I don't know how they got 5 star from the survey. I made the appointment 2 weeks in advanced on 03/28/26 @9:30AM to estimate for my countertop, but never show up or call. I waited for an hour and left. Around 11:30AM the guy called and wanted to come to my house then I told him to forget it. I glad they show the bad business so I don't needed. read more

From the start, we had a great experience with California Countertops and Francisco. The other companies we had contacted I felt were not honest in their pricing and Francisco is very upfront and didn't play any games like others. I cannot be happier with the bathroom counters. They are amazing. Jesus and his side kick that installed them did a fantastic job. We will definitely recommend them and hire them again when we're ready to do our kitchen counters. Mr. Zapata, not sure why I never got an estimate after calling twice to ask for the estimate even after talking to you on the phone and you stating you would send the estimate the next day and nothing came through. You were my first estimate and I want to thank you for coming out to measure and giving me your point of view. I guess you may have not wanted my business after reading some of these reviews that say you don't call them back and your still in business is something to wonder about. Sorry for the 1 star it's for poor communication and lack of honesty. If you thought I had a tough job to do you should have just let me know it would have been better communication. Though thanks to Inland counter tops that came through with an estimate of a little over $7k I have decided to do business with them. read more

Let me start by saying their work is outstanding and their prices are pretty close to unbeatable. My counters are beautiful. The color choices for Granite and Quartz are great. Estimates given weren't changed or altered, unless we chose a different price range for material. Unfortunately, I had to give 3 stars for a few reasons: 1. Yes, I understand plumbing is not included in the service, but I didn't think they literally meant they won't touch any plumbing at all. We aren't professionals. We didn't know much about how to hook up our sink and disposal so we were left to figure that stuff out on our own. They took all of our pipes with the sink when they tore it out so we had to replace everything. 2. We didn't know we had to have a 5th hole drilled for our dishwasher spout. We figured they knew how many holes were needed. We learned the hard way because our dishwasher leaked all over the floor. When we finally figured out what was wrong, we called to have them come back out and drill the extra hole. Problem is, they wanted to charge us $100 to come back out. Upon talking to an employee we found out that that hole was supposed to be there in order for us to pass inspection if we decided to sell the house. So their workers were aware that we needed that extra hole and failed to ask us. If we wanted a working and legal dishwasher set up, We had no choice, but to pay them the money to come back out and drill the hole. Their overall customer service was great, but the added costs that we had to pay out because of this was incredibly inconvenient, frustrating, and unnecessary. I know they are working on implementing a more informative contract because of the their lack of detail upon signing, but I believe that if that information was presented to us before signing and completing the project, our experience would have gone a lot smoother and we would've been more prepared. So keep that in mind when choosing them. They are awesome, but be prepared to deal with your own plumbing issues entirely as well as be prepared to pay out extra money due to simple avoidable issues such as these. read more

I checked prices at several different counter top locations and this place was by far the cheapest. I had someone come out and do a estimate and they were very nice, professional and knowledgeable. I decide on carrera white quartz and opted to do the back splash on my own. They arrived on time on the scheduled day and did a nice Job installing the counter tops. After being installed I noticed you could clearly see the seam in multiple places. In addition, in one area where the two pieces join the two are different colors and you can clearly tell the difference. This was one of the things I asked about before making the decision to get installed and they assured me you would not be able to notice the difference. I attached pictures. When I called to try to have the situation fixed the owner came out and looked at it and noticed it was a problem. He then said he would call me to schedule a re install. 3 weeks have passed and I call him and he never calls me. His assistant told me one day they were waiting for material from the manufacturer which seems odd. Any way I would not recommend as I myself prefer getting better quality over price. I will update my review if the problem is rectified. read more

