    California club pizza

Really enjoyed our lunch here over the weekend. Came on a Sunday- the mall was pretty slow because of the weather and so was the restaurant. I came with my toddler. She had the cheese pizza and enjoyed it! I had the California club pizza. Just like childhood- it hasn't changed. I used to get this pizza 15 years ago when I came here as a teen. Service was good as well.

The pizza was mid, however, our server was not. We arrived two hours prior to closing, yet it seemed like our server couldn't wait for us to leave. He never introduced himself and when I asked if they had lemons, I was met with an attitude. The overall atmosphere was alright, but I don't think I will be returning. Update: They made it right and management honestly was so kind. Giving 2 more stars

We started with the Sangria flight and it was very fruity and smooth. We then tried the spicy chicken dumplings and they were really tasty and not too spicy. Just right for me. We also shared the spinach artichoke dip with nachos. The nachos tasted like they were out of a bag and not warmed. The dip was good though. The drinks and starters were on the happy hour 1/2 price menu. We then had the tomato soup. It was the right temperature and tasty with croutons on top. We ordered the Hawaiian pizza. It looked better than it tasted. It could have used some cinnamon, dates, or almonds to add a little variety to the taste. The pizza was the least impressive of all of our dishes that we tried. We ended up taking some of the pizza home. We finished our meal with the butter cake served with Hagan Das vanilla ice cream. It was heavenly! The server was attentive to all of our needs. The restaurant was clean and had a low buzz of noise which was perfect for conversation with my hubby. This was the first time that we had been to this restaurant which was situated in the Polaris mall. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to trying other items on the menu.

This location is in a very, very busy mall so there was a bit of a wait. Hostess said we could get a table in 15, walked around 8ish minutes, and when we came back they had given away our table. Kind of a rough start to the meal but the rest of the staff we interacted with was kind and made sure we always had refills, napkins, etc. It's been years since I'd been to a California Pizza Kitchen, but I remember the food being better? Nothing was bad, but the pizza was not the star of the show. The California Egg rolls were unique and really delicious and honestly could be a meal on their own. The sangria flight was pretty good, though the first two flavors were basically the same. I had a gift card that paid for this meal, but still felt like the menu was slightly overpriced for what it is. Not a bad time, just not a standout experience.

After a rough (and I mean ROUGH) Saturday i decided to grab some food before heading home. I didn't want anything too big this late at night so I opted fora 7 inch California Veggie. I'll post pics when it arrives.

My wife and I were planning on visiting the mall and decided to check this place out since we've never been here before. Not a bad pizza at all. The crust was really good, but it really felt like there was no sauce on the pizza. I asked my wife before I said that and she even asked do you taste any sauce? By the second slice we were able to taste it, but barley. I think they spread the sauce so thin on it. I wouldn't mind coming back, but I'll have to ask for extra sauce next time.

Lunch combo- tomato basil bisque and BBQ chicken pizza
    Lisa K.

Went for family friendly lunch. Sanitizer was offered at checkin, tables were socially distanced, and you could pay on your phone. I ordered the lunch combo of tomato basil bisque and BBQ chicken pizza for $11. Both were delicious and the soup was the perfect temp. The kids menu had a lot of options. I was extremely happy was their portion size and price of $6. With limited seating, only two servers were working and seemed a little stretched. We did have to ask for bread, silverware, and napkins, but all arrived very promptly. Overall it is a nice spot other than the food court.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. To bad they don't have one in my city. I always get the same thing the original BBQ pizza and the Original BBQ Chopped Salad with chicken. They do have a new plant based chicken substitute that seems like a great option for vegetarians/vegans/pescatarians! I will definitely be back next time I'm in Columbus.

