They keep sending me an invoice for water softener work done in 2022 when nothing was done or fixed. In fact, after that service call I had to pay someone $700 to rebuild tank and unit. After the service call unit did not work. Technician failed to check the system or properly service the brine tank to insure that system was properly functioning. REWARE. Jose is either incompetent, or fraudulent with Bait and Switch tactics. I was billed a trip charge with one and a half hours labor (during my absence.) Conclusion was "Inability to access (legal disclaimer) : pump at or below water table. May require drilling." Second contractor gained testing access by punching out sealing plug, and confirmed water table is 80 ft. above well pump. Installing a new pump corrected all (no water) output problems. Suspected first diagnostic was misleading as "Nothing was done." Complaining to Cal Aqua was not productive, not cooperative with bill adjustment. (I would be willing to pay the trip charge. What's fair is fair." Red flags: Demand cash or checks on first visit. License number and address on invoice are obsolete. Early 5-star reviews are neat and detailed with documenting photos (most customers would not provide) as if they are staged by friends and family. Don't take my word for it. You be the judge. I will follow-on with state legislators to refer to regulatory agencies to prevent others from falling prey to this company. State licensing and consumer agencies, when warranted, would send an undercover agent to investigate. They should close their doors. (My documents are available upon earnest request.) read more

Melody and her skilled crew continue to provide me with the level of service that is hard to come by now days...its an old school professional understanding of their trade. That's how I grew up around here. We are a agricultural community. I went with another company at first....It was a mess. I have an 80 year old well that wasn't working . Its about 120 ft deep. Cal Aqua, aka environmental aqua used to be a great company, but something serious has happened over the last several years causing us to have our service provided by another company at significant inconvenience to us. The office staff has refused to honor valid/current warranties, has failed to return repeated calls and makes lame excuses like "you must have left several messages on someone else's phone, because we would have called you back, really." Do yourself a favor and start with a responsible company from the beginning of your project, lest you find yourselves in the difficult spot we were in. I have been a customer of Cal aqua for over a decade. They manage the water from my well which is very hard and have recently installed a new pump on my 200 foot well. When the pump didn't sufficiently fill the pressure tanks they replaced it with a larger pump at no additional cost to me. I made an appointment for a estimate, no call and no show. I called back to see what happened, the receptionist related they moved to contactless estimates. Cal aqua requested I send in photos of where I wanted the water system installed. I submitted the required info and she related they would send me a quote the next day. I received a quote almost two weeks later. After an apology email I agreed to the price and set up a installation of the water system on July 8th, the appointment time was between 8:00 -10-00 am. At 12:00 am nobody had arrived. I called again, no answer. We called at 2:00pm and got a receptionist that related she could not find us on her schedule, really??. I called to have our water tested. I told them we wanted to determine the quality of water from our well and that we are seeing some slight stains and early corrosion on fixtures. I mentioned I wanted to see the hardness and any minerals in there that might cause staining. I even mentioned it to the representative that came and took the sample. Apparently when they recommended the portability test, they failed to mention that this test only tests bacteria and nothing that I had originally asked for. In my first contact I mentioned that the reason we wanted to get this test was to determine what type of filter or softener would should get. So after $200+ for a test that didn't help us, now they want more money to test what I had originally asked for. If you choose to use this place be sure to clarify everything you are expecting ahead of time. read more

After seeing some previous reviews I was worried about using this company but I'm glad I did. The low pressure cut off switch on my well pump went out and I had no water to the house. I had the new part already and just needed someone to install it. Worshams wouldn't even consider coming out to do it but Cal Aqua sent a tech out within a couple of hours! Javier was friendly , professional and helpful. He gave me a few tips on troubleshooting well water pump issues because I was clueless and I really appreciated that. He was finished in less than an hour and the cost was just over $200. Granted, I don't know if this is a good price or not, since it was all labor and no parts, but it was worth it to get water on again so quickly. We contacted Cal Aqua because we have well water and want a water system. We spoke extensively with Melody. We were told they would test our water and then give us options for water softening/treatment. Cal Aqua tested our water 4/3/18 and told us we needed some potable bleaching done. We had this done 4/5/18 (we have since found out that we absolutely did not need this done) & we paid the bill immediately. We never heard from them again. We called 2 weeks later and they stated they had answering service issues & never got our messages. A week later, we called again and the receptionist stated she would have someone call me back. We still haven't heard back from them as of may 1st. Absolutely horrible company. 8/25/19 update: I wanted to comment about your response to my review of my experience , Lisa J. I have never spoken to you but I definitely know my experience. Since you feel my name is a concern.......My first name is very ethnic and most people cannot say it. Some people that share my ethnicity do call my by my first name. However, my childhood nickname is "Meri" (most of my family calls me this) from my middle name and it was the name I used in school. My maiden last name is M. Hence, Meri M. I also use it for several of my social media. Yelp allows some anonymity to protect customers. Especially for a companies that are feeling defensive and angry about a review. If you look at my reviews, more are positive then negative. Our experience with your company was very negative. Lisa, I have never spoken to you. I wish we could have been able to communicate with you about our experience. I disagree with some of what you wrote. This may be because you have not spoken to me or my husband. We originally reached out to your company because we had concerns about our well water. We wanted to have a water treatment system because of our concerns (we have several children, not just one). We were told that we need to have bleaching of our water system done because of the e.coli. And we did it. We very much understood the health implications for e.coli. We questioned some of what was verbally stated to us. Some of it did not make sense. We were told we would be emailed options. We never heard from your company again. We called several times and then emailed to find out what the next steps were. We did not just want a water softener. We were concerned because we purchased a property that was neglected for many years and the surrounding area is heavily sprayed with pesticides. After several unreturned phone calls (left on Melodies direct vm and with someone in your office), my husband sent Melody an email 5/1/18 (to her calaqua email account) asking for follow up so we knew what our next steps should be. If you cannot see the email, I would be happy to forward it to you. It is very clear from the email that nobody was following up with us and we wanted to move forward with some sort of water system. This left us so upset. After about 2 months, we had 2 other water companies come out and they each gave us very different options for a water treatment systems. We chose one and had an extensive water system and shed installed. We were told by both people that gave us estimates that we had other options other than putting bleach into our well. And since you never spoke to me and what I said was taken out of context.....I will clarify, I had stated that it is funny that I grew up in a very poor, rural area (not in Nebraska, lol) with nothing but well water and there was no water testing or water systems. I know the water was contaminated. I stated it was a wonder how we were all living. I still find that amusing. However, I do not debate the seriousness of e. coli. We were the ones looking for a water system! Your company may normally provide excellent service, but that was not our experience. And it also does not negate how we were treated. It left us angry. It still makes us upset. It made use feel that your company may have been dishonest and did not value us as a customer. We wanted others to know our experience. We feel your company does water testing and mainly well service but may not have the capabilities to offer options install water systems and just left us hanging. Responsive, fairly priced, thorough...those are the service qualities I hoped for when our well pump shut down on a Sunday and we ended up with no water. After trying several companies in the Vacaville area, we found Cal Aqua on Yelp. I called and left a message...hoping to get a call back. Bud called within 5 minutes and was on site within the hour. He replaced the part that was needed and we had water within 2 hrs of his arrival. He took the time to evaluate the whole system and provide recommendations. His pricing was fair...especially for an emergency weekend call.
