I REALLY wanted to make the most of our closet space. When I first pitched the idea of a closet system to my husband, he responded that he could do it. Ya, we put that idea in the back pocket. I decided that I would buy the closets. I emailed and inquired for a quote. I recieved a response right away and was assigned to work with Jenny. Jenny gave us a 3D image of how the closet would look like. She came to measure everything. Once we finalized how we wanted the closet, we came to the store. We chose our wood finishings and added a few accessories. My husband was finally on board once he saw how it would look in store. We put a deposit , and it was finalized. The closets were installed a few weeks later and we're better than I ever imagined! I LOVE my closet now! I'm also proud of my family for finally keeping organized. When I moved into my condo, I had a wardrobe system put in by another closet brand in Honolulu and they were just okay. Due to the pandemic I decided to rip out my master closet and turn it into an office space with upper cabinetry for optional work from home situations. I chose to use California Closets for my office project because I had specifications that the closet brand that installed my wardrobe could not deliver. Nick was my designer at California Closets and he listened to everything I told him and addressed all my concerns. The result was an office that I am completely happy with. Nick even integrated under-cabinet lighting to illuminate my work space, which I hadn't thought of. The California Closet cabinets are textured like linen which gives it an elevated look unlike my flat white wardrobe from another closet brand. Also, soft close hinges are standard at California Closet. My wardrobe from a competitor brand slams close. I regret not going to California Closet for both my wardrobe AND my office. This is a long overdue review for our custom designed & built pantry/dining room system. We got this built back in October 2023 and took less than a month to get it designed and built. Jenny was a great person to work with! I highly recommend her! Jenny is responsive and very sweet. She came to our home for a free consultation and worked a quick design within our budget. We met again few days later at the showroom to go over final design and fixture choices. The builders were quiet, courteous, and very professional. We use the pantry every day, and use the buffet top for parties. We have not seen any problems with the materials and think everything is high quality. Brad C and I got our closets done by Karen Luke (designer), Stephen (installer), and Jose (installer), who were all such a pleasure to work with. Tabatha (customer liaison) was also very nice and helpful. First off, we were very worried about storage in our new, small apartment, so we thought that it would be best to have a closet organizer that could help us to maximize the use of the space while also looking beautiful and custom. California Closets' Karen came to our rescue! With the coronavirus pandemic in full swing, it may be a little difficult to have to plan out the consultation appt and installation, so keep that in mind. Having said that, two months flew by from initial consult to final installation, and we couldn't be happier. Karen was so professional and helpful with our design. She was very insightful when we asked for her opinion, but we had a general idea of what we wanted, so she was appreciative that we had a plan. Some of the wood styles were also on sale, so she advised us on some of the popular combinations that look good together, with photobooks to help us see how it all could look together. She was so knowledgeable and truly made our experience excellent. The installation crew of Stephen and Jose were very quick and their work was excellent. They even cleaned up when they were done! Third update It would appear that this was a misunderstanding on their part based on the company's response to me here. I appreciate them taking the time to review the process on their end. I am not sure what part of their protocol needs to be revised to prevent something like this from happening in the future, but I do hope the process gets addressed. I was able to replace the remote independently & a family member figured out how to synch the remote with the lights. So all's well that ends well. read more

Thank you Lylah and the whole team at California Closets! This is actually my second time going with them but there were a lot more details involved this time due to the amount of closets we had. Lylah was extremely helpful with taking initial measurements and providing us with the initial picture on what each closet would do for us. Through the design process we fine tuned the measurements for our pantry, linen and bedroom closets. After the okay was given they prepped all the materials and came a couple weeks after to install everything. They did have to come back a second time because one closet was not cut to size but the second time around they came back and added trim to certain closets to make it look cleaner and I appreciated the attention to detail. Yes, having a closet designed to fit your exact space will definitely be more than say traditional wire shelving but you can't compare the two. I also looked around and some places have pre-built closets that you shove into your closet but I was not fond of there being underutilized space and the pricing did not seem any cheaper. You get what you pay for in life and I'm happy with Lylah and her team. Thank you! read more

After moving into our new home, one of our first projects was renovating the closets, which were outdated, with mirrored doors and broken/dysfunctional shelves. Nick Graham was our Designer. Immediately, he put us at ease with his warm manner. He has flexible, considerate hours and met us at a time that was convenient for our schedules. He encouraged us to tell us what our dream closet consisted of, including colors, use of space, and features. He used the Kahala showroom to brainstorm. Within days, he gave us a quote and design that we were thrilled with and we chose to proceed with 2 large reach-in closets with hanging rods, drawers, and display space, as well as 2 linen closets (one with a built-in wardrobe). As with any home renovation project, especially during COVID, there were challenges during the install, but Nick constantly checked in with us off-site and on-site to make sure that we were happy with the finished product. We have an apartment with challenging, asymmetrical design features, and he worked with that design and gave us storage spaces that we will enjoy for years to come. While the photos look lovely, let me assure you that the finished product has subtle color design highlighting the dimension of the custom woodwork, and the impression is of a unique, artistic piece that appears seamless with the other furniture in our home. Nick's colleagues were also lovely, polite, and professional, including Mel, who did a fantastic job with the closet door install. This was my first time working with California Closets. Although it was pricey the quality of service is worth the price. The entire process was great. I got two closets and one office done. My designer was Roland Gabriel and he was excellent. He was accommodating and patient with every feedback I gave him. And boy, I gave a lot of feedback. Once the installation was done, there were a few imperfections with it. Minor damages to the wood that happened during the installation that I noticed a week later (I was out of town for a week). Spoke to Chris, the manager at California Closets regarding this and he reassured me that any issues I still have with the installation can and will be address. This was amazing to me because I felt like I was nitpicking at minor damages, but since I was paying a lot for the service so I felt like I needed to point it out. Honestly, I was expecting some resistance. Or perhaps they would fix it but put me on the back burner and get back to me several months from then, but this was definitely not the case. Chris ensured me that what I wanted will be done and done right away. I couldn't ask for better service. Would definitely recommend them to anyone read more