Zapatas falsely advertise! They attest to charging by the square foot, except for vanities, which they disclose. I had them do a large kitchen for me last year. I was mostly happy with their work and called upon them a few days ago to do a small kitchen countertop for me for another home. They came back with this ridiculous high quote! I couldn't believe the quote, more than I had spent on this huge kitchen last year. I asked for the breakdown of the quote, they gave me 1600.00 for install and material, plus 1000.00 in misc. charges.. Mr. Zapata, said he charged by the job, not by the footage as advertised. I went with another, the quote for install and material was half of Zapatas quote. Same material and business is a five st Nr. Zapata states that he charges by the job, if so he falsely advertises. read more

I'm in the final stages of completing a newly constructed home. I called several installers for estimates. Because Zapatas had the quickest most professional response, i decided to use them. As an added bonus, their estimate was within my budget. The install crew showed about 30 minutes or so early, which was unexpected, but great. They were very courteous and professional and went right to work. They did the cutouts for the sinks onsite, which i did not have a problem with. They installed the kitchen, 2 bathrooms and a laundry room and it turned out Awesome! All around very happy. read more

Shop Around 1st! I Called them about a residential house and they had somebody come out and give me an estimate. I had them do a residence for me in the past and they did a good job. There's a difference between prefabricated pieces that have already been cut and you select or custom counter work please research if your unsure because I learned alot this time around. When the estimator showed up he was on time and polite and quick with the measurements however he did not get back to me until I called him. The next couple of days he had texted me back his quote and they were double the amount of everybody else. I chose the cheapest granite from the 1st list all the way on poor man's list and he quoted me over 2800.00 and this is our second kitchen were having done and its half the size. When asking him of a better deal he replied back arrogantly that they will be even higher next month. He told me he would talk to his boss and never bothered to return the call. I'm currently having my kitchen counters done by another company doing the same pre fabricated work for $1900.00 good luck please shop around before you make final decisions. It's one thing if your prices change because of the economy and where the rock is coming from which is totally understandable but another thing to keep a customer waiting and waiting for a response just to have you blown off and not taking seriously. Needed a granite kitchen countertop... and after getting multiple quotes from two companies in Anaheim, settled on Zapatas who was willing to come out to Huntington Beach for a reasonable distance charge. Just had Rose Pearl granite installed yesterday and am very happy with it. The color goes well w/ stainless steel appliances and the seams are almost invisible. These guys are licensed and do a great job. Just keep in mind that granite is a natural stone, so each piece will have some color issues (mine had some black spots). read more

Had granite installed in a rental home in Highland a couple of weeks ago. The installers were professional and courteous. They took their time and even did the window sill over the sink (which was not really part of the back splash that was included). They demo'd and installed the same day and I am VERY happy with the service and the work they did. They did a very nice job and would recommend them. read more

The whole team at Zapatas has been fantastic to work with over the last week. We had a very unusual kitchen design with odd angles and weird ledges and narrow spaces to boot. We used Zapatas to install a quartz countertop and backsplash throughout, including on an island with cooktop cutouts. Not only was their pricing EXTREMELY competitive; they measured repeatedly to ensure that they could fabricate as much in the shop as possible and ensure a smooth installation. The team was careful with our new flooring and worked hard to make sure that my OCD was satisfied; even coming out to show me how to polish after the installation was complete so that I could maintain the counters in their condition. Zapatas has transformed my VERY dated kitchen within budget, and within the timeline they proposed. As far as vendors go, I think that follow-through for the price and time estimates given at the onset is a mark of professionalism and quality. I recommend them without hesitation. read more

Put simply, Zapata's was excellent in customer service, value, and workmanship. I had received very pricey quotes from others and just happened upon Zapata's driving home one day. I live in a retirement community a ways from their business and each time they came out they were prompt and professional. When they first quoted me the price, I figured they had made a mistake and would soon be telling me it was more. They didn't. They were so much more reasonable compared to the other quotes I received. I decided on the quartz, and it was less expensive then the quotes I got for granite from other places. Plus I had issues even scheduling to get estimates with the other big name establishments. I got an undermount sink, dropped it off and they fit it perfectly into the counters. Lastly, the counters look beautiful. The bull nose looks great and the seam blends right in. I would highly recommend Zapata's to anyone looking for new countertops.
