I went to Calimingo for design services to envision a pool and accompanying entertaining space for our backyard. I worked with Steve who came out to the measure the space and to learn about our vision. In addition to our wish list, we sent photos of the kinds of features and aesthetic that we were interested in. His very first design knocked it out of the park -- like a personalized resort. The designs were fully 3D mockups so we could really understand the space. He then worked with us to refine the vision, tweaking and adjusting for cost and layout considerations, down to moving things around a foot or two. The final design includes all our must-haves, and at a construction cost that we can afford. I love that the designs allow for a phased build-out so that we can get our highest priority items now and prepare for features we want down the road (like running a gas line now for a future built-in grill). This gives us an affordable pathway to our full dream yard. Thanks, Steve! read more

Thank you for the amazing backsplash and making this look better! So excited to see the new look!

We had a great experience with Calimingo Pools, and Eric Doumani deserves special mention. He came on board as our project manager mid-project and immediately made a difference. He brought genuinely creative ideas we hadn't considered, kept everything moving on schedule, and made the inspection process smooth and painless. We had remarkably few issues from the moment he stepped in. If you're working with Calimingo Pools, you're in great hands with Eric. read more

I reached out to Calimingo after seeing a lot of advertisements about their Calimingo Express program. I watched many of their videos on social media and read the numerous glowing reviews. I am looking to have a small 10x26 pool put into my tiny backyard. From the beginning, I had the feeling that my project wasn't big enough or flashy enough for Calimingo to care. I signed multiple estimates before anyone would even agree to come out and take a look at my property. I repeatedly emphasized that my property was dramatically different than the last google earth satellite shots. When I got the first "design", it was the wrong size and didn't reflect my actual backyard at all. They basically just sent me a computer rendering of a random pool in a barren representation of my old yard. It felt like my small project was not worth the time to talk to me or send someone out to meet with me and take measurements or just take a look at my project. Finally, a site supervisor reached out to make an appointment to actually see and design a pool for me. I told him I had been disappointed with my experience thus far and he reassured me that I was now in good hands and that I'd be dazzled from now on. THEN HE NO SHOWED! Can you believe it? This guy went on and on about how he was going to change my perception of Calimingo and then he didn't show up or even text to say he couldn't make it. Hours later, he sent me a half hearted apology saying his meetings overlapped... our meeting was for 7:30 am... the first of the day. A week later, Sean calls me back asking to set up an appointment, completely clueless that this other guy no call no showed. I felt bad for Sean - he was very apologetic and had been very professional up to this point. I ended up going with a local San Diego pool builder with amazing customer service who didn't mind coming out and meeting with me for my measly 200k pool. read more

A  while back we hired Calmingo to design our front and back yard, and we were truly amazed at their skill. Steve and Jesse both exceeded our expectations- and captured things my wife and i would have never dreamed of.  The experience from start to finish was fantastic, professional, and exceptional!! We called around other companies before- and some offered free designs, which all were plain jane- not great. But as they say You get what you pay for!  And glad we found Calimingo - and Steve knocked if out of the park. read more

We worked with Calimingo Pools from design rending through pricing, and the experience was nothing short of amazing! Their professionalism, attention to detail, clear pricing, and high quality materials used truly set them apart in the pool industry. The process was seamless, organized and transparent. If you're looking for a reliable, high quality pool company, I highly recommend reaching out! read more

I've been interfacing with several pool builders for some time with many of them providing valuable input and support as my wife and I evaluate our options. We are thankful to everyone who has taken time to help with this effort. In particular, we wish to recognize Mr. Sean Lagrave, as he was extremely helpful today as we posed several questions about designs, Cal State mandates and pricing ideas during our lengthy telecom. Sean was very knowledgeable about all pool building facets and his guidance will be of great help as we make final decisions. Many thanks to Sean and his team for taking the extra time and effort to assist us with this process in good faith. read more

We are in the beginning stages of design. I started with the Calimingo Custom Design Package...3D design of project, fully broken down itemized construction estimate and unlimited revisions within 90 days after first design. My project manager SEAN is informative, prompt, professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. My graphic designer STEVE is magic man. He took my inspirations photos, my terrible drawings and my terribly conveyed verbal descriptions and put them into a beautifully executed design that is exactly my vision that what was in my head. He did such a good job that only a few quick and seamless revision were needed. I love everything about the design. The retaining wall has been completed. I will post pictures as each part of the project is finished. Thank you. read more

