Seafood boil was amazing! I will continue to go here! The seasoning is great, the fries are great. The service is super quick!

Great food but unfortunately they're stingy with the sauce and that's the best part of the Boil!!

Up until New Year's Eve I've had amazing experiences with CajunKitchen but this last visit was thee worst!! First I had to go in and place our order because their phone was off the hook (first red flag). When I placed the order they said it would be 30 minutes. I went and did my Target pick up and got some gas. Came back to pick up my food and the guy said another 15 mins, I asked him to just call me when it's done and gave the man my phone number. (Mind you there's at least 30 people including children just waiting in the lobby as if COVID was on PTO) I sat in my truck waiting for 30 more mins. Finally went in and was told 15 more mins. All together I waited a total of 1 hour and 33 mins. First off, you don't do that to clients. Don't take my money then tell me 30 mins when the wait is actually 3X that. Tell me the truth from the beginning and allow me to make the choice if I want to sit around and wait that long. When I finally got home my wife and I discovered the crab legs were overcooked, I called the following day to let them know about my experience (much longer wait time than told initially, and quality of food) and to request a refund. Employee named Ghon told me the manager will call me on Saturday no one called on Saturday I called on Sunday and was told managers don't work on Sunday and to call back Monday (today). I just got off the phone with them and they wanted to offer me $20 of free crab on my next visit. I asked how is $20 of free crab fair when I spent over $120 with you? He wanted to argue the point and say I should have brought the food back (after I already been waiting for almost 2 hours) so I told him to keep the money and he can wipe his ass with it but that's the last bit of money that he'll be getting from my household. Cajunkitchen we deserve better! But like I said, you bought and paid for, for the low cost of $120. Best of luck! First of all, they transformed a former Wendy's into a cute place! They have a hand washing station in the dining area...this is so smart! The boil has many options to configure a great meal. I had the crab and shrimp (heads off) with the garlic butter sauce. There was so much garlic and I loved every bite! The service was attentive but not annoying. The place is very clean and they provide enough napkins and supplies to eat the boil without getting food all over yourself. I did leave with garlic butter all over my glasses...but that was totally my fault. I will be back for sure! It was also really fun to other people enjoying a great meal. We visited this local restaurant last Friday during Crystal Frolics. This is one of our favorite local restaurants. My wife and I split the combo special. Our friends shared a catfish dinner and the regular menu combo which includes lobster. As always the food was beautifully prepared and seasoned to order. If you like spicy be careful because medium spice level is very hot by my standards and I like heat. Nice wide open space and great service make this a good place to visit regularly. This is my go to place for seafood boils, but the customer service is very demanding. I believe, poor customer service little to no tip and the servers would get an attitude and try to rush us out if we don't leave a tip. Also, sometimes the food here is not cleaned out well. First off some of the best food I have ever had!! The fried calamari was delicious and be sure to do the "get your hands dirty" it's a lot of food and definitely some of their best stuff. The restaurant is in a old Wendy's building so I was not sure how the dining area was going to look like. Once we entered it was a lot better looking than I thought it would be and I did like the wood cabin feel to it. We came in with a party of 5 and were greeted by 4-5 woman servers. The restaurant was very slow for a Sunday but is understandable based on hearing about this place the same day so it led me to assume they could have done a better marketing plan because they are in a busy area of crystal MN. We were sat very quickly by a enthusiastic Asian woman with a very thick accent and I had a hard time understanding her as she sat us which I didn't really mind at first. After seating she began to take our drink order with out announcing it so it was a very awkward and confusing discussion and with the thick accent it made it even more difficult for us to make the order and her to take it. I am Mexican and understand the language challenge people have coming to this county which is very understandable and I didn't have any hard feelings against here for it but more for the restaurant management or owners for possibly either not training the employee correctly or assuming the language barrier would not cause an issue down the road. Once we received our drinks we attempted to put an appetizer order in for the table an order of 12 wings which we attempted to get 2 flavors and after a lengthy back and forth due to the language barrier with the server we were told that it could not be done which we understood and ordered one flavor with additional sauces on the side but again due to the language barrier we received 12 sauceless breaded wings with 3 small ramekins of sauces. We were disappointed but took the loss and continued to the main course and the reason we came in, the shrimp and crawfish boil. So we ended up making two orders and due to the payment needing to be split between me and my brother. We again attempted to make a customized order from the menu which confused the server and we had a very hard time making this part of the order it took so long and the server left the table and came back to re confirm with us her understanding of the order we were making multiple times. She kept referring to menu items in a very confusing way which we finally gave up and just said please just go ahead and put in the orders the same and we also ordered a side or white rice. Shortly after she stoped coming back and forth to our table to say a couple confusing words she came back with the food!!! I will give them that the food was very quick which is very common with seafood boils who don't cook the food to order but keep warm holding and serve from there per order. Unfortunately that seemed to be the case once we received our food. The dishes came in the plastic bags which is very traditional and had some of the broth in the bag as well. I had the crawfish and sausage with shrimp corn and potatoes. The food was cooked well but was missing sauce to be mixed in the bag before serving I felt but I didn't mind mixing it up myself and the white rice never came. Overall the food was good definitely not authentically made but kinda close and I would probably return but just ask for a different server possibly to avoid the frustrations which was not a big deal but just a little awkward and frustrating especially on your first visit. read more

