    Birthday cake
    Julie P.

The order for my sister's birthday cake went smoothly. The cake was delicious. The ambiance is a small Mexican bakery, when you walk in you smell the fresh pan dulce .

Wasn't impressed with the pan dulce there wasn't much variety and it's just wants good but also wasn't bad. The empanadas were thin

Was in need of a cake last minute and Vera's bakery came to the rescue! They had a variety of beautiful cakes available for grab and go. The cake itself was absolutely delicious. Their custom orders that were on display looked very well made- will come back indefinitely!

Vera's catered the desserts for our wedding. The owner, Alfonso and his daughter Naomi were super helpful and personally took care of the order. Their pan dulce is incredible! We had conchas, churros, and empanadas that were delicious and an absolute hit with our guests.

I ordered a cake for my son's first fiesta. The design was spot on with what I asked. It was absolutely perfect. I ordered the top tier chocolate and strawberry which was okay but the bottom tier was vanilla with pineapple filling which was everyone's favorite. Would recommend and would def order from here again.

Vera's will now be my go to cake shop! Not only are their cakes delicious but very inexpensive. Everyone at the party was raving about how moist and pretty the cake was. The lady who took the order was nice and listened to my ideas and gave input that was truly helpful. My cake was PERFECT!! I will say one thing, I was a little nervous about ordering a cake from here because I tried their pastries and wasn't really impressed.. to me they weren't sweet or fresh enough. But maybe I just picked the wrong ones? I'll definitely be back next time I need a specialty cake!!

Cupcakes were NOT good at all! And when I went to pick up the order the lady dropped all the cupcakes. I had to wait 30 min just so I can get another order. Will NOT be going there again.

I was recommended by a friend and it was AMAZING! It was the star of my party. The cake was absolutely beautiful and it was perfect. I can't say enough good things about the cake.

This place is out in Oak cliff by Norma's cafe. Parking is really tight and there's hardly any, maybe 5 spots. Inside there is lots of Mexican breads around, drink options plus lots of cake options. They have a huge kitchen in the back and they make everything fresh everyday. All the breads we choose were fresh and tasted amazing!! My favorite was the pumpkin bread with a whipped pumpkin cream YUM !!! If you can do the drive and the parking it is well worth it!!!

I was recommended by a family member, and I need a cake for my baby shower I've never had a cake like this or expected anything like this but it turned out more beautiful than I thought ! Worth the price It looks a little melted cus it was hot outside so that' was on us :)

Ordered a cake for my daughter's half birthday from here. It was very last minute but they did an amazing job. Cake was moist and the decor was nice. I don't know if they do fondant flowers but the flowers on this cake were whipped cream so they did start to melt after a while. Just a little tip if you do want flowers don't get whipped cream ones.

    Love their pan dulce.

I started with the croque monsieur, and it was exactly what I was craving. The cheese was perfectly melted and bubbly, and that hint of dill on top really pulled it all together. I also grabbed a slice of the lorraine quiche, which was incredibly savory with a crust that was so buttery and flaky it practically melted in my mouth. For dessert, the chocolate kouign-amann was a total standout, super crispy on the outside with those rich, sweet layers inside. I paired it with an iced chai latte, which was perfectly spiced and not overly sweet. They have a small outdoor seating section that is perfect for catching some fresh air while you eat. The whole experience felt so authentic and high-quality. I am already looking forward to my next visit!

Staying open late worked in my favor as I got through DJing a show. The establishment is modeled like it's someone's house who just wanted to turn it into a food spot. Very welcoming, the lady at the register who took my order was nice. While every selection made it hard for me to choose from, I ended up going with the Cloud 9 - butterscotch, caramel, brown sugar meringue. I took the slice to go as I was heading back to Tulsa. It was so good. Every bite. I couldn't get enough. The combination of those 3 components went well together. As I was looking up the menu on their website, I noticed that none of the selections were the same from when I had my slice. That indicated to me that they have a rotating menu. That's going to make me a returning customer because I can have something new to look forward to.

The blueberry scone was fresh and although I only pinched a small bite from it, I could tell it was moister and more flavorful than most, well done! I wanted to try the Chocolate Kouign Amann, since I had no idea what it was, lol. It was packed with chocolate, but it wasn't fresh, the wonderful flaky pastry was rock hard. And now the quiche - I wanted SO much to love it - it was bursting with ham and the pastry looked lovely. But the pastry was SO hard that I couldn't even cut into it! I wanted to eat it with a fork but had to pick it up to bite the top part, since it was like wood. And the entire bottom of the quiche was drenched - when I bit into a bite from the lower part, all this water came squirting out - every bite that touched the bottom part of it was squirting water! I was so grossed out, why was this happening? Unlike my fave place La Madeleine, they only send you a slice, so sadly that was my one and only experience with Village Bakery quiche. Really wish it would have been better, the other reviews showed promise.

The shop had a comfy feel with cute tables and posters on the wall. We would definitely go back for more baked goods.Yum!
