3 Stars - Good Pho, but Cleanliness and Service Were Major Problems You and I Kitchen - Sandy 8528 S 1300 E Sandy, UT 84048 Visited: August 13, 2026 I decided to give You and I Kitchen a try because I believe its Yelp rating was over four stars, which, after my visit, I find pretty hard to believe. I ordered the Rib Eye Steak Pho ($15.45), which was essentially a rare beef pho, and that was definitely the highlight of the meal. If I were rating the restaurant strictly on the pho, I would probably give it four stars. The broth was flavorful, the beef was good, and overall I enjoyed it. Unfortunately, just about everything else brought the experience down considerably. The biggest problems were the lack of cleanliness and the almost completely absent service. No one voluntarily came back to my table to check on me during my entire meal. Anytime I needed something, I literally had to get up, walk toward the back of the restaurant, find someone, and ask them to come out. I had to do this for water, my iced coffee, and even some extra green onions. That's simply not acceptable table service. I also ordered the fried pot stickers, 5 pieces ($7.95). They were okay, but there was really nothing special or memorable about them. The Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk ($5.95) was also disappointing. It tasted watered down and lacked the strong, rich coffee flavor I normally expect from Vietnamese iced coffee. My food subtotal was $29.35, plus an $0.88 credit-card surcharge and $2.58 tax, bringing the total to $32.81 before tip. I was actually leaning toward 2 1/2 stars, but the pho was good enough to pull the overall rating up to three. Even so, between the cleanliness issues, nonexistent attention from the staff, mediocre pot stickers, and weak iced coffee, this was a pretty disappointing visit. I doubt I would return, but if I did, it would probably only be for the pho--and I would go in with very low expectations when it comes to service and cleanliness. read more

I came here on a Friday evening and it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a while. The food, service, and environment were all disappointing. After checking in and placing our order, we waited nearly 40 minutes only to be given the wrong pho. When we let the server know, he took it back and served the same bowl to another table, where that customer also said it wasn't hers. Meanwhile, tables that arrived after us were served before we ever saw any food. We never received our appetizers of spring rolls and cream cheese wontons. Another 10 minutes goes back, our pho and bun bo hue finally arrived. The soups themselves were underwhelming. Both bowls had very few noodles - I got maybe three bites of vermicelli before it was gone, and only about five tiny pieces of brisket. I've attached a photo to show our bowls a couple sips in. On top of that, the service felt chaotic and inattentive. I understand that they seemed short staffed, but the server's attitude was a turn off. At one point he rushed past and kicked my chair, which was startling. When it came time to pay, we stood at the counter with another party for five minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Overall, it was a frustrating experience from start to finish, and absolutely ridiculous that it took an hour to receive two disappointing bowls of pho without the appetizers we ordered. The Pho at this location is very flavorful. I ordered the Rib-Eye and Brisket Pho. However, the amount of noodles and meat included in the bowl is by far the least amount I have received from other locations. When we were seated, we ordered 2 appetizers (Spring roll and wontons) as well as our 2 orders of Pho. After 30 minutes our appetizers never came and instead our Pho arrived. They tried to serve us Pho that we didn't order and then proceeded to try and give it to another table that also didn't order it. The service was not good and I'm pretty disappointed. The overall environment is clean and pleasant. Nothing to call home about but the music was nice and the tables were spaced out well. I stopped here on day for a late lunch and was starving! I pretty much always order brisket pho. The flavor of the broth was really good and it included quite a bit of brisket. I'm not sure if I was just so hungry that I slurped all the noodles up first or what but it seemed like I ran out of noodles more quickly than normal. Regardless i will back. You and I Kitchen is a go-to place for good food and service. When the owner is around, he's always so friendly. The pho is quite good, and so are the rice plates. The rib-eye pho is the way to go, and the meat is really delicious and tender, better than most other pho restaurants. One thing I don't love is that they charge you a fee if you pay with a credit card. I know costs are going up and I get it-- I wish they'd just increase the food prices or something; it always feels a bit weird to have a price adjustment explicitly passed on to the customer like that at the end. read more

I got the house specialty pho with extra meat and the appetizer egg rolls. The egg rolls were a very filling and crispy appetizer, could've easily shared it between 2-3 people. Thought it was interesting that there wasn't any lettuce that's typically paired with this. The pho was really good as well. The broth was tasteful and the meats were filling. I was surprised that there wasn't any flank or tendon as extra adds or in any of the other pho options, but I thought that the ribeye, brisket, and meatballs were good enough. Would recommend getting this one if you're looking for a general combo option. The prices were pretty even with other kinda fast casual type restaurants and Pho places I've been. Most their dishes are between $9-13 and that's what I expected going in, but for what I got I think it was a little overpriced. Don't get me wrong the food was tasty and I think you'll enjoy giving it a try. Super dissatisfied with the service. Made a simple request to leave mayo off our bahn mi sandwiches, then not only was the request met somewhat rudely, it was ignored. This place was expensive and not good. We got two phos one chicken and one ribeye and the chicken one was not good, it was just like chicken soup and add the noddles. The noddles weren't even cooked all the way. No seasoning on the broth. Don't waste your money here. read more
