Love coming here!! I had some family come to town so we decided to stop by here for lunch. A couple of them got the bbq salad with brisket. I split 1/2 lbs brisket and a sausage link. We got a pint of corn casserole and an individual size of mac & cheese. Everything was so good!!! I love the sides here. They don't sound like anything special but they're super tasty. The meat is really good, juicy, and flavorful. The parking lot was full but there wasn't really a wait once we got inside to order. You order at the counter and they prepare your tray as you go down the line. For a group of 5, the total was only $75 which is not bad! There's plenty of seating outside and it felt pretty good in the shade. The employees were really nice and friendly. A couple of them stopped by our table to ask how things were.
Fantastic bbq place, with rustic decor and relaxed ambiance. The smokers are impressive, and the food is tasty. In fact, having lived in Austin and knowing how good brisket tastes like, this is quite close to the real texas style. Friendly service. Will come bqck here soon.
Went with friends for dinner tonight & we could smell the food from the parking lot! We were greeted upon arrival. We were offered yummy samples & all I could say was "Wow, this is damn good!" We each placed our orders. My friend & her man ordered the Family of 4 meal, which looked & smelled so good! They ate & took the rest home to have leftovers. My other friend & I both got a loaded baked potato with sausage, plus she got a side of cole slaw with hers. I knew as big as their potatoes are that I'd eat half & take the rest home, so I only got the potato. So damn good! I love that Coke products are served here. You know me & my Coke Zero! My friends come here enough that the owner, Mason, knows them well. Mason is awesome & so is his crew. Very, VERY good service, a super clean restaurant, & by far the BEST barbecue place in the valley! Mason & his assistant manager both came to our table to ask how our food was. We were all very happy with our meals & when it came time to go home, Mason brought us bags to put our to-go food home in & also brought us some delicious banana pudding to take home! If you haven't been here, you MUST go & try it! I highly recommend it & say hello to Mason & crew!
On Sunday, 8/16, my friend was craving BBQ and invited me. I am a new resident of Arizona of one year and I'm still exploring many places and things. Anyway, we arrive at Caldwell County BBQ (Gilbert location) and this was my first time ever dining here. The ambiance is laid back, social, and friendly. Let me say that this place did NOT disappoint whatsoever. The (lean) brisket is so delicious! I hadn't had a baked potato in a very long time and that, too, was delicious. The restaurant is always busy but in a good way, which is understandable. The staff are really welcoming and friendly, which is great and my first time experience was positive. I almost came back for another order of brisket, maybe sliders or a salad the following day but I am holding off for now, but I will be back again for sure. Yum! If you're want delicious BBQ, visit Caldwell County BBQ. They have several locations throughout Phoenix area.
My husband and I just found our new neighborhood BBQ spot and we couldn't be happier! The brisket is succulent and flavorful, not to mention how delicious each homemade barbecue sauce is. The macaroni and cheese had an insane flavor profile, corn casserole has become a newfound favorite and the Texas sheet cake blew me away to a chocolatey heaven. The owner and staff members encompass that good ol southern hospitality. And the pitmaster Chad was kind enough to give us a tour of the pit and taught us a few things about Texas style BBQ. I only have photos of the amazing atmosphere because I managed to practically inhale my plate before a photo could be taken.
It was really yummy! I'm not usually a brisket girl, but it honestly wasn't bad for my first time trying it! The mac & cheese was pretty good too. It amazes me how they can cook in this Arizona heat, though! The ovens were already turned off, and it was STILL so hot inside from when they had been running! Overall, it's a fun place to go with family or a group of friends. And the brownie was DELICIOUS!!! Definitely one of my favorite parts!
