After discovering my new to me house has a whole water filter and a mysterious blue tank I called Blue Fountain Water to get it back up and running. Everyone I interacted with was very pleasant and helpful! I suggest calling in the morning. It seems later in the afternoon the techs and sales people go out into the field. When I called a warehouse worker picked up. He tried his best and took a detailed message. I got a call from Randy the next day. We scheduled an assessment. He was willing to work with my schedule and come a bit later in the day. He was also upfront about what conditions he wouldn't be able to help me with (if it's already being serviced by someone else etc). Randy is very passionate about water! It's clear when you talk to him. He was able to easily figure out that blue tank is a carbon resin filter. He was able to talk me through my options and give a written estimated cost. Later on I received a call from the tech to schedule the service. I told him I'd need to be out of town in the afternoon and again he was able to work with me and told me he's arrive at the earlier side of the arrival window which worked out great! I called the day of to confirm the appointment. Randy picked up! I looked up the tech's schedule and helped confirm the tech should arrive on the earlier end of the window. The cost for a resin filter change was a bit under $400. But it's a great value when you consider they only need to be changed every 10 years! Randy also answered all my questions including signs for when it's time for maintenance. He also gave me a verbal quote for how much it would be to install an under the sink RO system. Super helpful people all around! Since the resin filter doesn't require much maintenance I won't be seeing them often but still highly recommend! Payment for services is by personal check or you can call the office to use a credit card. For the on-site assessment cash was also accepted. read more

Randy and Blue Fountain Water continue to give the best customer service possible; I have to write an update because it's hard to find such service these days, and this company deserves excellent props and the highest recommendation. Even though they are not longer selling Kinetico systems, they continued to help us when our Kinetico system ran into an issue. When I called a different Kinetico dealer, they were not nearly as helpful. So I decided to call Blue Fountain and Randy was happy to help; the issue was promptly fixed. 5 stars from my experience from the time of purchase, and now, 5 more stars for their terrific customer support with their products over the years; they truly are a 10-star company. read more

Great shop. We called them to reinstall our water filtration system after a remodeling project. They were prompt and on time. Clearly they have the best qualifications based on years of experience. We ended up going with a new, relocated system (from outdoors to inside under the sink) for a very fair price. It was installed quickly on the first visit and is serving us perfectly. To our surprise, we inherited a water softening system we knew nothing about. After some Googling, we came up on Blue Fountain Water. On my first call to them, Randy took the time to explain the system and how to maintain it. Unfortunately, we also learned that the previous owners had left it behind, owing a hefty amount still. Randy felt for us and actually drove all the way to our house to show us the paperwork and inspect the system as he wanted to make sure we felt we were being treated fairly. After going through everything, he sold it to us outright for a very fair price. He also took the time again to make sure we knew everything we needed to know to get the most longevity out of it and how his company will help us if anything goes wrong. Even my oh-so-skeptical husband who was ready to send it all back was sold. Randy turned what could have been a terrible situation for us into a pleasant experience. This is a great family run business! The owner, Randy Orella, is a standup guy and very knowledgeable when it comes to determining your water needs based on your home and area's water quality! I first bought a Kinetico non-electric water softener system from Blue Fountain in 2000. After 16 years, I have had no problems with it. It has worked reliably and has proven to be extremely low maintenance. I also bought a reverse osmosis system originally along with my water softener. That unit was an entry level one, so after 16 years, it was time for it to be retired, so I decided to upgrade to a higher efficiency RO system. I timed the purchase and install so that when I had word done on my garage flooring, Dave Orella, Randy's son, was able to come out and remove the old RO system and move my water softener to make way for the flooring work. Dave came in on his day off to do this for me, which I really appreciated. At the time of the install, Dave was able to salvage and reuse a holding tank from my old RO system and install it along with the new system. This helped to expand my filtered water storage capacity. In addition, he was able to tie in the filtered water to my refrigerator's ice/water line. The new RO system has enough water pressure to supply the filtered water faucet at my kitchen sink, as well as provide pressure to the fridge's water and ice line. When Dave was installing a supply to the fridge, he found a leak behind the fridge that I had no idea even existed. He took time to tighten off the leaky valve even though it was not related to his install. Dave also did some troubleshooting for the hookup to my existing hot water dispenser to make sure there were no leaks or crimped hoses. Dave and his father, Randy, have been great to work with throughout this process! If you have an old RO system that needs replacement, I would highly recommend that you seek them out. Also, if you're looking for a low maintenance water softener system, I'm also a big believer in Blue Fountain's Kinetico systems. Although Davis's water quality will be improving soon because of the surface water project, it will not eliminate the need for a water softener. The use of water softeners can introduce a lot of sodium into the wastewater system if not properly maintained. However, if you buy a high efficiency Kintetico system from Blue Fountain, they are happy to come out and fine tune your system so that it uses the minimal amount of salt needed for your home's unique water hardness level. read more

