Ate breakfast here twice in a four day stay. Definitely the best breakfast in the vicinity of our hotel. Good assortment of interesting and well prepared offerings, though not elaborate. Host and wait staff were friendly and efficient. Eclectic decor with modern furnishings and old/antique decorations made for a comfort and pleasant setting. Will eat here again in future visits. read more

For this type of place (breakfast primarily and lunch) it was excellent. A diverse menu with omelettes, biscuits and gravy etc. I had the chicken fried steak (aka Country Fried Steak for far north folks), scrambled eggs, hash browns and a biscuit with a side of gravy plus coffee. Service was friendly and excellent. Several additional items available like jellies, two hot sauces etc. highly recommend. Not a light breakfast place but a good one! read more

On Sunday 31 Mat at 11 am I arrived to meet friends before I returned to California after being in KC for a week. I had my little well behaved dog with me. He is not a barker... a Shitzthu ... I saw that there was outside seating from going by to a friends house on a previous day. So thought great outdoor seating and my dog Biscuit would be able to sit on the patio. Well Caleb's does not allow dogs on the patio even. So 6 people for breakfast turned away. We walked down to Crows the Coffee Shop and no problem to sit outside with my pet. Seems all is needed to get a permit from the city. Guess Caleb's does not need the business... as a person visiting KC did not leave a position feeling and for someone who use to live in KC. I have been to other restaurants in KC with my pet and sat outside with no problem. Needless to say I will not go to Caleb's again when visiting in KC... read more

The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. I had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and side salad. I'll be back to try more

Oof. I ordered 1/2 portion of biscuit and gravy (to try for comparison), and a Canadian bacon English muffin Eggs Benedict. So I had to add pepper and salt(!) to make the gravy have some sort of flavor - not just a pasty taste. The biscuit seemed like one out of a Wonderbread bag from the grocery, nothing going for it. Worst of all was the Hollandaise sauce, it was totally broken. I mean a homemade sauce that's obviously broken (overcooked egg yolks) shouldn't be served, period. The potatoes on the side I expected to be like typical breakfast chunks, but I got hasbrowns for some reason. All in all, if you enjoy food that's similar to a grade school cafateria, you might find this place to your liking. I won't be back. read more

I liked the flexible menu, which offered breakfast or lunch items all day. My Santa Fe salad with muffin of the day ($8.99) was served in just 12 minutes. The salad was delicious, with a generous portion of grilled chicken, and a tasty dressing. The muffin was warm, moist, and also delicious. The dining area was fairly open, with classical background music, while the service was cheerful and attentive. Overall, very nice! read more

My husband and I were so excited to try this new breakfast place by our house and it did not disappoint! I got the classic two egg breakfast with bacon, hash browns, and a biscuit with gravy. The biscuits and gravy may have been the best I've ever had! My husband got a cinnamon roll and it was also very good. Dena was an incredible server and was very kind and attentive. I highly recommend coming here for breakfast! read more

Just ate here with the whole family. The waitress was friendly and accommodating for my special needs child. We order breakfast and lunch items and all were fresh and delicious. A nice place to take your family or groups of friends for a relaxing and inviting breakfast or lunch. Bonus, my kids gave the ranch two thumbs up! read more

The food is always phenomenal and well worth the wait if you go on the weekend. Would definitely recommend the biscuits and gravy but haven't had a meal yet that I didn't like! read more

Such a cute little diner! Definitely has that diner vibe, perfect for an easygoing brunch that isn't too fancy. Had lots of food options, I got a sandwich and it was delicious~ the staff was friendly and very attentive. read more

Great food, I liked their French toast quite a bit! Service was slow, maybe because they were busy. I was by myself and it took a lot longer than I expected to stop in for breakfast. read more

Love the service - friendly and very helpful. The food is really good! Nice and cozy place

The staff is friendly, and it is always clean. I've been here multiple times and keep trying to like it, but the food is just OK. Nothing stands out about the food. read more

Loved the shrimp and grits and the French toast. The service was great. Nice clean space.

