I'm honestly shocked I have not written a review for this place yet. Have been coming here for over 25 years. Same owner, same great prices, same excellent service. They offer lifetime warranty for their work. I've had some cars over 10 years without any problems. I'll sell my car before I need to fix my tint. Literally every single car I've ever owned has been here. All of my parents cars, friends, etc. This place is good, so they get PACKED. My best advice is go before they open and try to be one of the first cars in. If you can leave your car for the day and get picked up, even better. Was referred to this place by a friend who had a nice tint experience so we decided to give it a try for our Lexus and it was definitely worth it! They don't take appointments. It's FCFS. My husband went early and got there around 8:40am but there was already a car in front of him. Luckily it was a Tesla because they took my husband first before the Tesla (I think it requires a little bit more time with a Tesla since the windows open/close when you open the door). Peter was amazing! Very nice and knowledgeable and patient. He asked my husband his tint darkness preference and when he put on one layer, he asked him to double check and we went for a darker layer so he went ahead and did that for the rest of the windows. He did a total of 4 windows and it came out to about $200-$250 so definitely worth it. It is recommended not to open the windows for at least 2 days. When we first looked at it, you'll notice some air bubbles, but that went away after a day. Overall, the tint looks great and you can't see much from the outside. Definitely recommend! read more

Owner Peter is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Make an appt ahead of time. Most people, including the owner, gets the front 35% (sides), and back 18% (sides and back windshield) = $200ish. Open 9am weekday, come at 830am even with an appt. Fill out form, know/learn what you want, pick up in 4hours when called. They've been in business for a long time = popular, established. They use to be popular for cheap and good quality. Owner Peter is very patient and willing to educate you. Just let him serve his customers first, and talk to you on the side when orders are done with others. He'll still save your number in line. Packed. On a Tuesday, I came at 830am to be 1st in line. 2 more cars came around 845am. Around 915amish, there's a huge swarm of usual clients who know what they want, fill out the form and pay later. Difficult to get into their small parking lot. Traffic is really bad around 8am but this place is reliable and very affordable. A friend has been doing their car tons here for awhile and suggested the place. For luxury cars, he has a different place. Payment: After work is completed. Apparently, CA legal tint is like nothing when it comes to the front windshield, or 2 front side windows. What we got: Cool. Got the non-ceramic/cheaper easy tinting: 1. Front Windshield Top Shade Visor (not full tinting): $40 18% tint. Usually 4inches but he gave me 8inches, understanding my mainy conerc of sun from front windshield when driving. I chose this cheaper option visor ($40) instead of legal CA tint % of front windshield ($275ish). 2. Front: 2 side windows 35% tint. 3. Back: 2 side windows and back windshield 25% tint (legal) which is darker than 35%. = $290 pay later. They take cash too. Most people, including the owner also gets front 35% (side windows), and back 18% (side windows and back windshield). Backs are legal but you must be cautious if you're living in a dark neighborhood cause it's difficult to see at night if top dark. 18% is usual for many ppl, but I was going to keep it safe, cause we do drive thru dark areas, or for camping. (FYI, I have other friends who got bubbles months later. Bare in mind of my experience: I have an old car/not used or cared for in any vain way. I saw a possible bubble same day, and I just pressed down and it was fine. A month later, and everything looks find so far. Maybe we got lucky? I called Peter on a weekday morning and he was very friendly and provided me with a lot of good information. I went early in the morning to drop off my car, and the workers were nice answering the questions I had about tint percentages and the cost. I'm not one to write a review often, especially a negative one, but my recent experience was an unpleasant one with Peter (owner of California Tint). I'm writing this review to give caution to those that are considering going to California Tint and to those who have been loyal customers (myself included) that when it comes to warranty work from Peter.....be prepared for a disappointment. I've been a customer of California Tint for over 20 years, and up until my recent experience, the customer service from Peter and quality of work has been perfect. I brought in my vehicle to have the front windshield , driver, and passenger side windows tinted. Received a call from Peter later that the car was ready for pickup. I did a quick visual check, and everything appeared to be fine. On the way home, I was stopped at a traffic light, and the sun was shining on the passenger side window, and that's when I noticed a faint scratch about 3 inches long. I then called Peter and told him what I'm seeing and that I'll need to bring the car back in for him to see the scratch. I picked up the car on Tuesday and told Peter that I could bring it in the next day, thinking that he would be okay with that. Instead... he said that the shop would be closed from Wednesday until the following Monday, which didn't make any sense to me, since the shop is open Monday through Saturday. I pass by the shop whenever I head to the gym, and sure enough, the shop was open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Needless to say....I felt disappointed that he told me otherwise. I dropped by Saturday and talked to Peter, and he told me to come by first thing Monday morning. I came by first thing Monday morning, before the shop opened its door and already there were a few people in front of me. The people in front were new customers, and instead of telling the people in front that he needed to take in my car first to address a warranty work.....he still did a "first come, first serve" attitude, which is unacceptable and poor customer service. When I showed Peter the scratch and the poorly cut edges of the window film along the edges of the windows, he was hesitant and reluctant to honor the warranty. I asked Peter how long it would take to remove and reinstall the tint for the 2 windows.....his response, I'll need a couple of hours. I waited at the shop from 10 am until 1 pm for 2 windows!!! The best part of this is... Peter cut the film himself, and the edges of the window still were poorly cut. A complete waste of my time going back to Peter, thinking that the work would be fixed and done correctly. When I showed Peter the issue with the work the 2nd time around, instead of being apologetic....he played dumb and was full of excuses. It's really disappointing and sad to be given the run around, lack of accountability, disregard of other people's time, and just hearing excuses after excuses from a business owner. read more