Another Chinese Cajun restaurant, tastes like Chinese spicy food. Not authentic at all. Not worth to drive long way.

My husband and I saw that this establishment barely opened so we decided to test it out with our kids. The decor is amazing, they did a great job on setting a fun and inviting atmosphere. As for food we ordered the chicken tenders and fries for the kids, the portion size was worth the cost. We also ordered friend calamari, and a few pounds of varied seafood from the Get Your Hands Dirty section, we chose the special sauce with medium spice. The presentation was beautiful, what I saw different from other places was that Cajun Kitchen added streamed broccoli to the boil. I love vegetables, but I felt that the broccoli took away the true flavor of the sauce. Service was mediocre. After we had gotten most of our order on the table, we had to ask twice for a missing order. And to top it off, our waitress walked past us 3 times and didn't think to check in with drink refills. I personally like cajun deli food better the food is flavoured better. I didn't like the snow crabs but shrimp was good and corn, potatoes and broccoli. Good customer service and clean restuarant. This used to be the old Wendy's in Crystal. read more

Service was average. Not bad. Just good enough. The food was not so great on the other hand. I ordered the calamari and the flavor or seasoning or whatever they used is not that great. I did not like it at all. It tasted weird and gross in my opinion. Will never order it again for sure and I love calamari. Also their dipping sauce for it is disappointing. I think it's just sweet and sour sauce. I wanted the sauce that was white (I don't know what it's called) that's more commonly and popular to serve as a dipping sauce. But what made me really irked was how I found out at least 3 of our mussels I ordered for my cajun was missing and only the shell was left. Like what!!! I have never had this happened to me in other Cajun restaurants. This annoyed me because eating cajun/seafood is never cheap. The sauce we got was house mix I think and it was watered down. The taste was not all there... I could barely taste anything. But it's better than Captain crab's (Brooklyn Center) house mix but not even close to being as good as Cajun Deli's (Brooklyn Park) house mix. I highly recommend Cajun Deli. They also put broccoli in there (I preferred if it wasn't part of the food tbh) and the only thing I liked was the sausage. The seafood is good but just not the sauce and seasoning. I had the catfish, okra, and the soft shell crab. If you like heavily breaded food then this is for you. My first thought of the food was it smells good and once I saw the food I saw so much fried batter on it that it turned me off right away, I took a bite and yes thick batter on the food. I would like to have a choice of asking for lightly batter food if that is at all possible and not spend a lot of time peeling that stuff off. We had the "all of above" sauce. Taste is exceptionally good. Not sure if quantity is sufficient. We ordered 1/2 pound crayfish, there were only 9 pieces. Typically crayfish are 25-30 pieces in a pound. Ours were in no way on the larger side in size. They were pretty small. read more

This place is delicious! I had the shrimp and crab leg boil with the house special seasoning, AMAZING TASTE! I was full before I finished but refused to not eat it all.