We love Caleb's! Everything on the menu is amazing (And we've tried a lot of it!) Great and fast service too.

Eaten there 3 days in a row and it has been absolutely delicious each time. Waitstaff are very friendly as well. Highly recommend!

I really wanted to give this place a higher rating because of the overall score, but at this point I dont think I can. I would love to say it earned at 3.5 rating, though. I will definitely be back to try it out again. The staff was super great and the environment is nice; I enjoyed the soft music and the art work on the walls. The reason I am only giving Calebs a 3.5 is because the food was not as good as I was hoping for. I had the stuffed french toast. The eggs and sausage on the inside tasted good, but the french toast itself was pretty disappointing. My husband had the SoCal omlette and he said it was "good, not great." I did have a taste of his hash browns and biscuit and those were great. We also split a cinnamon roll. It was nice and warm and not as bready as a lot of large cinnamon rolls are, which was nice. There was a lot of promise in this visit and unfortnuately it wasnt delivered like I had hoped, but it was nice enough that I will be going back for a second try at some point. read more

Love this place! I go there on Sundays with friends and families. I typically ordered the buffalo chicken salad or California omelet for breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and great service! read more

Caleb's feels like what every home ought to be: a safe, warm, hopeful, comforting place to rest and re-fuel with generous, still-affordable portions of comforting meals one might imagine Mom would whip up for you in fifteen minutes. The staff is always friendly (even when very busy), and however and whoever you might walk into Caleb's with, you always leave as friends. The community and warmth this place inspires can't help but leave a smile on your face and in your heart! I've been a loyal customer for years and always being visitors over so they can get a taste of the kindness Kansas City offers. read more

I was really impressed with this restaurant. With Covid rampaging our cities it is really hard to feel comfortable with eating out, but we were going to the dentist and wanted to eat. My wife found this place and we were not expecting much. But BAM, the servers were friendly (they just went gaga over our daughters) and the food was great! The portions were so much we had to get doggie bags. Yes this place is going on the "To-go-To list" and is highly recommended for you to try. read more

A couple friends of my mine had tried Caleb's and recommended it to me. It is a sit down breakfast restaurant, which I'm always leery of. I appreciate severs and waitresses but I don't love halving to drop $12 or more on breakfast. (My tab at Big Biscuit one time with my son was $35...) I got the breakfast sandwich and my wife got the breakfast biscuit and my kiddos got waffles and bacon. My assessment of the quality of the food was that of a sub par diner. I wasn't expecting a diner at all. The food was mediocre at best. My sandwich didn't have cheese on it, which the menu advertised and the waiter didn't check on us after we got our food to see if we needed anything. The waffles had that "from a box" taste. I assume little pieces of cardboard mix with the flour and give it an unpleasant flavor. I won't be back. Wasn't horrible but wasn't good. I'd rather hit up other local diners: Jerrys, TJs etc read more

We went for Mother's Day at someone else's suggestion. I'd say this place was average at best. The highlight was the Roasterie coffee, but I can get that at home. Hubs had the salmon omelette...egg was dry, everything was flavorless. Couldn't taste the salmon. No salt. Hash browns were blah he said. My son ordered two eggs and bacon, which we were charged $8.99 for. I had to get that fixed. Pancake was good...they charged extra to make it chocolate chip. I had the heart health eggs...it was fine. Service was ok. We had one waiter that was friendly. Another one that seemed annoyed. Tax rate is 11.55% here too. We'll stay in OP for breakfast. read more

I didn't know this place existed. It's a bit far for me to drive all the time but I truly enjoyed everything I tried. The service was great! Try it!! read more

I've only been once so this is a first impression review. Breakfast was OK, nothing really stood out about the food. Service was mediocre. I didn't get a friendly vibe from any of the workers. If you live in the area give the place a try, I'm all for supporting local business. read more

