Avoid this shop at all costs!!! Their work is terrible and falls apart, and their paint job does not last. Unfortunately, I took my vehicle to them two years ago for body work on my car's front side panel and front bumper. Two years later exactly, the bumper and side panel separated from each other, causing the bumper to begin to fall off. Additionally, the bumper had been replaced and painted to match my vehicle's body. In only two years, that paint had bubbled and started to feel like sand paper, instead of the nice, smooth paint coat the rest of my vehicle has. Since I had this work done through insurance, it was under warranty. When I called Caliber and spoke to Dan, he sounded skeptical about their work having failed, but told me to go ahead and bring my vehicle in. Sure enough, I brought my vehicle in and he had to admit that their work had failed. He walked around my whole vehicle, looking for any damage, so that he could get out of this warranty claim. When he finished his walk he said, "Well, your car is in great condition. It only has some minor door dings and some sun faded moldings." I knew this was the case, because I am the original owner of my vehicle and have taken exceptional care of it. I brought it in for his inspection on a Monday morning, at which time he told me that they were too busy to take my car until the following Monday. Frustrating, but I could clearly see that my warranty work was not his priority. I was also frustrated because I had brought my vehicle back to them shortly after the work was originally completed two years ago, because my hood started rocking and vibrating loudly while I was driving down the freeway. I had told them when I picked up my vehicle that the panels just did not fit correctly like they had before my accident, nor did they have the same spacing as the panels on the other side of my vehicle. At that time, Greg told me that was as good as it was going to get, but they would adjust the hood for the vibration they had created. When my husband opened the hood to look under it while we were there for the adjustment, he immediately noticed that they had put in a refurbished headlight that had a part incorrectly welded on the top, and it was preventing the hood from sitting flat. Greg tried to argue that it was acceptable, because they only send passable refurbished parts. However, it was not acceptable to us, so at that time, two years ago, Caliber had to replace the bad headlight that they had cut corners and put in, hoping we would not notice. You can now imagine my frustration now that their complete work has failed two years later. Long story short, they replaced the after market bumper and after market side panel with OEM parts this time around, admitting that the after market parts were not quite the right size. However, they tried to blame that on the insurance company not wanting to pay for anything other that after market parts. That is a load of crap! All Caliber would have had to do at the time is tell them that the after market parts did not fit correctly. Upon picking my vehicle up this time (two weeks later!), I noticed that the paint job looks better, however, the panels are still not spaced correctly. When I mentioned this to Greg, he told me, "That's what you get when you want OEM parts. They are always too tight." He was basically scolding me for wanting OEM parts. Besides, what a stupid line! OEM parts are what come on the vehicle and have the best fit. I am confident that the underneath body work was never done correctly, which is why the panels are still not fitting right. Additionally, upon picking up my vehicle, I noticed that it had spider web cracking and a chip on the back bumper. This damage was not there when I turned my vehicle in to Caliber. Dan at Caliber took pictures with all of the dings marked on my vehicle when he checked it in. This area of cracking has no mark and is not visible in the pictures. When I showed this problem to Dan, he lied to my face and told me he had marked it in the pictures. I pointed out the unmarked area on his own pictures, and told him I was shown the check-in diagram of my vehicle, which clearly had written in red, "standard wear and tear," with no notation of the cracking! Still, he and Caliber Collision are refusing to make this right. When I called Dan a crook, he walked away from me and said he would not help me. So I am left with a permanently damaged vehicle. THIS SHOP IS DISHONEST AND CROOKED AND WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE. If you value your vehicle, steer clear! I am going to the Better Business Bureau about this matter! read more