This was our first experience at Caldwell County BBQ. We are in town from Vegas visiting family and they highly recommended this spot! So our expectations, of course, were very high! Upon entry they have a cold water station and a menu. The menu is very extensive and everything sounds amazing! We wanted brisket, sausage, and mac & cheese. You order at the counter and they make everything fresh as you watch! It was an experience in itself. We passed the corn casserole and I said, oo that looks yummy! The gentleman, Ben, behind the counter asked if we wanted to try it first and gave us a sample. I was immediately hooked and ordered one of those as well! The family got sandwiches, mac & cheese & chili. Prices were ridiculously reasonable for all the food we got! Tasha was excellent and walked us through our insane order :) she was patient and kind with out crazy. The seating is both indoor and outdoor. Rustic picnic benches with umbrellas and misters! It really was a lovely atmosphere and an amazing meal! When I asked for a manager to let them know how wonderful our experience was he was kind and hyped up his employees, and thanked us for coming in. He then proceeded to invite us back and promised they'll take even better care of us next time! There will definitely be a next time, sir, as you now have customers for life! Thank you for making us feel so welcomed, feeding us amazing food, and being kind. It really makes a difference.
Friends!!!! FIRST time here, and let me tell you.....I AM NOT DISSAPOINTED!!! The food was hot, flavorful, and filling!!! Huge portions! Mason.....who helped us, AMAZING!! The restaurant, BUSY!!! Which tells you one thing....the food is good!!! Super buzzy environment, everyone laughing and eating!!! Definitely will come back!!! Try the loaded potato with brisket....it did not disappoint!!! We have been meaning to try this place. You can smell the smokers in the air. Today we were able to stop for lunch. They were busy! Parking lot was full. They have a small indoor area with tables with many more outside with misters. It was 112 today so we waited for an indoor table. I thought to myself, it must be really good as there were many people outside in the extreme heat to have lunch . We ordered 2 brisket sandwiches, I got a side of their potato salad and my wife got a side of corn casserole. Wow! The brisket is so delicious! The sides were also very good. If you want good, authentic bbq, this is the place. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Absolutely delicious!!
5/6/26 Today was my Neighbors 89th Birthday, the celebration was food for 30 people managed as Filipino family service. Parking 5/5 We arrived at 6 pm and took one of the last spots in the back. Service 10/5 Celebration arrangements were done by my neighbors amazing daughter who ordered the Full Monte sampler which included generous portions of protein, all the sides and drinks. Seating 15/5 Anyone familiar with Caldwells business model knows this is a wait inline to order, move over to the cashier then search for seatings which can be challenging at best during peak lunch & dinner hours. In our case the Caldwell's manager Torrin personally re-arranged tables so our group could be seated together and included one table for all the food and gifts. Food 10/5 This rating recognizes Caldwell's BBQ is wildly popular. Pushing it higher for this experience was how the food was delivered to the party. Once our party of 30 were seated together, four + large variety platters of protein, sides and fountain beverages were placed on a serving table family style. Atmosphere 5/5 The back patio was our celebration location and it was filling up quickly and we gathered for the celebration. During the course of our visit we enjoyed the transition from daylight to evening where the atmosphere of the back patio began to soften with a wonderful span of string patio lighting for outdoor ambiance. This quickly became an extremely fun place to move table to table visiting with everyone. My neighbors family (11 siblings, 9 stateside) are Doctors and Nurses who served in the VA Hospitals throughout the US and their families who have treated me as family over the years. What a beautiful family and culture. Caldwell's staff To Torrin. Malissa our birthday Girl's daughter made all the arrangements and surprise us with a banquet; and you delivered big time for this celebration!m. From getting our food out to arranging tables to keep our large group together is truly amazing! The entire Caldwell team has our sincere gratitude. Food and venue were off the carts to handle a Luau style feast like this. Clearly the Caldwell's team went above and beyond for us! Thinking about BBQ my friends, stop thinking and get to Caldwell's Country BBQ-SYOY!
We love this place if you're looking for amazing barbecue friendly staff and great customer service highly recommend. The outdoor area is super cute. Sadly we didn't get to sit out there because it was over 100° if you're looking for an awesome barbecue place you have to try this one.