WOW. So I had a…read moremedical appointment up in Westerville & as usual, due to health issues, couldn't eat before it -- which means I would be hungry & cranky by the time it was over. Husband came with me, and we were trying to find a reasonably inexpensive restaurant with good food. A quick search turned up a lot of *expensive* restaurants in the Polaris area, and restaurants that we weren't into at that point, but then I saw Agape' listed right near the Ohio Health offices up there. So I did what any sane hungry person would do -- I asked the nurses & techs at Ohio Health who were involved in the procedure, "Hey, that Agape place nearby? Any good?" (seriously, medical people are going to know the good eateries nearby -- they get a ton of delivery because they're always busy & they aren't going to mess around with a crappy eating place for their lunch breaks). I got an immediate "OH HELL YEAH" and enthusiastic recommendations from not only the folks who were involved in my medical stuff, but also the desk staff, other nurses/techs, etc etc. That's an amazing sign -- a place that gets immediate "OH MY GOD YES" when you ask folks at random if it's any good. So, my medical procedure over, we went to Agape'. OH MY GOD, YES. OH HELL YEAH. First, it's a chain, but it's a LOCAL chain, founded & based here in Columbus OH with only a few locations around the city at the moment. They seem to have focused on taking over the old/defunct Chipotle locations (Chipotle's mostly gone belly-up here), and repurposing it for their Greek/Mediterannean concept. Let me be clear for the folks in the back: AGAPE' IS NOT OWNED BY CHIPOTLE & HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. They're Columbus-local, & MORE POWER TO THEM. Agape' works like Chipotle -- select your base (salad, fresh pita bread, bowl), select your protein, select your sauces/spreads, load up on the fillings, and DAMMIT GET THE GREEK FRIES, THEY'RE SO FREAKIN' AWESOME...:cough: sorry. So both Husband and I had pita gyros with various different fillings and then made the "mistake" of ordering 2 portions of Greek Fries, one for each of us. FYI, those portions are BIG. One order of Greek Fries is more than enough for two people, but who cares, we've got leftover Greek Fries in the fridge for a snack later... :cough: sorry. The food is that good. We had to wait a bit for fresh pita (but who cares? FRESH HOT PITA!!!), all the fillings & protein & THOSE FRIES were fresh, hot, tasty, filling & just go ahead and add any other complimentary adjectives here, because Agape' deserves it. They took the Chipotle concept, improved it, ran with it, and GOD, I hope they succeed & stay the course, because I have regular medical stuff up in Westerville, and I really need a good inexpensive place to eat after those appointments are done. (My only minimal gripe -- no Clintonville location. Yet. The Westerville location is about 20 minutes up the road for us; the next closest seems to be out in Gahanna. But don't rush to expand, Agape' -- expanding too fast, too soon can sink a business hard. Take your time & focus on that glorious Greek food. AND THOSE FRIES.) Oh, and the baklava was PERFECT, too. ;)

Came here to say for lunch while on a work trip, and will definitely come back! I got the pita with…read moregyro, and a side of pita and hummus, and the portions were incredible! I left full, and the taste was amazing!

