I made a reservation for a party of 4: me, my best friend, her daughter, and daughter's best friend. The girls started uni here in Madrid and their apartment is nearby, so they have been wanting to try this chic restaurant.
We arrived a little early and the hostess was the most unpleasant. I mentioned the wrong reservation time and she just dismissed us. Then I showed her the email with the confirmation, then she said it was the wrong one and still couldn't find the reservation. Not sure why she couldn't find the reservation on her end once she saw my name and email address, but I found the email she was looking for. What was most off putting was her stinky attitude. It's not as if there were people behind us and we were holding up the line, so she could have been more helpful, or bottom-line kind, but no, she gave mean-girl vibes. (Disclosure: At the end of the night, she did say goodnight and thank you.)
Once she was able to do her job and find our reservation, we were seated at a nice table with booth and chairs seating. The ambiance is beautiful, and the service was fine. Nothing to remember, but thankfully better than the hostess. We ordered the burrata infused with cherry emulsion along with a bottle of Valpolicella Ripassoto start, which was accompanied with a warm roll. For entrees, we ordered the Iberian Carbonara, Oxtail Lasagna, Rigatoni with Beef Ragú, and Grilled Iberian Pluma. Again, the food was fine, but nothing to remember. We ordered tiramisu and chocolate cake for dessert. My bestie's daughter said it was the best chocolate cake. The tiramisu was not traditional, but still good.
All in all, for this price point, there are better places to eat in Madrid. If you're okay with mediocre service and decent food with a nice ambiance, then you'll enjoy it. I'd rather eat at the markets. read more