Amazing BBQ find in Gilbert and I had this place bookmarked for a while. They have huge smokers/pits in the back and you know it's legit. I ordered the pork ribs as it's one of my favorite things and it was so good, I had to stop myself from eating the full rack in one seating. They are not shy on the pepper so it has some heat. Sauces include house and AZ gold mustard base. They gave me a brisket sample while I was in line and it was so melt in your mouth. Huge seating area outside and they also have inside AC seating. Private parking lot. Please come and create your own adventure.
The food here is phenomenal fresh the service is awesome along with the whole setting of country bbq this is the place to be if you want good bbq.

Took my family from out of town here when they came to visit! We went to the location in Pecan lake and it was wonderful. It's a go to spot for families, especially those that have kids, but we came here mainly for their bbq joint. The bbq was good- tender, savory and full of flavor. I have tried real Texas bbq back when I went to Austin so nothing compares to that bbq, still my forever favorite - but this did suffice. Family was happy and full so all good. It's one of the only few options we got here in Arizona so can't complain. But go try it for yourself, should not be disappointed. read more

Worth the 45 minute drive from Phoenix! We were in Phoenix/Scottsdale vacationing for a week. Today my wife told me no breakfast till 1100 hours. She told me to drive and I did straight hostage style! Luckily for me around 1056 hours, we pulled up to Caldwell County BBQ. What a beautiful surprise! Doors were just about to open and I could smell the amazing BBQ smoke in the air. The grounds of the Caldwell County BBQ house are very beautiful with plenty of seating. Staff was extremely kind allowing us first timers to even sample their amazing brisket. We ordered up half pound brisket, half pound turkey,half pound of pulled pork, two jalapeño cheddar sausages, and one amazing banana pudding. Its been said many times before me here, however from a guy who has had many many BBQs including Rodney Scott's BBQ in Charleston, South Carolina, Pit Room BBQ, in Houston,Texas, and now Caldwell County BBQ. Caldwell County BBQ is some of the best tasting BBQ you will find in America!!! After packing up my to go box I was admiring the smokers out back. A young pit master wearing a Melin hat asked my wife if we wanted to see a smoker full of briskets? Yes Absolutely! We got a quick glance at the cook craft real time. After looking into Yelp, I had to check this place out when I was visiting! Be ready to wait in a long line if you show up during prime meal hours. Line wrapped around the inside of the building and went outside all the way to the parking lot! That's how you know it's gonna be good. Luckily, we beat the crowd. Indoor and outdoor seating. Casual atmosphere. Place your order at the register and they bring it out to you when it's ready. Fast and friendly service. We split the family of four pack and got a couple extra sides. Everything was amazing! Meat was extremely tender and delicious. Three kinds of bbq sauce at each table to drown your food in. Plenty of food for four, so they don't rip you off on quantity. yea this place is the spot! it's been a few days and I'm still thinking about the juicy meat and Mac and cheese! All the meats were so tender and melted in my mouth, also perfect amt of salt and smoke flavor. We came during a busy time but the line moved fast and I liked that they gave us samples of each meat to try. At first I was concerned to find seating but they have a lot of inside and outside seating and the ambiance is nice and better than I expected. Came during the weekday for lunch. It was busy but line moves consecutively. There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. The ambiance is nice. Staff is friendly and attentive. We ordered a couple of sandwiches and ribs with sides to try. The food was good, I would not say it's the best I've had but definitely good. They have three different type of sauces. Me and my significant other drive 40 minutes just to eat this amazing bbq. Best BBQ spot in AZ. The vibe is very rustic and has all the working smokers in the outside patio. They have beautiful hanging lights and cute wooden benches. Service is amazing. Everyone working there is happy to be there and even lets you try some of the fresh meat they cooked. The food is to die for. They have juicy baby back ribs and you can choose a variety of sauces to pour into the meats. We've been here a few times and the food was great all of those times. The parking lot was small so you might have issues finding a spot. On our most recent