Although this isn't my favorite spot for seafood boil, I think their deals are great especially the oyster and lunch special. The flavors were great and the variety for the seafood boil was great. They do get really busy so depending on when you get here there will be a wait, but the staff is very friendly and nice. Me and my boyfriend went here as we hear good things about it on every social media platform. Which I got to say, they were right. We walk in and was greeted nicely by the employee and we came here on a Friday lunch so it wasn't busy. I look around and find everything was well kept and clean! I have no complaint on that. There were lots of tables available in the large seating area! It's well lit and the decor is very unique, with "graffiti" writings on the wall from customers (I think). It gives it a charming feel! I ordered 1 lb of the headless shrimp for the lunch deal. It comes with 1 full potato cut in half, 1 piece of corn, and a couple pieces of sausage. I really liked that you could pick either head off or on at no extra charge. I also got the mild-medium house sauce that had a lot of flavor. It wasn't too spicy but had a little bit of a kick. The shrimp was cooked pretty well and most pieces peeled well with the exception of a couple. We also ordered the crab cake sliders from the lunch menu that came with 2 and some fries! A new Cajun restaurant is always welcome in the Bay Area. Unfortunately it's another of those Vietnamese (probably) Cajun restaurant not an authentic one. However it's not bad. I do not recommend Cajun flavor (this is one my main complaint of those Vietnamese Cajun restaurants as they always mess up the actual Cajun flavor itself) but I can recommend the house special. It's not Cajun but it's flavorful. Be warned that it's extremely heavy with garlic so don't go on a date or have business meeting afterwards unless the other party loves your garlic breath. The shrimp (with head) is pretty good as are the sausages. I always preferred live crawfish but the ones I got don't have the flavors fully absorbed and not all the fresh crawfish are actually fresh (texture is off). My friends thought it was a bit too much garlic, but I liked it, heck I LOVED It! My house mate devoured the oysters, which were $1.50 during happy hour. The basked on the other hand was not at good. The breading for the fish tasted like older or like overcooked and you can see in the picture and determine for yourself usually fried catfish is usually a little lighter in color and lightly breaded. I have never been so excited to try a place only to be disappointed. The food was not good at all. I had the fish basked, oyster basket, lemon pepper wings, and fried okra. I'm not sure about the boils I didn't try it. Not sure if I want to but yet curious if that's why they have a high rating. The okra tastes like it was cooked in Castro oil, it didn't have any seasoning it taste like it was thrown in flour then fired in old grease. The fish was old it was wash to mushy and wasn't white it was like a pinkish brown color. I cook fish enough to know that it was old fish. It made me hesitate to eat the oysters which tasted worse than the okra same batter the chicken was seasoned well but old meat as well the fries were decent. I threw it all away. I noticed right away the catfish basket, I love deep fried catfish since I've been in Alabama and tried it. So I knew what I wanted, the catfish and the Gumbo Soup that I like. I don't care much for the messy Cajun seafood that my wife and daughter are going to get. There are 2 combos, and they decided to get the big one, combo 2 for $90. My son wanted the chicken Cajun Fried Rice to be safe and will try some of the messy Cajun seafood. The garlic fries seemed to be tasty so we ordered one basket. For my fries that come with the basket, my daughter wanted to try the lemon pepper fries so I ordered that for her. - Catfish basket and Gumbo Soup (with rice): For me this combo is perfect for a dinner. Finished up after a round of golf and wanted something spicy, so we headed over to Cajun Crack'n for some seafood boil. When we arrived, we got a table right away. We opted to go for their special deal which was $43.99 with a 1lb of head off shrimp and snow crab legs, plus an extra 1/2 pound of sausage, and extra corn plus lemon pepper fries, the total came out to around $70. The shrimp was a bit mushy and hard to peel. Crab was pretty good though. We got the spiciest they had, and yes it was actually spicy. Probably one of the better spicier sauces I've had at a seafood boil. I was surprised how thick the sauce was and it coated every bite. We enjoyed it but I wish there was more sauce, bc I think it would've helped cooked the seafood a bit more. You have the option to put it on the tray or keep it in the bag, I'd keep it in the bag to keep it warm bc on the tray, things got cold quicker. The sauce on my seafood boil was delicious. I got their house sauce mouth, but I wish I would've gotten medium because Maud was not spicy at all. The seafood tasted fresh. there was a lot of seating and the weight wasn't long although they were busy. Table service was slow. I never received a refill on my water and I found myself waiting more than 20 minutes just to get my check. I would recommend not going on a weekend or definitely not a Friday night. The ambience was what you would expect for this type of restaurant. They had a huge bar, which was nice. The place gets loud. overall, I rate my experience a three out of five. read more
