow truck. I was only 5 minutes from my car shop so he took me there before heading to his scheduled job. (We also coordinated with the tow truck that was originally called). Elijah definitely didn't need to step in, but he really went above and beyond to help out. He saw I was in need, and was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Good experience with the red bearded driver (sorry, forgot name). My truck overheated on the 101 freeway just past the NB Camp Roberts rest stop. I called and the dispatcher was pleasant, courteous, and polite. It was a Friday at 2:30pm. Was quoted $350 to get towed back to Santa Maria. Driver showed up about in about 40 minutes. It was not a flatbed. It was an old school tow truck that lifts up and carries just the drive wheels of your vehicle. If you want a flatbed, you have to specifically request it when you call. During the drive, I asked about the pricing and was informed the drivers work M-F 8-5 at regular time and the company charges a fee based on that, then take into account if they are going to still be on the tow after 5pm. After 5pm, the driver is paid overtime and therefore, the company must reflect an increased tow fee. The later the time, the higher the fee. If I had called earlier, my charge would have been slightly lower. If I had called later, the charge would have been around $450. Driver was cool. Not real chatty tho, kinda quiet most of the drive. Nice guy. Secured my vehicle good on the tow apparatus and was stable the whole way. Made it home safe and sound. Thank you Johnboys towing. read more

I blew a tire 25 miles north of Paso. Called AAA but didnt hear from them soon enough and from prior experience didn't expect them to get there for hours. Called Johboys' towing and Juaquin was there in less than an hour. He was smiling and mades my bird (in a cage) and I got in the cab of the truck safely. Then put my car on the flat bed and took met to get a new tire. It was just me and pretty scary on the shoulder of 101 with the big trucks flying by. these two employees showed up on site.. decided to shove my pickup 10 ft forward while in park .. also the wheel was turned out and the new tire was peel off the rim and also bent the wheel .. akso the same two guys backed up over a gate motor and smashed it. Theses two guys had deliberately caused the damages and left the site without disclosing the damaged property.. now I have major expenses and loss of income.. Five stars for Johnboy's towing with John (owner) and Jeremy for getting me out of the muck with a John Deere Backhoe, a Kubota Tractor and Toyota FJ Cruiser - all in the same day! Stupid is as stupid does as I was going through the vineyard and looking for any new squirrel or gopher activity as well as checking the status of the vines. My FJ cruiser got stuck on a side road - between the ag fence and a row of vines. First stupid mistake especially this time of year and our rainy season. No problem, get the Kubota tractor to pull out the FJ. Hooked them up and eased on the Kubota and got the Kubota stuck in the muck. Second stupid mistake. My neighbor has a large John Deere Backhoe and has taken out many stuck equipment, so he decided to help pull out the Kubota and the FJ. We got the Kubota hooked up and started to pull it out and then the backhoe got stuck in the muck. Third stupid mistake. I called Johnboy's towing baed on my neighbors positive experience with them previously in extracting a stuck garbage truck. (That's another story.) Called John and he set an appointment for the next day on Sunday. John and Jeremy arrived on time and professionally winched all three vehicles out of the muck with no damage to the ag fence or vineyard row or the vehicles. Amazing and not an easy task given the hill angle and unstable ground. True professionals and good guys. Don't be stupid like I was, but if it ever happens and you need a winch/towing service call Johnboy's Towing. Highly recommended. read more

After my truck broke down pulling my 44' 5th wheeler in Paso Robles Johnboys were called. Their truck was not adequate to pull my size 5th wheeler. The driver, who was very professional, agreed with me his tow truck was not able to take me where I needed to go without causing tremendous damage to my 5th wheeler. So he suggested dropping me off 1/2 mile up the street in an empty lot until my vehicle had been fixed. Given the short distance he said it would be wrong to charge me full price of $375/hr and would call his boss to at least request a discount. His boss, whoever he is, refused and charged me full price, $375 for a 1/2 mile towing! I would consider an alternative tow company before calling Johnboys Paso Robles, your wallet will thank you! read more

I was towed by them after an auto accident, the driver was nice and courteous. The problems came after they had my car on there lot. They charged me an outrageous price for 5 miles of towing. They said they would only let my insurance cover it if my insurance agent goes down there personally to pay the bill. They wouldn't bill them, which I personally thought was rude plus if she didn't come by before 3:45 they would charge me another full day even though my car had still only been there 1 day. If I ever need a tow I won't use them. read more
