Wrong bread
Isabella F.

Absolutely the worst dining experience I've ever had. The second we walked in, it was obvious nobody cared. There was a line of customers waiting to order while at least six employees stood around doing next to nothing. We all just stood there being ignored while one employee casually and slowly wiped down the counter instead of helping the growing line. I've never seen so many employees accomplish so little. We finally gave up and ordered on the app after getting ice cream next door. The app notified us that our food was ready, so we walked back in... and, surprise, it wasn't ready. Apparently the "ready" notification means absolutely nothing. Then everything else fell apart. They were out of enchilada soup, and instead of making it right, they refused to reimburse me for the tortilla chips, sour cream, and cheese that come with it when I had to switch to a different soup. So I paid for items I never received. Then they made my sandwich on wheat bread even though I specifically ordered white. The photo clearly shows the mistake. It's hard to understand how an order can be wrong when it's placed through the app. And somehow they were also out of chocolate-covered strawberries. Instead of offering an actual replacement like cheesecake or another dessert, they offered an extra roll. An extra roll? That's honestly insulting. I've never been to a restaurant that was this disorganized. They were out of multiple menu items, got my order wrong, refused to properly compensate for what they couldn't provide, and had some of the slowest, most indifferent service I've ever seen. This place is a complete disaster, and I won't be wasting my money here again. Management needs to do something.

Food was amazinggg!! I love cafe zupas and it is worth every overpriced penny spent, we ordered a whole buffet and tried different things and they alll came out amazing! Super friendly staff and we're looking to try to save us money And the strawberries are back! Elvira was super friendly she was our server the whole way and loved her accent.

Voicemail after I placed order and called zupas to make sure sandwich was made properly.

Wow. So bad. 2 days in a row spend $25 for my order to be made wrong. I was promised it would be made correctly, then it was delivered and was still wrong and inedible. So sad.

WARNING I Ordered from Zupas Tuesday night. I woke up Wednesday and I was EXTREMELY sick and ended up with foodbourne illness. Today, Sunday, is the first day I've been able to eat anything. I ended up extremely dehydrated and almost went to the hospital. I ordered lobster bisque soup and the crab and avocado melt. I used to order here all the time and I will never ever order from here again.

Not busy tonight. We got super fast service.

Stopped in to get soup for dinner. No crowds which was great. Staff was cleaning and helped us promptly. Ordered mushroom and chicken noodle soup. Super good and tasty. Exactly what I needed on a cold day. Crackers were available near the drink bar. Had the cheesecake as well. Delicious. Always a good meal at Zupas. Hope to see you here sometime!

I was told, the Entrees are made to take and heat at home. Everything is made to order so it's fresh! Just be prepared to wait....for a while.....she did give us a heads up it was gonna be about 15-20, but it pushed closer to 25-30. Coming off a flight hungry, we are doubting our decision to come here. After 30 mins, our food finally arrives! We got the house sandwich (ham and turkey w/lettuce tomato and homemade herb Dijon sauce). It was served with a sugar cookie and a cup of pasta salad. Not bad for $16.99! The sandwich was delicious and tasty! Maybe cause we were beyond starving. The pasta salad was just ok. The sugar cookie was nice and soft. It wasn't crumbly or dry. The frosting on top had just enough sweetness to give the cookie some flavor. My daughter got the roast beef sandwich which came with cheese, a bunch of arugula, and a homemade garlic horseradish sauce. She opted out of the pickled onions. Her sandwich also came with a cup of pasta salad and a sugar cookie. The sandwich was flavorful and the peppery arugula completed the sandwich. We both agreed that the roast beef sandwich was the better of the two. All-in-all this is a good sandwich place. One thing I didn't care for was the long wait. I understand that they might have been a bit busy and everything is made to order, but the time that I was quoted to what we actually waited, we probably would have gone somewhere else.

As a matter of fact, there is only one small table there if you choose to dine in, and there is a couch there, mostly for patrons waiting for their order. Renee's (owner, chef) philosophy is that we do not spend enough time at home. She says to take her food home, eat with family, friends. Eat in your pajamas. Relax, enjoy. We work to hard, we are too busy. Food and mealtime should be a remedy for that, at the very least, a respite. Renee took time to visit with me. She is outgoing and a very cheerful person, a delight to converse with. She has extensive experience in the hospitality field and a great education with a Culinary Degree from Le Cordon Bleu. And it shows. Now the food--wow. The House Sandwich Box was outstanding. Just the right amount of ingredients to balance all the flavors. I must say that this is one of the very few, if not the only times, that we have actually tasted *smoked* turkey in a sandwich. Other sandwiches may say they use smoked turkey, but this one tasted smokey and boy was it good! You must try the piri piri chicken. And like Renee points out and as other reviews here have instructed, you use the slaw that comes with it with every bite because it compliments the flavors of the chicken. So, so good! The kitchen area is cordoned off with glass so that you can watch them prepare the meals. It is a cozy little place, but works well with what Renee is trying to do. Let's get the word out about this place! She is in her second year and I want this restaurant to succeed! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

I ordered the Rib Eye Steak Pho ($15.45), which was essentially a rare beef pho, and that was definitely the highlight of the meal. If I were rating the restaurant strictly on the pho, I would probably give it four stars. The broth was flavorful, the beef was good, and overall I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, just about everything else brought the experience down considerably. The biggest problems were the lack of cleanliness and the almost completely absent service. No one voluntarily came back to my table to check on me during my entire meal. Anytime I needed something, I literally had to get up, walk toward the back of the restaurant, find someone, and ask them to come out. I had to do this for water, my iced coffee, and even some extra green onions. That's simply not acceptable table service. I also ordered the fried pot stickers, 5 pieces ($7.95). They were okay, but there was really nothing special or memorable about them. The Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk ($5.95) was also disappointing. It tasted watered down and lacked the strong, rich coffee flavor I normally expect from Vietnamese iced coffee. My food subtotal was $29.35, plus an $0.88 credit-card surcharge and $2.58 tax, bringing the total to $32.81 before tip. I was actually leaning toward 2 1/2 stars, but the pho was good enough to pull the overall rating up to three. Even so, between the cleanliness issues, nonexistent attention from the staff, mediocre pot stickers, and weak iced coffee, this was a pretty disappointing visit. I doubt I would return, but if I did, it would probably only be for the pho--and I would go in with very low expectations when it comes to service and cleanliness.

It'd be a few minutes for the ham and cheese, but they box up my wife's two slices of bread and my other croissant and we wait. Heading for the freeway I open the bag and start on my savory croissant. A half hour later and I ask for the Almost Croissant. "OMG... They are too pretty to eat, I have to take a picture first!" There were probably 20 diners at this location at 4-5 tables at 2:00 PM on a Sunday. I counted about 10-12 employees. The wait for everything seemed a little too long for the employee/diner ratio. The food was just OK. The brisket sandwich was very dry and pulled, like pulled pork, but without any juices. I know it's not a smokehouse and they likely just order overcooked roasted brisket from Cisco or something, but when you order a brisket sandwich for $14, there are expectations. Ordered coffee with lunch. Waiter brought two coffees and a small container of cream. Asked to refill about halfway through. Brought coffees and no cream. So I asked again. Then about 5 minutes later I asked again. Then I watched our waiter go into the open kitchen area and lean against a counter and chat and laugh with two other staff for 5 minutes. I stood up and walked toward him and he saw me. He broke with the group, came out and said, "Sorry, I had to do something in the back." Very mediocre experience overall. Not what I expected based on previous experiences at the other location. Also, noisy dining room, no solid buffering insulation in the ceiling. Cafeteria-like experience.
