Gas is so expensive, but this location is convenient for me to get some gas and to get going on the road. The service was very good...the cashier was able to help me with the WiFi so that I could get the map on my phone since I was unable to get any cell service. read more

So we were at Cambria mimosas and we asked Luis our server where we could get some last minute souvenirs. He told us to go to the Shell gas station. I was very hesitant at first because the gas price there was $5.80 a gallon. Yikes! However, the price of souvenirs inside is economical. It's not your typical gas station.They have everything and anything. I actually found some cute shot glasses for $2.99 and a magnet for $1.99. They also had hoodies, t-shirts, magnets, and even more. Indeed the 'cleanest restrooms'! We were coming from Hearst Castle in San Simeon to Paso Robles and Cambria was the nearest gas station in between. It's a gift shop, gas station, car wash and everything in one. This off the main street so gas is more. You can drive further into town to save a few cents but I bet the restroom won't be as clean. read more

Thursday the 15th of August I was extremely unfortunate to stop at this gas station before going to the beach. I went inside bought some gas and use the bathroom when I came back out to my car. My bag had been stolen out of my car that had my car keys, my wallet, my ID, my credit cards, my debit cards everything in it I told the manager on duty and two of the employees, who were extremely apologetic I informed them that I was going to call a AAA tow truck to come and get me one of the employees I did not catch. His name was very nice and recommended. I check out the pizza place in town while I waited so I did I then proceeded to come back to the gas station and went to the restroom. The tow truck was about 35 minutes away at this point and the manager Dana and the front desk employee at the time Luis immediately got in my face after I exited the bathroom saying "come on man when are you going to move that F'ing car, it's been here for 6 hours already!" (Mind you I arrived at the gas station at 3:05 PM at this point it was 5:57 Pm so I had only been there for just under 3 hours, not 6) keep in mind My car is a 2020 so I cannot move my car without the key fob and I was a victim of a crime at this gas station after I was a customer at this gas station. I told Dana I did not appreciate him speaking to me that way way after I was the victim of a crime at their gas station and they refused to show the camera footage to me so I could file a police report to get my stolen bag back. Dana continued to argue with me and followed me outside to my car where I began to record him. He then threatened the tow truck on me and I said go ahead because there's only one tow truck company in town and I was already waiting for them so rather than just let me wait for the tow truck that was gonna be there in about 20 minutes at this point they called the police on me Wasting the local places time money and resources I'll because Dana couldn't wait for my tow truck to get there to move me. I did not want to be there. I was trapped because I was the victim of crime at this station because I was robbed. I immediately called corporate shell corporate, the woman I spoke to was very nice. She tried to speak to Luis and ask him why they were doing this and why I couldn't just wait for my tow truck since it was on its way and I physically cannot move my car talk to her for about 30 seconds. He took my phone out of my hand to do so, and then shove my phone in my hands and walked away. Two other customers tried to stand up for me against Dana. He yelled at them as well, and they eventually left without purchasing anything when the cops arrived. The police literally laughed at Dana for calling them something so stupid. The police told me to pay him no mind and they retrieved the needed camera footage for a police report, something Dana lied about and said they were unable to access without the owner there, Dana even lied to the police about this too. I was finally able to leave as I wanted to from the beginning... DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, YOU WILL GET ROBBED AND THEN THE MANAGER WILL THREATEN YOU AFTER YOU GET ROBBED! Super clean restrooms and Cambria souvenirs for half the price of the gift shops in town, win win! Very glad we stopped here before leaving town. Perfect stop to use the restroom and pickup some snacks for the road. Just don't fill up here, their gas prices were quite high, which was to be expected. read more

They justify their heavy inflated gasoline prices compared to those in Paso Robles because this is a small town. My take: a higher income traveler demographic with no other options for gas for miles means it's gouge 'em time! read more

To be clear, I gulped at the high gas prices, thankfully my tank wasnt in need of a fill so I avoided the trauma of paying an arm and a leg for gas and headed inside. Clean well stocked with friendly cashiers. And the bonus was that the pricing was not inflated inside as you might expect. This shell in Cambria is one of the final gas stops for those going up highway one. Yep the gas is a bit more expensive, however I am thankful that they are here in the Village of Cambria. BEST souvenir shop/store in Cambria and San Simeon. I think they sell more travel momentos than gas They have got from everything to everything here. It's fun and the prices are over the place. It gets packed in there and it's fun "STUFF". You'll spend a bit of time in there; lots to see so don't tell your honey you'll be right back NOT. I never have reviewed a gas station but this is important info to know for travelers and tourists and their needs. For me it's stickers and I don't even remember else what so. If you have an a emergency situation....gas or car trouble and you're a tourist or a traveler, so what can you do when you get stuck?? Here you go/are. Let's hope it all works out. So on the way out, the way in, or the way up or down the 1, and you forgot your souvenirs, this place will take care of that situation. I had stopped at shell to a drink and then noticed clothes in boxes in front I pick up a red sweatshirt and a white tee shirt with no price tag was little dirty!! I then continued into to store got 2 bottles of coke and 2 bags chips went to register and asked how much the tee shirt was and $4.99 I said it should be free because of the dirt and light stains and I laughed then I said how about $2.99 and the cashier Jennie said $4.99 and I laughed again we could meet in middle at $3.99 she continued to say the item was $9.99 to start out but she now said $6.99 and I said I thought you said $4.99 yes but I am changing my mind I then said that was mean ! read more

Of March 17 I brought my regular soda & this guy name Mickey decided to charge me more for it for the smaller then I haven't been there for awhile & he told me it was new so later I went that same day to the one down the street brought the same can of Pepsi & it was .25 cheaper then the shell station so i ask my friend work at the shell station if it"s a dollar & he yes yes for the small cans & I know he doesn't need the money b/c he has another job too. Gas is super pricey, but if you have a gas emergency this is a decent place. Their souvenirs are the same as in town, however their prices are a tad less. I keep debating about their crazy bizarre yet cool sharks in a jar. Should I or shouldn't I buy this novelty??? The Shell station has a lock on location as it one of the last gas stations between Cambria and Big Sur. When I pulled in the price was not a deterrent even though it's much high then others in the area. My complaint is during these crazy times where we are in a global pandemic this owner has made pay at the pump not available! I swiped my card it didn't work, I tried again and it said I had to go inside! Inside seriously. They have the pumps set to force you to go inside because it also a little gift shop! Six women shopping souvenirs, one paying for gas and I didn't see a mask on all customers. I gave my number to my pump and then had to go back inside to pay! Ridiculous during these times. I want to report them to the towns government officials for not following safe practices during the pandemic. In an effort to sell souvenirs they are risking people's lives.
