Unfortunately i haven't tried this place myself, yet. I came here to grab some cakes for a buddy bday and they were quick and efficient and gave great recommendation because my buddy killed both cakes. I'll definitely be coming here to try myself very soon.
I had not been to the Cake Bar since it was in Trinity Grooves. Let me just say I was missing out. I know I am one of those people who prefers banana pudding without the bananas. Well they didn't disappoint my feet did the happy dance. We went on a cake buying tour and we weren't disappointed. Great Service and friendly. Let me do better by making sure I frequent this place more.
Cake bar is my go to when I have a craving that I can't put on the back burner any longer. Sometimes you just want one single piece of cake. Not two, not three, not an entire cake, but just one single slice. They have an amazing array of cakes that they sell by the slice or you can buy the entire cake. They are packaged in very sturdy plastic wear, and then tamper sealed -just saw the Uber driver doesn't get tempted and wanna taste. Their cakes are moist and fresh and the slices are perfectly dense but moist and have a nice texture to them. It's like you know you're eating a really good piece of cake not something full of air that's commercially prepared. They have delivery through Uber and through DoorDash and it is pretty quick too. I understand their location is great and I have to go there in person, but for now when I get overcome with a desire for one single piece of cake this is the way to go so you may say, will you Marie why can't you make a cake cut it up into servings and put it in the freezer well, it's not the same as having a fresh piece of cake and then you have all that other cake in the freezer as temptation this limited dramatically when you're paying for a slice of cake and delivery, you're really gonna limit what you're getting and this is a great way to stay on track. You have a little suite every now and then and then you get back on track, but this helps you not veer off too badly. I never feel guilty after having a slice of cake from these folks because I know it is high-quality and I totally saved and enjoyed every bite. You have to try it.
I first noticed this establishment on TikTok. I love cake as well as pies, but don't get it twisted this place will have you in a daze. What do I want?? So on my first trip there I bought two slices of cake just to try them out since it was my first time and also not go into a diabetic coma as well. Both slices were absolutely wonderful. I bought the Pina Colada and the Hummingbird cakes. I will give them both a 10/10. I was expecting the price to be a little more per slice which I was ready to pay for it, at $7.25 each that was a deal for me. So my birthday was coming up in a couple of weeks and since I was in the area I went back and bought 2 of the 5" cakes one German chocolate and a wedding cake. Ok I am going to say you're going to hurt yourself on the German Chocolate. It was moist, coconut frosting on point. I'll give that a 10/10. Now on to the wedding Cake, I want a divorce. I have to give it a 3/10. It was denser and I was missing the hint of almond in the cake. I really was looking for that traditional wedding cake taste. Light fluffy cake with the hint of almond coming through with the butter cream frosting. You can find a cake for everyone, every tastebud. This really is a hidden gym off of Stemmons freeway. You have to go by and try them out and let me know your thoughts. I actually met the young man I saw on TikTok. He was so personable and a pleasure to meet. When he says slices you better go because they will sell out of your favorite cake. Very nice bakery not over decorated but just to tell who they are and that works for me! Give them a try.
Cake Bar at 2629 N Stemmons Fwy Suite101, Dallas, TX 75207 They were at a pop up location in Denton,Texas during Halloween . I got a chance once again to try so many different treats. We could do this once a year during Halloween I know. These cakes are so moist and delicious that I put each one in the refrigerator and I promise you I only ate one a day lol definitely. Now for the holidays coming up for Thanksgiving and Christmas, I want to get the eight inch version of these cakes for the family. I'm definite looking forward to getting back to the location in Dallas to pick up those cakes Highly recommend this place and also the owner and the family are very excellent people.
We came here when it was at Trinity Groves. There was hardly any space to walk at that location, there was no seating there. This is a lot better than that location. Spacious and with plenty of seating. The cake is amazing! I wanted to get a slice of each! They should have a sampler option. I got the strawberry and my boyfriend got pineapple upside down. His cake was so much better than mine. But both were great! I'm still craving cake right now! I will be back for sure!
Picked up my favorite cake for my birthday!! Every time we're in the area, I always try and stop at Cake Bar to grab a sweet treat. Their cake is so good! I've tried the wedding cake, red velvet, German chocolate, and carrot cake. The carrot cake is my favorite. I also love the oatmeal raisin cookie and lemon pound cake. They're in a new location with ample parking. The bakery is spacious and clean. The service is always welcoming and friendly whenever we go. Wishing and waiting for them to open a location in Fort Worth!

