I am just going to state the facts of my situation…read more A medical emergency made us have to move to a lower floor apartment with an elevator in the SAME apartment community ( literally across the parking lot) Last Year with the same movers it took 4 hours to move 7 miles so I figured this time if we are moving from one building to the next in the same community it should only take about 3-4 hours again. It took 7 hours to move my two bedroom apartment. Also after those 7 hours there was still a footboard, tv and a lot of other things that didn't get moved. I asked for a two bedroom sized truck however, The 16ft truck that they came in was so narrow there was no way to fit all my things, it was not the typical moving truck nor was it the same size as the last time but the price was increased. My husband, who just got out of the hospital called to ask why they left so much stuff after 7 hours and they told him they would come back right then to finish but They never came back. I am so disappointed in this company. I feel like I was taken advantage of: the new worker barely wanted to move anything, I have Knicks and scrapes on my walls in the new unit and old, a hole in my couch that I haven't even had for a year, and I had to spend another 2.5 hours moving things in my pick up truck after paying them $780 to move me across the parking lot. Later that evening after I had to hire another moving company, Blake reached out. I explained to him that his crew did not show up and would like my money refunded. He stated that I needed to send him proof that I hired a new moving company and he would refund my money. My Moving Company had expressed an interest in taking care of my move. I followed the instructions from porch.com to call My Moving Company on July, 11, 2018. The man who took the call said he had nearly reached his destination and that he would call be back in 5 to 10 min. Here it is July 16, 2018, and I still have not received a return phone call from My Moving Company. I have already used another company who took care of our move. My Moving Company cannot be trusted. I would also be wary of porch.com since they recommended My Moving Company.