It was still good and I wasn't interested in asking anyone to fix it. So, if you love chicken salad it's a good lunch place. Definitely beats fast food burgers or chicken. It's pricey. This was the first time we've had the opportunity to try new dishes before they actually appeared on the regular menu, which made the evening especially interesting. Cindy and I ordered both preview entrées and split them so we could try each one, with the plan from the beginning to take about half of each home for lunch tomorrow. The Calabrian Chili & Sausage Flatbread was excellent, with sweet Italian sausage, Calabrian chilis, tomato sauce, mozzarella, provolone, ricotta, fresh basil and hot honey. Although it's called a flatbread, it eats much like a thin-crust pizza, which I liked since I'm trying to cut back a little on carbs. The Calabrian chilis definitely make their presence known! After a few slices I adjusted to the heat and loved the combination of flavors. I think this could be near the upper end of the heat range for some people. Cindy thought it was too hot for her, while I would definitely order it again. Interestingly, although they call it hot honey, the honey itself really isn't hot. It does add some moisture underneath the flatbread, but I didn't have much trouble eating it by hand. The Meatloaf Patty Melt was another winner. The meatloaf was moist, tender and almost melt-in-your-mouth. It has caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, Frisco mayo and crispy onion straws. I especially liked getting the onion flavor in two different textures, with the caramelized onions blending into the tender meatloaf and the crispy onion straws adding some crunch. There's a lot happening in this sandwich, and I found that cutting it in half first made it much easier to handle. Excellent flavor! I chose the Roasted Street Corn Pasta Salad as my side, and it was OUTSTANDING. The pasta appeared to be orzo, along with roasted corn, crumbled white cheese, chopped green herbs and a creamy dressing. We couldn't get the complete ingredient list, but whatever they're doing works. Great flavor and texture, and definitely not your typical mayonnaise-heavy pasta salad. Then we made the terrible mistake of letting our server, Kaitlyn, tell us about the dessert options. That resulted in ordering the Coffee & Doughnut Crème Brûlée with two beignets. For uncultured people like me, I learned that crème brûlée basically means "burnt cream," referring to that caramelized sugar crust on top. Who knew? Apparently Cindy did. The crème brûlée was excellent. I could definitely detect the coffee flavor. I couldn't really identify a "doughnut" flavor, although Cindy says she could. The two beignets (basically light, fried pastries dusted with powdered sugar) were great. I scooped up some of the crème brûlée, put it on a beignet and took a bite. THAT worked! Cindy normally doesn't care much for crème brûlée, but even she thought this one was pretty good. Kaitlyn told us the Coffee & Doughnut Crème Brûlée is definitely her favorite dessert at 101, and I can understand why. More importantly, her service throughout the evening was OUTSTANDING. She was attentive, friendly and extremely conversational. We learned that she's in her fifth year serving in the Army, and has applied to get into a field that...well, apparently we can't talk about. Both preview entrées were excellent, the Roasted Street Corn Pasta Salad was a standout, dessert was excellent, and Kaitlyn made an already enjoyable evening even better. We're looking forward to seeing these dishes on the new seasonal menu October 13!

Vince was our server, and everything came out nice and hot. We tried the Smoked & Grilled Wings, Street Corn & Ricotta Dip, and the house Mac & Cheese. The wings were cooked well and had good flavor, but I definitely would've liked a little more sauce on them. The Street Corn & Ricotta Dip was my favorite. The guacamole tasted really fresh, and I loved that they put it right on top of the corn instead of mixing everything together. The tortilla chips were fresh and crispy too. The Mac & Cheese was good, but it wasn't your typical cheddar mac and cheese. It had more of a creamy white-cheese flavor with penne and breadcrumbs, so just know it's a different take if you're expecting traditional mac. Overall, it was a nice little Saturday stop while we were out running errands. Good service from Vince, hot food, and a relaxed atmosphere. I'd definitely stop in again to try some other appetizers.

Celebrating 25 Years at One of Our Favorite Steakhouses!…read more Last night was a very special night for my wife and me -- we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary, and we decided to spend it at one of our favorite steakhouses, Firebirds. We arrived a little early to beat the dinner crowd, and just as I suspected, the restaurant wasn't very busy. We were seated immediately, and to our surprise, our waitress was Nigh (I hope I'm spelling that correctly!). She has waited on us before, and we were so happy to see her again. She is honestly one of the sweetest servers you could ask for -- friendly, super polite, attentive, and just an all-around great waitress. Since we arrived early, we were able to take advantage of their early dinner special, which offers eight different entrées to choose from. I went with the Asiago Creamy Spicy Pasta, which came with chicken, diced tomatoes, chopped green onions, and penne pasta. I also started with a BLT salad, which was delicious. And, of course, Firebirds brings fresh bread to the table, which is always a nice bonus. My wife chose the meatloaf with mushroom gravy, served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We both agreed -- the meals were absolutely delicious! And because we were celebrating, we couldn't leave without ordering one of our absolute favorites: Big Daddy Chocolate Cake! How do I describe this cake? Imagine the most decadent, rich, chocolatey dessert you've ever had... now multiply that by 10. That's probably getting close to describing how good this cake is! It is seriously that delicious. Once again, Firebirds delivered exactly what we've come to expect: great food, great service, and a wonderful experience. Most importantly, they helped make our 25th wedding anniversary a little more special, and we truly appreciate that. Thanks, Firebirds, for another fantastic meal and another great memory. We'll definitely be back!