Because of the industry that I'm in, I've dealt with pool contractors for many years. So for me to say that I don't think I've ever seen a team like Sean and Jennifer over at Calimingo Pools holds a lot of weight. These two knew we were in a pinch to get a quote and turned things around before I knew it. Included not just the pool, but the CMU block walls, stucco, hardscape, iron railings, and more. Sean provided critical information that we needed and relayed the importance of our project to Jennifer. Jennifer then stayed up WAY past closing time to send me the most unbelievable and detailed proposal the following day. What more could a person want? Hope Calimingo realizes what gems these two are, as it's far and few to find employees this dedicated anymore. I can't thank you enough for your assistance. Well done, S & J! read more

We love Calimingo Pools! Calamingo offered us great service in the construction of our pool and landscaping of our front and backyard areas. When we initially spoke with them they asked us what out our overall goals was and we told them we wanted it to feel like a vacation home. For the entire construction they were prompt and extremely communicative. I even suggested them to a few friends and one of them went forward with having Calamingo do their pool construction as well! Our front and backyard look amazing and you can tell that they put a lot of thought and care into their work. It truly feels like a resort when we are home. Can't even get a quote from this company unless you're willing to fork up $1500 for a design that you don't even know if you're going to use. Tried to explain that I already have a design in my head, but that doesn't do any good. Every other pool company that I have gotten quotes from design something and give you a quote for it without trying to charge you an absurd amount of money on the front side like Calamigos pools. It doesn't make sense to me why anybody would want to do this route. read more

As crazy as this is, it's worth posting. This organization wanted $10,000 for drawings. I got a phone call from a young man who couldn't even remember how many people he had called. The young man actually had the audacity to tell me because I was concerned about how the drawings and the $10,000 was going to be addressed that I probably wasn't the right customer from them, ironically I ended up spending $150,000 with somebody else. See my review for RSC . The arrogance that some of these companies have because they have a social media presence nice trucks and great videos does not make them great customer service people nor people that seem they care about the product they represent. I will say for the record the owner reached out to try to share his thoughts also sit down and discuss the build, but that's a cultural issue that is not something that changes because somebody tells you a great story to get you back in their office. I would say Calimingo has some reflection they could use on the way their sales folks treat their customers and I have been in the business 30+ years Two STARZ because the owner took the time to try to call. read more

I recently visited a property in North Tustin for a real estate mixer that Calimingo had done the design and build of the outdoor areas for. The design: stunning. Jesse, Sara, and Johnny were present, charming, and informative regarding the property. The way the pool and lounge design wrapped the hilltop view of Orange County was breathtaking and serene. The outdoor living space and fire pit were warm and inviting. There were many focal points throughout, but some of my favorites were the lighting that became more apparent as the sun was setting, and the modern design of the outdoor seating area around the fireplace that added a new feeling to the mid-century modern design of the house on the property. All in all, I would highly recommend Calimingo if you're looking for professional designs for your outdoor projects on your properties. Simply stunning! read more

Our backyard was completed last week and we couldn't be happier! We had some friends over on Saturday and our only regret is that we didn't hire Calimingo sooner. Our new yard made it so fun and easy to have people over. I can't wait to host parties this holiday season. When we hired Calimingo, we saw their stellar reviews and awesome videos on Instagram. We talked to a few contractors and realized that calimingo was the best choice for our family. Even though we don't have a lot experience in big home improvement projects, we got really lucky because we really didn't have any big issues. We have heard some very alarming stories from friends about their botched pools/houses/bad contractors, so we are just grateful we made the right choice! read more

Absolutely ecstatic about the outcome of the project done by the Calimingo team! This time around, we asked for an extra large outdoor fireplace. I don't do a lot of reviewing typically, but I had to do it for these guys. Calimingo Pools has taken care of our every need from the first phone call with our sales person, Johnny, he educated us on everything even before we started with our amazing designer. Adam was very creative and so patient to guide us through the design process. Our project manager Russ was extremely professional and organized. Him and his assistant Tim kept us informed throughout the process. The workers that built everything were so nice and courteous, they cleaned up after themselves and kept their tools organized. We bought them lunch a few times and they were very appreciative. In general, I would recommend Calimingo Pools to anyone who needs an amazing pool and backyard. Thank you again to the whole team. Our first awareness of Jesse and Calimingo Pools came via a fortuitous stay at one of Jesse's Airbnb properties, who's main attraction was a beautiful pool and rock wall that he'd designed. At some point during the endless hours we spent luxuriating in that pool, we had an epiphany...did we have to be on vacation to enjoy a pool like this? Or was it possible to build one in our own backyard?! We were a little surprised and a lot delighted to discover that we actually could! For a comparatively reasonable price, we were able to design a backyard pool, spa and waterfall of our dreams. We were apparently not the only ones who had that idea, as Calimingo has gotten very busy; it took about a year from first inquiry to breaking ground...but once they started building, the work proceeded very quickly and very professionally, and without interruption - even through winter weather, Omicron, and supply chain shortages. Even a minor unavoidable inspection hiccup during construction that required a small re-design didn't slow them down. Frank, our project manager, was a great problem solver and communicator and kept things moving along. Chicho (sp?), who designed and built our spectacular rock wall, is an artist...the secret sauce that distinguishes Calimingo from anyone else in the area attempting to build rock landscapes. The final result exceeded our wildest expectations. It truly is our dream back yard - resort amenities available to us 24/7/52 weeks a year. It has transformed our home - and transformed our attitudes about being at home. We can't stop gushing about it; we've no doubt grown tiresome at remarking how lucky we feel to be able to experience this luxury in our own home every single day. read more