Price is appealing but you get what you pay for. Brought my accord coupe in for a full ceramic tint and initially was happy. Here's where it goes wrong; A little over a year goes by and I notice that my rear windshield is beginning to bubble. So I called in to inquire about the "lifetime warranty" that they promote which initially why I went with California tint. After speaking with a rep, I was told that the appointments to use lifetime warranty were to be made based on availability and there wasn't going to be a spot open for the next two months. Pretty ridiculous when considering that the appointments for regular tint was only a day wait. When I had mentioned that my rear tint was getting bad to the point where it was hard to see out of and requested a sooner date I was told to "just drive carefully" and that if I wanted to come in sooner I would have to pay the original cost to replace. What a POS response. I will never be coming back to this place and will make sure anyone that is even considering this place stays far away. I had my receipt to claim the "lifetime warranty", spoke with Peter, gave me the run around for literally 3 months. After calling back and forth with the shop and manufacturer to find a solution, Peter said he was going to charge for the tint to be replaced and I refused to pay for something under warranty. He didn't really want to explain what are the difference between different tint and he did not tell me the brand of the tint. but since i was refered by a friend so i just go ahead and let him do the tint for me. after i got the car back, three of my doors start to make noise. I brought my car back to mercedes and they have to replace the whole door pannel. i dont know why this place has good stars. but i will never go back there again. I really wanted to like California Tint due to a recommendation. Over the phone, they were extremely rude in telling me to come on a Monday or a weekday to get it done. Obviously, I was not going to take a day off to get my car tint so I just came on a random Saturday to take care of it. I was told it would take an hour or two upon starting. I dropped off the car at 9:30am and I didn't get a call back from the owner until 4:00pm. There were 3 cars already getting their tint done when I went and I assumed I was next. There were 3 incidents that just made this place not worth getting your tint done. Yeah, they are cheap but is it worth the customer service? Not really. 1) Upon entering, I told Chris that I was quoted $120 for the back two doors and rear window. He seemed to not like me when I came in because when I asked what was the difference between carbon 5 and 18, he said "look up" in the rudest way. I asked for a recommendation and he said he didn't know and to figure it out myself. He didn't explain any legality in it and assure me of anything. Literally so rude. 2) I asked Chris for a receipt for the service and I got a legit "no". WHAT DO YOU MEAN NO LOL. At this point, I was getting upset because his behavior was rude and unacceptable. It's not like I am close to him as a friend to not take it offensively either. He ended up giving me a pink slip to pick up the car but didn't say anything. SO RUDE. 3) As I was leaving the lot, I realized I forgot my water bottle. At this point, I already gave Chris my keys but I left the car unlocked. As I was about to enter my car, the doors locked and I looked up and saw Chris. I asked him to open the car so I can get my water bottle and he did. He said no words to me and no apology for it. Seriously?? Chris, you're not as cool as you think. I talked to Peter (the owner) about it when I came back and while he was apologetic, he noted for the car locking incident, it was an accident as if he was defending Chris. And that maybe Chris didn't know he pressed the lock button. There was no way that he could have not known. On BMW keys, it's literally a lock that's unlocked and a BMW symbol meaning lock. He didn't even apologize when he locked me out of my own car. I am sure Chris knows how keys work and that he just wanted to mess with me. Overall, just save your time and dignity with this place. So you want to tint your car. But before you do so, let me give you a little tint buying information. Try finding a company that has tint, with very low glare to it. I'm not sure how they make it, or what kind of material, or coating, tint manufactures uses, but some tint, from the inside looking out, is very glary, and you will actually see more of yourself, and the interior of your car, than seeing the outside, especially on a sunny day. This can make driving a little dangerous and difficult. What I like about California tint, is that their tint has a very low glare to it, and you will actually see the outside more clearer, and without distractions of what's inside your car. I don't have to wonder if there is a car coming towards me, or am I looking at my wife, putting on her makeup. Ask them if you can see a vehicle from the inside, and see what you think. That's what I did, and when I saw it, I was sold. Other things that I like about California tint, is their life time warranty, the quality of workmanship, and Pete and Jason, they were really nice guys, very knowlegeable, very helpful. Used to be my go to tint shop, but the inflation was taken to a whole new level here. Literally, tripled in price from 2 years ago. And I've came here 15 years ago and the prices was steady. $350 to tint a Honda Civic. I tinted my Honda Accord beginning of 2020 for a little over $100. The location is less than ideal. Parking limited and unorganized. The shop is small with stuff piled everywhere on the inside. Peter quoted me one price over the phone, but when i showed up and upon seeing my new car, charged me $200 more. Value: not good. The ceramic tint brand used here is not high quality. Yet the price is higher than other places (which i only discovered later). I would recommend calling to check for price and compare the brand of ceramic coating elsewhere. FormulaOne ceramic tint is better but Peter uses another brand that is less quality. read more

Affordable price and great quality! They did a really good job on my tint. The only problem with this place is they get busy fast. I called yesterday and they told me people start to line up by 7:30am in Saturday's so I Arrived there at 7am. I was first in line up until 7:30 and 1 person showed up, by 8:40am there were about 5 people behind me. They opened up the shop at about 8:45am and by 9am it was about 15people lined up and the customers kept coming. Since I was first they started in my car right away, had the back and all 4 doors done. I was out of there by 10:15 which was great since I had plans the rest of the day. My only tip is if you wanna get it done right away and not have to leave your car for hours get here early and bring a chair. read more