If we could give Blue Fountain Water a thousand star rating we would!!! I sent out our information to Blue Fountain with just a gut feeling and I am ECSTATIC with what my gut knew! We have been making improvements on our home for the last six months and we have dealt with contractors who did less then adequate from the sales to the installation. We are leary of being let down one more time, Randy reconfirmed our hope in humanity and in the business world as well. Randy is true business owner in every aspect, he really made sure that our needs were met and then some! Dave was the installer, he reminds me of my husband! Outstanding service - This is really as good as it gets! Google lead me to this company. Filled out a simple form and soon received an email from Lori (who btw is super helpful). Very soon I was scheduled to meet with the owner Randy Orella. My meeting with Randy was highly informative. He spent over an hour explaining the process, went over the components of the system and answer all the questions I had for him. I was concerned about nutrients being ripped out of the water, water being over-treated, maintenance required, and so on. He patiently went over each point and made sure I was comfortable before committing to do business with his company. One point that really stood out what - Randy does not push products, nor does he oversell ! It was amazing to see a business owner tell me that I did not need a more expensive option that his company sells. Who does that in this day ?! He handles business the way a friend would guide you. I cant say enough about how amazing Randy is. The installation itself was done by Wes Bohn who also happens to be their service point of contact. He did a thorough job, made sure everything was working and in place before he left. The whole process was very straight forward. I was charged exactly what I agreed upon. No surprises in the end. I have both a water softener and a reverse osmosis in my home. I like both. Blue Fountain has done my filter changes and maintenance over the years to my satisfaction. It should be noted that a permit from the City of Davis is required for installing both. It is best to get these permits in advance rather than later, as the payment of the permit can double. read more

We purchased a high end Kinetico Water System from Randy Orella in November of 2015 and it was not installed correctly by a sub-contractor. It took until several months ago for the botched installation to cause enough problems for me to be concerned but by that time Randy was no longer a Kinetico dealer so I contacted AAA. Since they were not the ones who did the install they would charge several hundred dollars to correct it which was reasonable. They suggested I contact Blue Fountain and even though it had been almost 3 years Randy immediately said they would correct the installation for free. Three years and no longer a Kinetico dealer but he was willing to support his customer. You can't find that level of support just anywhere so I would recommend Randy to anyone in the market for whatever he sells. read more

Blue Fountain sells Kinetico water conditioners/softeners. Kinetico doesn't use electricity but inertia to move the filtering system. Blue Fountain installed ours nearly a decade ago. I have had other water softening systems at other homes but this one has performed light years better. And, Blue Fountain has delivered quality servicing at reasonable pricing. read more

I am extremely disappointed with this company's expertise. Our property has a well and the water has many issues. After much research Blue Fountain recommended a whole house RO system and initially they were very knowledgable and I decided to use their help based on positive Internet reviews. However during installation there were some issues such as incorrect pump and throughout this year the equipment has suffered leaks to completely breaking down. One issue was the fault of my electrician who didn't understand installation and hey everyone was trying to figure how to work the system. Blue Fountain has been helpful trying to fix everything; however once the untreated well water was switched on to the house and we were told the equipment was fixed. We have small children and giving them nitrates, arsenic, lead, and oh so many other things is not really healthy. So there I was cooking, drinking and feeding it to everyone. Luckily I noticed it after a few weeks and how long it could have been like that is very disturbing. Now At this point I emailed Kinetico (brand of equipment) and requested another company to check over and service my equipment. They contacted me back via email and said I am stuck with Blue Fountain or my 20 year warranty isn't effective. Now I think Blue Fountain sells good equipment and I think for small systems they are probably capable; however for larger systems they need more training. It's now been a year since my equipment was installed and I need to have it serviced. I contacted Blue Fountain again and I was told that servicing the equipment was too complicated and that I would have to buy new (very expensive) parts for my equipment for them to service it.... I contacted Kinetico again to see what they would recommend and they said that the equipment is serviceable and they would call me with a solution that I'm still waiting on. Writing a negative review is not fun but I would not want anyone else to go thru this. If I could do this all again I would think twice about using these companies for anything complex. read more

I would highly recommend this company to anyone for their water needs. We had hard water and high nitrates. They came and installed a water softner and reverse osmosis system. My water tastes better than bottled water and has no more nitrates. My hair and skin are so soft know. The customer service is amazing I cant say enough about them. Nicest epople ever read more