I had another project done with them, and let me just say how impress I continue to be with their work, craftsmanship and professionalism. They really know how to work out a space and make it as functional and practical. You may think that you are spending a lot, but the work at the end is worth every dime. My kids and I needed additional work space, but we didn't have anywhere else to put it since the space in our home didn't seem too practical to purchase new furnitures. I decided to use the upstairs hallway as our last resort since it is a wasted wall space. After sharing my ideas with CC and the design team, I must say that they always amaze me by creating exactly what my vision was. I already knew what I wanted it to look like and Roland designed it with his very cool computer software. Next, chose color of wood and I decided that I did not want doors. Not once did I feel let down or dismissed with my many questions and requests. CC exceeded my expectations! After an extensive remodel of our home, they did a beautiful job designing and installing cabinets, etc., in two large his and her closets. Two cabinets in my closet were nicked by the fan, which was installed prior to the closet. While the electrician showed no interest in shortening the fan's pole, to avoid future collisions, though he said he could do it, Chris, of California Closets, said he had heard of the mishap and would replace the doors as a courtesy!! It has been like pulling teeth working with this company. Maybe they think they can just coast on the big name national reputation of California Closets but it's a small island and referrals can be important. They take days to respond to emails for simple yes/no questions. They took my deposit 2 weeks ago and still i have not been scheduled for the build. Maybe they don't care about me because it's a small job? Never just had my emails and calls ignored before..I am still a paying customer who has really not asked much beyond asking when a scheduler will call. The lack of communication has been absolutely appalling. If you want to have your money taken then made to feel like you don't matter, go for it. They seem not at all embarassed about conducting business in this manner! read more

The people that I spoke with over the phone, Roland and Renee, never said what you are stating: you were not there so where are you coming up with all this? This is the first time I have had any communication with you, so what you are saying is all hearsay. I have been speaking with Roland and emailing back and forth with him the whole time. Great service. I brought a closet system with this company 4 years ago and loved it. Recently I noticed some of the glue was coming off of some of the attached shelves. I was worried that it was still under warranty. However when I called about getting it fixed I was told it's a lifetime warranty and free of charge for any damages! Interesting experience. Lylah was our contact and designer. Extremely professional upon arrival, she quickly surveyed our tiny condo to help us maximize our space and, most importantly, provide us with a wallbed (Murphy bed). Unfortunately the total size of the project was close to $14,000, so we had to narrow it down to what we absolutely needed. The design was BEAUTIFUL and absolutely what we wanted. So far that we give 5 stars. Scheduling (in the beginning) was flexible and for that we also give 5 stars. This include our own rescheduling due to a major change in our life plans. They were very accommodating. Unfortunately, actual scheduled day of installation was a complete disaster. One main employee quit on the job and the other was seemingly overwhelmed with the situation. It ultimately took over a month for California Closets to finally make things right. But, to the ultimate credit, they did make things right and the unit is very beautiful and functional. and for that we give 5 stars as well. And hey, stuff goes wrong, we understand. They key is that they delivered the product as ordered and did everything they could to rectify those things that went wrong. read more

Recently got my walk in closet redone with a closet system from California Closets. It took about two weeks from the time you place the order until they are able to install it. I worked with Jessica and Dean on the layout and design. They were very helpful and I enjoyed working with them. The price for the system includes installation so you don't have to worry about putting it up yourself. Which is good for me since I'm not that handy. I absolutely LOVE my new closet! Our designer Lylah was amazing through the entire process. She was so responsive, patient, accommodating...she was everything and more. I'm so glad we met her because i don't think anyone else could have done a better job. We initially only wanted to MAYBE do a closet system and pantry system depending on the price. I've never had done anything like this before so i didn't know what to expect. I'll be honest the estimate was more than we'd like, but then again you get what you pay for. I am normally the type to shop around to get the best bargain prices. After speaking to Lylah that didn't even cross my mind. She is so great at what she does. She really does make it pain and stress free. Even if the closet system and pantry system is more than we bargained for we went even further and got a floating tv system for the living room and master bedroom. On top of the we even had two free standing end tables/night stands customized for the living room and master bedroom. We are very please how everything turned out.