We started visiting them at their original Dallas location, and now we happily support them at their current spot. Honestly, we'll go wherever Cake Bar is located. It's perfectly sized with a thoughtfully curated selection, so you're excited by the choices without feeling overloaded. And let's talk about the desserts... every cake has its own distinct, unforgettable flavor--nothing tastes the same, and everything tastes intentional. This was my first time visiting Cake Bar, I believe this is their new location as they have moved out from theirTrinity Groves one. The display case was full of tempting options, making it tough to decide, but I ended up with the Wedding Cake slice and the Neapolitan Cake slice. The Wedding Cake was light, moist, and classic, while the Neapolitan gave a fun mix of flavors in every bite. The line moved quick as it looks like a lot of patrons are just picking up some after lunch slice. With so many cakes to choose from, I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more.
My husband and I have been going to Cake Bar for years anytime we have a sweet tooth and have always been met with great service except for this past Saturday. Upon entering, one of the girls on one of the registers greeted us and gave us a beautiful smile even though she was attending another customer. The young lady at the other register had just finished ringing someone up so we stepped up, she was completely cold, no greening, no smile, nothing. So I say hello and of course my husband allows me to order first so I order my slice and even though she saw us walking together and saw us walk up to the register together, she just immediately rings up my slice and gives me my total. I then turned towards my husband to gesture that he's also ordering something and he just said "we're all so going to get an additional slice" and places his order, she hands us our bag and then she's just staring at us like we we're crazy and didn't give us the total for both of our cake slices so my husband just taps his card to pay and then we leave. The cake was delicious as always, I got a slice of carrot cake which was moist and filled with walnuts, he got the slice of chocolate which was decadent and delicious and I have not had an item yet that I haven't been satisfied with but Saturdays service was really lackluster and we were both very disappointed with the experience.
new spacious location off I 35 near the Medical District. I found the flavor not as full and decadent as I remember before at the old location. Italian Cream Cake (my fav) was very dry flavorless. The cream cheese frosting tasted very artificial and it was evident later (I'm lactose intolerant). Natural ingredients don't affect me like that. I threw away half the cake. It was pretty tho, but I paid $22 for flavor not looks.
Ok the cakes are good, not a fan of the pound cake. This time I tried the banana pudding, very good but more cookies for me, it's pricey but worked well with watching football!!!

Everyone apart of the staff is really sweet and kind. Cakes are super moist and flavorful, serving slices are a bit smaller now than when they first opened however, quality is still there. Strawberry Cake is my absolute favorite, they use strawberries in theirs filling and it's a complete game changer. Their new location does have more sitting space compared to the Trinity Groves location. read more
Updating my review now that I've come back to Cake Bar several times! The cakes are always consistent in quality -- so delicious, moist, and perfectly sweet. My favorite is the Hummingbird, but the Red Velvet is also delicious! Can't wait to try more flavors! read more

Carrot cake is usually always on point! Most days there's a line but it moves super quickly. S/o to their staff for being quick and efficient . I've had good carrot cakes before and I must say cake bar is on that level of top tier. Moist, rich, and the cream cheese icing is the most essential piece of the puzzle. Raisins were a nice touch too . Not too many places doing a carrot cake justice like cake bar. A must try if you're visiting or just appreciate a nice quality dessert. read more

