Me: Yes actually (my mother in law was paying for the food, she was sitting in the car) Employee: Oh, do they buy your clothes too? Me: No? Employee: Well you should work on that. Now I kinda laughed it off and left. I was working in my yard so my shirt had some dirt on it. The entire ride home I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt that she didn't mean anything rude by it. I was talking to my family going over every possible interpretation of what she could have meant. But after reading several reviews about how rude she is, I have accepted that she was literally insulting my appearance and the way I looked. I honestly can't remember the last time someone was rude just to be rude. Also, please know that I will be contacting the BBB, making an entire post about it on the Wallkill/Walden Facebook groups and Neighborhoods. The fact that there are so many bad reviews about this one person and she is still there tells me that either management simply doesn't care or she is the owner. They let us carry our deposit into this year. I have been involved in youth hockey for 18 years. This is THE BEST banquet facility I have ever seen in our area. Our group was 65 people. The room we were in could have easily accommodated far more. The layout was perfect. Most importantly.... the food was excellent. It was served buffet style. I have come to expect mediocre fare over the years from other venues but Spruce Lodge put out a spread that had the players and parents raving. The chicken parm was delicious and moist! The Caesar salad was fresh and crisp. They had marinated vegetables on skewers that I couldn't stop eating. The steak was superb. I did not have the penne ala vodka but reports from one of our senior players, leading defenseman and known food snob (my kid) said "this is the best I have ever had. Anywhere". The staff was very nice. Special shout out to the bartender- the facility has a nice bar set up in a perfect location adjacent to the banquet area. I forgot to get her name but she was dealing with a bunch of thirsty hockey parents and high school aged boys loading up on. Shirley Temples and Coke. Friendly and fast. It was not due to be picked up until 1:30-2:00 the next day . I could not reach anyone in the Shop from home at the store , and the next day when I did reach someone , I was told by the Store Representative that they do that randomly to orders at times for convenience o their part ( saying it's processed and locking you out of this useful feature) this is done so that they can have a leg up for the orders for the next day . This is not fair to the customers , and again my order was not due to be picked up until 1:30-2:00 the NEXT day. If you are going to offer a feature for a SERVICE to your CUSTOMERS , you should not be allowed to pick and choose which ones you lock out just because of convenience on the Shoppers Part, as to which customer can and can't utilize that feature , their should be a cut off time , and not have it implemented only five minutes after placing an order, for again , the night BEFORE the pickup time . Very disappointed in the service at Shop Rite in Montgomery.