visit, we waited in a long line but it was good to help us decide what to order. We were debating on buying meat per pound or a sandwich. We ended up ordering the El General Patton with mac n cheese, the Dixie V with creamy cornbread, an order of sausage, and banana pudding. They prepared the food in front of us so there was really not much waiting. Everybody was really nice! When we were outside finding a seat, one of the girls working here helped us bring the sauces to our table so that was nice. The outside seating was nice with the lights. The El General Patton was delicious and I would recommend it if you're wanting to try three different meats (brisket, pulled pork, and sausage). The order of sausage was delicious and the Dixie V had just brisket which was good too. The hot and spicy sauce was good but I liked their house BBQ sauce the most. The banana pudding was a bit sweet but still good to me. You can go wrong with any meat here and I'll definitely keep coming back. Delicious! read more

Seen them on Instagram and finally got to try them today! Very limited parking but when we came it was barely packed at 12 (an hour after they opened) but lot got full quick shortly after we arrived. Super friendly and welcoming at the Gilbert location, yet have to try the Queen Creek location which is bigger with fun events onsite, where this location is small but simply well worth the visit! I loved the whole outdoor layout vibe, very cute and well kept, they even have misters! There is indoor dining area as well. We got their "Family Meal of 4" with choice of turkey, brisket and pulled pork and sides of macaroni and cheese and corn casserole. We all devoured it! We ordered 2 BBQ Salads to go home with to eat later for dinner, it was delicious! read more

This place is fire ! Our son has been telling us about it for quite a while now but we live waaay across town. Found ourselves nearby today and wow, it did not disappoint. This is Texas BBQ at its best in AZ! I'm salivating thinking about my lunch. They have smoked brisket, turkey and pulled pork. Ordered a couple of sliders each so we could try two different types of meat. We also got two sides to share. The corn casserole was homey and delicious and the mac & cheese was yummy too. Sampled the coleslaw as well, which I will be getting next time (and more corn ). Most barbecue places don't have the best sides but these guys have made theirs exceptionally delicious! They offered a side of pickles, onions, and jalapeños that we could put on our sandwiches. One of the managers came over and chatted with us at our table as well as one of the employees. They are incredibly friendly and helpful there. On the tables, you will find all three of their sauces. Each one of them is available for purchase, along with other merchandise. We left with a bottle of Arizona Gold (a decadent mustard BBQ sauce). So happy to hear that they will be opening two new locations, one in Scottsdale and one in Peoria in 2026. Hallelujah! This is hands down some of the best bbq you will ever taste. It's worth the trek across the valley. Tucked away off of Warner and Power- you'll want to aim for non peak times because parking is limited. Primary seating is outdoors on picnic tables. Go for the sliders- the amount of meat you get is unreal, then snag the coleslaw, pickles, potato salad and corn casserole you won't be disappointed. There will most definitely be a line but they move quickly and the service is great! read more

Came by at 11am on a Thursday and it was very busy. Line wasn't too bad as people were quickly given their orders. Heard a lot of positive things about this place and now I can agree! Ordered the family meal for 4. Meats were nicely smoked and tender. Fell in love with their house bbq sauce (bought a couple bottles to bring home!) Overall, great crew, good bbq, and quick service! FYI, parking can be limited so plan accordingly! read more

This has to be one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at and I'm not super big on BBQ! Food was delicious, the place was very clean, and staff were so kind and helpful!! Andrew literally went above and beyond for us today, if I had a business I would want a dozen of him!! Trent was super cool answering all my husband's questions about the process of BBQing here! We live in hour away and I think I would make the drive for the food and customer service over and over again!! The banana pudding was some of the best I've ever had. I had a pretty big piece of fat, which isn't my thing, but everything was so yummy!!! And best part as a woman and mom the bathroom was so clean Congratulations Caldwell, you guys have outdone yourself, hope to get a location in North Peoria!!! read more
