Everyone apart of the staff is really sweet and kind. Cakes are super moist and flavorful, serving slices are a bit smaller now than when they first opened however, quality is still there. Strawberry Cake is my absolute favorite, they use strawberries in theirs filling and it's a complete game changer. Cake bar is my go to when I have a craving that I can't put on the back burner any longer. Sometimes you just want one single piece of cake. Not two, not three, not an entire cake, but just one single slice. They have an amazing array of cakes that they sell by the slice or you can buy the entire cake. They are packaged in very sturdy plastic wear, and then tamper sealed -just saw the Uber driver doesn't get tempted and wanna taste. Their cakes are moist and fresh and the slices are perfectly dense but moist and have a nice texture to them. It's like you know you're eating a really good piece of cake not something full of air that's commercially prepared. They have delivery through Uber and through DoorDash and it is pretty quick too. I understand their location is great and I have to go there in person, but for now when I get overcome with a desire for one single piece of cake this is the way to go so you may say, will you Marie why can't you make a cake cut it up into servings and put it in the freezer well, it's not the same as having a fresh piece of cake and then you have all that other cake in the freezer as temptation this limited dramatically when you're paying for a slice of cake and delivery, you're really gonna limit what you're getting and this is a great way to stay on track. You have a little suite every now and then and then you get back on track, but this helps you not veer off too badly. I never feel guilty after having a slice of cake from these folks because I know it is high-quality and I totally saved and enjoyed every bite. You have to try it. read more

Completely unimpressed and disappointed. My partner ordered a cake last week for my birthday for pickup on Tuesday June 16th and what we received seemed like a week-old cake, not one made to order. Dry sponge with no real discernible flavor other than "sweet". The same can be said for their "buttercream" icing. As someone who makes their own buttercream on occasion, I can say for sure their's is not genuine made-from-scratch-buttercream. If anything it has the same taste and texture of cheap grocery store sheet cake which is really unacceptable given their price point. This was my first time visiting Cake Bar, I believe this is their new location as they have moved out from theirTrinity Groves one. The display case was full of tempting options, making it tough to decide, but I ended up with the Wedding Cake slice and the Neapolitan Cake slice. The Wedding Cake was light, moist, and classic, while the Neapolitan gave a fun mix of flavors in every bite. The line moved quick as it looks like a lot of patrons are just picking up some after lunch slice. My husband and I have been going to Cake Bar for years anytime we have a sweet tooth and have always been met with great service except for this past Saturday. Upon entering, one of the girls on one of the registers greeted us and gave us a beautiful smile even though she was attending another customer. The young lady at the other register had just finished ringing someone up so we stepped up, she was completely cold, no greening, no smile, nothing. So I say hello and of course my husband allows me to order first so I order my slice and even though she saw us walking together and saw us walk up to the register together, she just immediately rings up my slice and gives me my total. I then turned towards my husband to gesture that he's also ordering something and he just said "we're all so going to get an additional slice" and places his order, she hands us our bag and then she's just staring at us like we we're crazy and didn't give us the total for both of our cake slices so my husband just taps his card to pay and then we leave. The cake was delicious as always, I got a slice of carrot cake which was moist and filled with walnuts, he got the slice of chocolate which was decadent and delicious and I have not had an item yet that I haven't been satisfied with but Saturdays service was really lackluster and we were both very disappointed with the experience. read more

The cream cheese frosting tasted very artificial and it was evident later (I'm lactose intolerant). Natural ingredients don't affect me like that. I threw away half the cake. Went in for the first time on Saturday. Customers service was amazing, taking time to explain all the flavors and that everything is made in house. We tried the key lime slice and cheesecake slice which were very delicious. The chocolate cake pop fell short for my ten year old, who said it was just too creamy and over chocolate-y (but that's subjective it sounds like heaven to me). My husband said his slice of lemon cake wasn't as full of lemon flavor as he'd like. I tried it and it didn't taste like lemon to me, it was light and not too sweet so definitely a plus, but the flavor wasn't there. As a whole we'd definitely go back and try more flavors. read more

Which is a bummer because with all the restaurants surrounding the area, if someone wanted to stop by for dessert you have.no choice but to take it to go. So we ended up going back to the fire pits in the Art Park to enjoy it because it was a cold night, so sitting right outside wasn't an option. That said while we were sitting there enjoying our two slices of cake, a group came over with different slices and we started chatting about the cakes, and one of the girls let me try her strawberry cake and now that one!! That was what I should've gone with. It was delicious, and flavorful and had real strawberries in the middle as well. One of my coworkers also swears by the German chocolate cake. The hummingbird cake is also one that they're known for, even though it seemingly has a lot of flavors going on, apparently they pair well together from what I've heard. Got twice slices, one for my friend who loves anything chocolate. The slices are pre-sliced and lined up behind counter. You can also order different size whole cakes and they will box it up for you. Both the chocolate and old fashioned cake had a nice chocolate flavor without being too rich. They also offer pound cakes by the slice, cookies and drinks in the cooler. I came about an hour after they opened and there was already a line to the door. Thankfully the line moves fairly quick and you have a nice view of the cakes while you wait. While picking up my pre-order I snagged a couple of cake balls and let me say, if this entire review was based on a cake ball... 10/10. Some of the best cake balls I have ever had. Now for the cake. When I picked it up off the counter I knew we weren't going to be hungry, this girl was heavy. I added the happy birthday (name) for $4 and the white flowers for $10. I think that makes my preorder grand total around $60. Not outlandish, it more than fed everyone in the office. Here's the problem, the cake was... not that good. I had the cake balls the night before so I was really looking forward to this cake. The icing was thick (think fudge), the layers were thin & kind of dry. Just unimpressed for the price. So, for my birthday I decided to indulge in various cakes from the Cake Bar. I purchased the following flavors: Red Velvet: it was decent- the cream cheese frosting was great. The texture was moist , but I felt like there was something missing to make it the perfect red velvet. Key Lime- I didn't like it at all!!! There was a weird aftertaste that was off putting, I didn't go past the first bite. Piña colada : this was probably my favorite of all the flavors. The cake was airy, yet crumbly. It had just the right amount of sweetness and pineapple. It a must try!!! The wedding cake: it gave it gave Mexican cake vibes , I expected an almond undertone but didn't quite get that. The cake it self was well made and would have probably be a show stopper if paired with fruit glaze. Peanut butter and Jelly - felt like I was eating a PB&J sandwich, you have to be a peanut butter fan to truly enjoy this cake. It's rich, slightly dense but good.