This has now become my weekend breakfast stop as the food is really good home cooking, reasonably priced, and quick. The menu has almost too many options but well rounded. I have had their basic breakfast with eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, and toast. Easy but well cooked and delicious. I have also tried one omelet and pancakes and no complaints regarding food. The wait staff is sufficient. Not overly friendly and not super attentive but not a distraction to the food quality, the reasonable prices, and pace in and out the door. I would check it out. read more

I had an online order that emailed me to pick it up at 10:44 am. I walked in at 10:49. I greeted the waitress who was looking down at the register with a " Hello." She stated, "Yes?". I said, "I have to go order for Linda Locketfoodt." The waitress turned around and looked behind her to the bagged order on the shelf, and said, it must not ready be ready yet, and she and the other waitress that was standing behind her left. I stepped to the side and waited. I noticed a couple of waitresses come to the register and then leave. No new bagged order came out. After 10 minutes, a waiter came to the register ( without a new bagged order). I approached him to ask how long my order for Linda Lockett would be. He turned to the shelf and looked at the order that was sitting when I first came in and said, "Oh, here is your order." Disappointed, I said I told the other waitress I was there 10 minutes ago to get a pickup oder, and she looked at it and said my oder was not ready, but it was. He said well I don't know why she said that, I was not here, but here you go." And then he left. $37.00 for cold food sitting from service that did not seem to be bothered to help read more

I adore this place. Nice people. Nice atmosphere. Food is THE BOMB! Come here. Eat. Repeat. Love me some Caleb's.

Gods food. Breakfast was delicious. The service was excellent.Definitely will return.

This place has taken our top spot for breakfast near us. I'm pretty sure I'll never eat at the big biscuit again, and we have already eaten there again since our first visit. The building is clean and welcoming. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the menu is diverse and delicious. We got the breakfast quesadilla and the spicy biscuit sandwich. Both were awesome, but the biscuit sandwich is TO DIE FOR and it's only $5! LOVE CALEB'S. read more

First off I want to say Happy Pride Month. I feel obligated to write this review as I would never want others to experience what my wife and I did at this restaurant. We were from out of town and a relative said this place was close and they have breakfast so we went. We put our name in for myself +3 which included my wife, my son, and our uncle. We sat there and watched others be seated, many of whom arrived long, long after us. After a quick trip to the restroom with our son, my wife said the host was rude to her and that a table has been sitting over there for a while (3 adult menus and a kids menu). The host finally called my name and pointed at that table with a short "You're table is over there." She did not see us and barely looked up. This may not seem like much but it definitely felt discriminatory to us. Now, we could be wrong about this place and I hope we are. The waitress we had was very nice and could tell I was upset but assumed it was for the wait. The food was pretty good too. Maybe it was just the one person? And while this place has lots of crosses up for decor, I never want to assume that it's a religion that is not accepting of LGBTQA+. Nonetheless I feel like I should put this story out there. read more

From California just passing through. Found this spot on yelp and decided to try it out. This restaurant did NOT disappoint. Everything was amazing. Coffee was soo good I actually had 3 cups of it, rather then the 1 I normally have. I had the pancake platter with blueberry pancakes. The pancakes were tasty and soft. Service was great. Was seated right away and they gave us water right away. Super friendly and accommodating. Hope to visit here again just so I can taste this delicious food again. read more

I have eaten here a couple times and the food is good. The salmon omelet is very nice.

Popped over for lunch after visiting wonderscope next door. Wait was quick and got seated shortly after. Our server must have forgotten about us multiple times because we found ourselves waiting quite a bit throughout different times of our visit. We were never checked on after our food was eventually dropped off and one member of our parties sandwich was served with mold on it. At the end, our server continued to walk past us without bringing a check and we had to go to the front to ask to pay so we didn't have to keep waiting. The tables around us seemed to be well taken care of. We did not have a good experience here and would not return based off of it. read more