Alright so don't hate me for saying this, but I'd been hearing so much about this place that maybe I hyped it up in my head, and was let down as a result. But that said.....I thought the cake was good, but nothing over the top. In my opinion it actually lacked the sweetness and flavor I prefer if I'm going to indulge. Me and my friend decided to stop by on a random weeknight, I got the red velvet and he got the wedding cake. The red velvet had nuts in it, which was a first for me. It was moist and tasted good, but I just expected a little more flavor and sweetness from it. His wedding cake he seemed to like but I thought it was basically just a vanilla cake. The service was mediocre, the girl at the counter seemed to have no interest in trying to help us, despite us saying it was our first time visiting. She came off very rude and had no personality at all. Also the shop itself is very small and has nowhere to sit to enjoy your cake. Which is a bummer because with all the restaurants surrounding the area, if someone wanted to stop by for dessert you have.no choice but to take it to go. So we ended up going back to the fire pits in the Art Park to enjoy it because it was a cold night, so sitting right outside wasn't an option. That said while we were sitting there enjoying our two slices of cake, a group came over with different slices and we started chatting about the cakes, and one of the girls let me try her strawberry cake and now that one!! That was what I should've gone with. It was delicious, and flavorful and had real strawberries in the middle as well. One of my coworkers also swears by the German chocolate cake. The hummingbird cake is also one that they're known for, even though it seemingly has a lot of flavors going on, apparently they pair well together from what I've heard. So who knows, maybe I just chose the wrong cakes for my first experience, it was definitely good cake, just not up with the hype I keep hearing about. read more
Got twice slices, one for my friend who loves anything chocolate. The slices are pre-sliced and lined up behind counter. You can also order different size whole cakes and they will box it up for you. Both the chocolate and old fashioned cake had a nice chocolate flavor without being too rich. They also offer pound cakes by the slice, cookies and drinks in the cooler. I came about an hour after they opened and there was already a line to the door. Thankfully the line moves fairly quick and you have a nice view of the cakes while you wait. If I am in the area again I would stop in for a slice (or two lol) read more

To satisfy my sweet tooth, I went to the Cake Bar. There were quite a few options. I asked what was most popular and was told the strawberry cake. Who doesn't like strawberry cake? It was delicious. I got the German chocolate cake, as well. Also, good. I will be back to try some of the others flavors. read more
I recently ordered a cake for a friend's birthday from cake bar, (classic chocolate for 8-12). The bakery itself is cute, and the service was good! No complaints there! While picking up my pre-order I snagged a couple of cake balls and let me say, if this entire review was based on a cake ball... 10/10. Some of the best cake balls I have ever had. Now for the cake. When I picked it up off the counter I knew we weren't going to be hungry, this girl was heavy. I added the happy birthday (name) for $4 and the white flowers for $10. I think that makes my preorder grand total around $60. Not outlandish, it more than fed everyone in the office. Here's the problem, the cake was... not that good. I had the cake balls the night before so I was really looking forward to this cake. The icing was thick (think fudge), the layers were thin & kind of dry. Just unimpressed for the price. This could have been a bad batch, so to speak, I don't know. Will I try it again? Yes. Would I order it specifically? No. Should you try it? Maybe? 100% try the cake balls read more
So, for my birthday I decided to indulge in various cakes from the Cake Bar. I purchased the following flavors: Red Velvet: it was decent- the cream cheese frosting was great. The texture was moist , but I felt like there was something missing to make it the perfect red velvet. Key Lime- I didn't like it at all!!! There was a weird aftertaste that was off putting, I didn't go past the first bite. Piña colada : this was probably my favorite of all the flavors. The cake was airy, yet crumbly. It had just the right amount of sweetness and pineapple. It a must try!!! The wedding cake: it gave it gave Mexican cake vibes , I expected an almond undertone but didn't quite get that. The cake it self was well made and would have probably be a show stopper if paired with fruit glaze. Peanut butter and Jelly - felt like I was eating a PB&J sandwich, you have to be a peanut butter fan to truly enjoy this cake. It's rich, slightly dense but good. I feel like my expectations were too high for this place due to the social media hype. The staff said hello and took my order, nothing good or bad to say on that. It's a cute little cake spot with some nice decor to snap pictures but the cake was just subpar. I got a slice of the old fashioned and the piña colada. I was not a fan of either and I am a really big sweets person so that's saying a lot. The pineapple filling in the piña colada had an odd texture and the frosting on the old fashioned was very bitter. It's not somewhere I would go back to. read more
So, I didn't know that they had changed locations 2 days ago. So that kinda threw me off. It's a cute little shop with a grass wall to take pictures under a neon sign that says "cake bar Dallas." I love to support black owned, but I think I was overhyped about it from social media because it wasn't as spectacular as I imagined it would be. I got the old fashion.... I liked the cake! The cake was moist with good flavor, but I wasn't really feeling the dark chocolate icing. I felt the icing took away from the cakes flavor. The service was regular... I have no complaints about it. You just walk up to the counter, give your order, pay, then go about your way. Do I suggest others try it.. yeah, why not. Will I be back... probably not. read more