We were interested in transforming our backyard and installing a small pool, plus new landscape. Since this a major home improvement project, I spent alot of time researching local contractors. Calimingo was one of the highest rated and after reading reviews (good or not), and seeing some of their completed projects, they were easily on my short list of contractors. Since most of the contractors we called suggested we have a design to start the (bid/quote) process, we decided to work with Calimingo during the design phase. Sean L. was my primary contact at Calimingo. Alan F. was the design consultant. Specific to the design process, we shared with Alan what we were envisioning, and asked for his expertise/input. The original rendering was stunning (alot of nice upgrades). The price was alittle out of our budget, so we worked with Sean & Alan and made a few minor revisions and the final rendering was perfect for our backyard & budget. After the design, we went out to request quotes from four (4) other contractors (total of (5) with Calimingo). In the end, it came down to two companies, Calimingo and one of their competitors. Working with Sean was a pleasure. Sean has a wealth of experience, knowledge, & expertise. Sean spent alot of time with me throughout this process, patiently working through the design process, suggesting features to keep and which features we could save some money by not including. During the bid/quote process, Sean was extremely patient answering my many inquiries (emails, phone calls) and always very responsive. I was always more informed and understood the process better conversing with Sean. Sean and the Calimingo team are true professionals and I would highly recommend working with Calimingo on any pool/landscape/home improvement project. read more

Calimingo truly delivers a top of the line pool. From start to finish their professionalism was truly best of class. Charlie and Russ advised us in selecting finishes and options that were absolutely stunning and high quality. They also were very fair in their pricing. Calimingo was our 7th quote and we were exhausted in learning about pool renovations by the time we talked to Charlie! There was a reason we held out on signing with many other pool companies. Calimingo's emphasis on quality construction and design convinced us that they could manage such a massive renovation. These pictures show our vision was matched with their execution to deliver one gorgeous pool. Check this out!I read more

Calimingo did such a great job with our pool project! They are truly a "soup to nuts" company with all the trades represented and working for them. Asia the project manager was stellar--- detail oriented, professional, high quality standards and prompt to meet all requests. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. They did not just build a pool/spa, but installed an outdoor kitchen, replaced our old leaky outdoor stairs with a beautiful Spanish revival inspired stairs. All their crews are professional, skilled and efficient. Their landscaper Paul is a rock star. They even connected us with a great pool guy at the end of the project. We had been considering a complete renovation of our backyard for a few years and particularly figuring out if we could put in a pool big enough to be worth it given our backyard size and shape. After seeing Jesse's projects on HGTV a few times, my wife figured it wouldn't hurt checking him out for our project. I immediately assumed that anyone on TV would be overpriced and/or too interested in other projects to really care about ours. Jesse put my concerns about his interest level to rest in our initial consultation and through multiple revisions in the design process. Once we had a design we loved that took into account our goals, it was clear he genuinely listened to our priorities and feedback even though he has a strong artistic vision for his projects. I love that he can balance his taste and our project needs to create compelling results for us! He bid the design including lots of detail for each item and at that point I could compare specific lines against costs from other projects we've done and prior vendors to see that his prices were very reasonable for what we were doing. We gave the greenlight days before COVID hit, and despite permit challenges at the city due to the pandemic and everything else that happened in 2020, Jesse's team (Russ, Joel, Francisco, and crew) got our project done with a minimum of delays and did a fantastic job. Almost as important to me after all the other projects we've done with contractors over the years, when the inevitable challenges arose on a project this complex, Jesse and team handled directly and professionally with a minimum of stress for us. Thanks so much for a great new backyard and would love to work with Jesse and team again in the future on our next big project that needs a touch of genius! :) read more
