Very good ramen. Nice texture. The broth was flavorful and just the right amount of spicy hot - actually more than I was expecting when there wasn't an option. But again, it was perfect spicy IMO. We're on our way up to Central Coast and we were getting hungry and so glad to come across this Ramen/Sushi shop. The "old school tonkatsu" soup broth is the must have here. Customer service was friendly and accommodating to say the least. I love this spot!!! I hesitate to share, I kinda want to gatekeep so the wait doesn't get crazy. But yall, Cagami hits it out of the park every time! Stellar service, amazing food, and quality. They send coupons to our email on the regular. I almost always try something different because I've never been let down. Go for the old school tonkatsu or tsukemen dipping style ramen! And extra points to their kind and attentive staff. Tonight I left my retainer on the table in a napkin, drove home, and realized too late. This is in the same mall as WABA, Baja Fresh, and Habit Burger. I had trouble finding it. It's immediately adjacent to the Habit Burger. I wasn't sure whether this was a Japanese ramen bar because of the way it spells its name. But it is authentically Japanese. I had the tonkotsu ramen with extra moyashi, negi, nori, and wood-ear mushrooms. The service was very attentive. Tonkotsu broth was rich and creamy. I enjoyed the experience. read more

My boyfriend and I LOVE this spot! We're local to Ojai, but make the trip to Camarillo for Cagami. Personally, I'm very picky about my ramen. However, Cagami does it best! The broth is packed with flavor (unlike other places who serve broth as dull as dishwater), and the food always tastes fresh and authentic. Visited in a Tuesday at 5:10pm and the store was already almost fully seated, so it's a very popular spot. They had so many togo orders off the bat and service is meant to just be quick. I opted for their classic tonkotsu ramen and it was perfect. Tasted authentic and similar to spots in LA I've tried. Their ramen is Fukuoka style ramen, which is actually the birthplace of tonkotsu. Light, yet with a thick enough body, and the perfect saltiness. Their thin noodles were cooked to my liking and their chashu was melt in your mouth. Store isn't spotless and actually pretty "worn," but they've been open for 6 years now and provides a homey vibe. No music playing either, seems like everyone is just there for good ramen. We were craving ramen after shopping the outlets in Camarillo and went to Cagami ramen. If you want some delicious ramen, come here. We ordered the Old School Tonkatsu and the Cagami Kara-miso ramen. Both of them were very tasty with a rich broth. Noodles were cooked perfect, as well as the soft boiled egg. Pork belly was tender and delicious. We also ordered their Takoyaki for an appetizer. If you haven't had them before, try them. They are balled shaped mini pancakes with diced octopus and other ingredients, topped with a sweet sauce. It was so good and we loved how the bonito flakes complimented the sauce. Must try when you go here. They have other items on the menu and we will be back to try them all! The restaurant has a bar area, some tables and booths. Get here early because it can get very busy. The service was fast and the staff were very attentive and friendly. We'll be back! I've been here a few times. My ramen is usually good, but a bit pricey. It's around $20 for a typical bowl. Gyozas were $15 for 6, so you do the math. Flavor-wise, my beef ramen is always yummy. Meats are well marinated and soups are flavorful. The pork special tastes a little bland to me, but maybe that's typical for Japanese ramen with pork. read more

New management, this place has significantly gone down hill. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but in this case it is warranted. They made an authentic, delicious mom and pop shop into an Americanized money grab - about $10-15 more expensive per meal for lower quality food. Shoyu Ramen tasted like spicy ground pepper, noodles were gooey and goopy. Pork pieces were extremely small, and mostly all fat and inedible. My friends Curry Ramen was also goopy and tasted weird / inauthentic. We both always finish our ramen, especially at Cagami - but couldn't finish this time around and left hungry. They charge extra for everything like Eggs now, and it came out whole and the yolk was not the consistency from past experiences. This place has been a staple for us for YEARS and I sadly will not be back and will warn my other friends who loved this place of the new changes. read more

When the salty, nutty, savory broth covered every nook and cranny of my mouth, I knew I had found my favorite ramen shop in Ventura County. When we walked into this tiny unassuming restaurant, the first thing I noticed was that the restaurant was small, old, and a little dirty. There were about 3 booths and 3 small tables with bar seating and a couple tables outside. The parking lot is medium sized with plenty of parking. Service was quick and our food came out piping hot. I ordered the Tan Tan Tsukemen which was fantastic and filling. The noodles were large and chewy and they picked up the broth very well. The bok choy and bean sprouts were crisp and fresh. The 2 chashu pieces were tender and flavorful as were the chashu chunks in the broth. I found myself sipping on the broth after I finished all my noodles, which may give you a heart attack. It came with a red chili paste which gave it a nice kick. My wife had their tonkotsu ramen and she thought it was really good as well. At about 17 dollars, it was comparable to other Tsukemen I've had, but I think the portion was slightly larger than average. Some of the topping choices, like the Egg is a little pricey at 2.50 though! I've been here multiple times now and I highly recommend this place if you're looking for good Japanese ramen. read more

The Old School Tonkotsu is delicious and it is definitely the highlight of the meal. The broth is umami and served in perfect temperature. There's a slight charred flavor to the chashu which elevated the ramen flavor. The noodles were cooked al dente. I also tried Tsukemen and it was a disappointment. The broth was only warm so it makes the dish very oily and heavy.
