Wow.... I have no other words to explain how delicious this place is. Best crawfish I think I have had this season and maybe ever. I got the spicy with Cajun seasoning and it was perfect. The spice was just enough to get your nose running and to me that's exactly how eating crawfish should be. The peeled so nicely and I got a lot of the claw meat out. The corn was honestly my favorite part. Some places the corn is a hit or miss but I could've easily just ordered a bag of corn LOL. Our service was quick and our server was really nice and answered any questions that we had. This is a cute little place and the walls are covered in pictures of customers which really makes it feel personal and homey in there. We were looking to get our first crawfish of the season and had it all planned to check out Pearland's newest spot. After waiting for more than an hour, they announced they were out of crawfish. We were determined to get some mud bugs and a friend suggested her favorite spot Cajun Craven. I was a little hesitant just from a quick glance on Yelp but our options were limited. We called ahead to make sure they had some crawfish available in which they said they did and there was not really a wait time to be seated. The restaurant itself looks old and outdated and can be described as a hole in the wall. Here, they just throw some plastic on the table, serve everything on disposable containers and throw everything out in one swoop. Efficient but tacky. Customer service was not that great. Everyone was nice, but service was very slow and you had to ask for things multiple times if you needed something. As soon as we arrived around 6, they said they too ran out of crawfish but was expecting a delivery in the next hour. We decided to stay and munch on things until they did arrive. At this point, we were on the verge of starvation and needed food ASAP. I wanted boiled shrimp with my crawfish originally, so I got that with corn, sausage and potatoes. I got it spicy with their signature Craven style which was Cajun, but with garlic and butter added. We also ordered some Craven wings, Cajun fries, and a order of combination fried rice for the table. All of our boiled seafood came in bags but came out very staggered. All the non boiled food also only came out after reminding that we ordered them. I like when places have buckets or bowls for shells, but here, you just pull from the bag, peel and throw your scraps on the table. I have also been spoiled with going to places where I can order headless shrimp and they even make it easily peelable. Here, I really had to put some work in for someone that does seafood boils maybe 2-3 times a year. The shrimp were a good size though and cooked just right. The sauce was pretty weak in my opinion though. It was not spicy and did not have a garlic kick that I was expecting. What made it decent was dipping it into my butter and Cajun seasoning concoction. The corn was cooked right and did soak up some seasoning. The potatoes were tiny and overcooked. The shrimp boil was a little disappointing overall. The chicken wings were really good though. They were a good size and seasoned very well. The fried rice and fries were also very good. We did end up getting a little crawfish once it arrived. They were still small in size but that's out of the restaurant's control. The overall experience was just ok here. I don't see myself coming back anytime soon. read more

The tables have plastic over them, so you just dump your food and have at it! The food comes piping hot and in bags, so you just open & pour your food and all the good juices out onto the table. The crab clusters came with very sturdy scissors, although the tougher parts such as the claws were a challenge to open for me at least. The only reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because the crawfish was so good. This place was on my list of places I've wanted to try since I love crawfish so much. So I decided to plan a birthday dinner there for one of my friends, I drove all the way out from Katy. The service is probably some of the most awful I've ever had. There were ten of us. We mostly got crawfish. We ordered drinks with it and butter. We barely get drinks halfway through the crawfish. I asked for a glass of wine, they brought me a michelob ultra. Butter wasn't brought out until we were almost done. I almost begged multiple times just for at least a glass of water. We would of stayed and had more and had drinks to celebrate my friends birthday as it was so beautiful out... but we all just got so annoyed. To top that off... he added a 15 percent gratuity to all of our checks other than two of us. We all just left really disappointed. Which sucks cuz I loved the crawfish. They took awhile to seat us, we were standing there for sometime and the employees were just passing by and never said we will be with you shortly I finally asked if we are suppose wait or seat ourselves. The young man with long hair was our waiter, he never came back to our table and asked if we needed any refills, I had to ask 2 different waiters for assistance and they said ok but it that was it. I could D see the second waiter from were I was sitting and i made eye contact with him a couple of times and im guessing thats why he finally brought the refill. When we were leaving our waiter rang us up and requested to have his tip in cash since it takes 3 weeks for him to get his tips if paid through a credit card. I understand about the tip but our waiter was not attentive. My husband tipped anyway. My husband and I both agreed that we will never step foot in this place again. My only suggestion is that for take-out, you guys should invest in better packaging for the crawfish. The customer service use to be great; unfortunately, every time they hire new servers it changes. To start...the crab toast is incredible! Honestly doesn't taste like crab if you don't like fishy flavors...melt in your mouth goodness! MUST TRY! The blackened catfish was recommended to me by the waiter to really get that unique viet-Cajun flavor versus the fried catfish. I thought it was incredible the catfish was cooked perfectly and the hot spice and slight fragrant sweetness of the charring was something out of this world! I really enjoyed the spice powdered over the fries and available in a shaker at the table, as well. The service needs a little bit of work slow and sitting as in slow to get anyone's attention to get our drink order. Other than that the food was fabulous we ordered the chicken wings, egg rolls and gumbo. For our main course we ordered catfish and crawfish poboy, grilled shrimp and grilled tilapia it was absolutely delicious. All our meals had a fabulous flavors and everything came out so freaking hot I haven't been to a restaurant in a long time that actually serves you hot food straight from the kitchen to your table. If you don't order the first time someone comes up to your table good luck, good luck getting a refill on your drink, good luck adding an item, good luck on getting anyone to come to your table without being a "bad customer".
