Needed a spot to work for a few minutes with WiFi and coffee. Stopped here near downtown Providence. Coffee is delicious and the food is too. I got the ham and cheese baguette with a Classico cup of brewed coffee. I think I'll try the cold brew tomorrow. Great spot for a quick and easy breakfast. The staff was really fast, kind, and helpful. Would recommend.

Caffe Nero is directly across from the Omni as you head toward downtown "Downcity" Providence. We stopped here three times, and dined here twice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When this place isn't too busy, it's excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a warm ham & cheese croissant which was tasty and on the third visit I enjoyed a warm ham and cheese baguette. The service was friendly and prompt and the food was simple but tasty. So what happened on the 2nd visit? We just stood in line and didn't move for almost ten minutes. They were processing many phone orders and couldn't keep up. So we left and headed elsewhere on that visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, as long as their not too busy, I'd be happy to grab a quick bite here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We wanted something quick to eat before heading out and decided to come to this cafe.café. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a nice rustic book decor and feeling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was a line close to rhe door when we got there. We waited about 15 minutes but it was worth it. The service was great!! We ordered the lemon coconut frappe which was perfect blend and none of the flavors overshadowed the other. The strawberry watermelon refresher is a must to get! The butter crumb cake was nice and dense. Also, huge! The pistachio muffin and the raspberry muffin had great flavors and wasn't too much. The next time we visit Providence, this place will be a must to go to!

I stopped by the coffee shop because it was near the convention center in RI, and it opened at 6:30, which was good for me, since I drove from Boston in the early morning and needed a cup of coffee so much! I ordered a hot drip coffee with extra half-and-half and pistachio muffins. Both were so delicious! The coffee had a citrusy flavor. It might be hard to find a parking space, as it is located on a busy street, but it is a good place to get on wifi and have a good coffee.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A really cool coffee shop.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Stopped in for a latte and bagel. I had the everything bagel and my girlfriend had a croissant. It was a great start to the day. They also had different types of danishes and cakes. If you want a breakfast sandwich they have that as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The coffee shop was really nice with various types of seating areas (tables, comfortable chairs and high top chairs).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I really enjoyed this spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The space here is really nice -- huge, with lots of seating and little corners where you don't feel crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great spot to get some work done or just hang out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The line was long even in the middle of the day, and while the staff was friendly, they seemed a bit understaffed. I ordered a caramel latte, but it came out more like a cappuccino with way too much foam (though the foam itself was tasty and creamy). They do source their milk and coffee thoughtfully, which is a plus, and there's a good variety of food options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, the ambience was the highlight (4 stars), while the coffee itself was just okay (3 stars).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A nice experience, but not a standout.

Stopped in for some afternoon coffee and sweets. Not disappointed. We sampled tiramisu, cinnamon bun and chocolate cake. The tiramisu was one of the best Jess has had. Light and full of flavor. Cinnamon bun had awesome icing, but likely was better freshly baked. The cake was rich and chocolatey, but a bit dry. I had cold brew with cold foam and it was excellent. Strong, but not bitter at all. Jess had latte, her favorite and liked it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute place, great service from Tolani.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Her work partner seemed a bit controlling, so glad we had her serving us.

I came back to Caffè Nero for their Iced Strawberry and Vanilla Matcha. I really liked their matcha, but the strawberry preserves were a bit too sweet. Either way, it was a very refreshing drink. I also got the Butter Crumb Cake and this was very moist and smooth. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff are always friendly and there are always plenty of seating inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Caffè Nero remains a great spot to kick off your morning or recharge midday.

Came in from AZ for 4 days & stayed at the Omni Hotel so I decided to walk across the street to check this Café place out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was a clean & quaint place to meet up with friends & have a large selection of drinks & baked goodies to suit anyone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered an Italian Ciabatta (which they heated & sent it to space), a Butter Crumb Cake & a fruit smoothie of sorts (Opted out of Energy & Protein) & all were very delicious. The gentleman with a beard that appeared to be training a new-hire lady, was very prompt in taking my order, came off as a professional in what he does but still remained kind & made me feel that my business was valued. After he took my order, I also felt he had it all under control & he did. I would recommend this place to anyone staying near the area of the Omni Hotel.

Caffe Nero is a staple in the neighborhood! The drinks and snacks are very good! I don't personally like the chai latte here, and since that is my go-to drink at a coffee shop, I rated Nero a 4. I tried a new snack today, their raspberry croissant muffin, which was delicious! [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like that the space is very large and has plenty of seating. There's a mix of small tables, large tables, high tops, and armchairs. I love the mix of seating that can serve a bunch of purposes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff are usually very friendly. However, it isn't always the quickest service. If the line is long, it sometimes takes a while for the staff to make drinks and heat up food to get through the line quickly. The line is rarely that long though, so it's still worth a visit!

From the great music vibes, to the gorgeous space inside, this Caffe Nero is a must visit. Definitely recommend getting the Tiramisu Latte because o m g it's SO GOOD???????? It's unbelievably like perfectly sweet yet not too much and also has a wonderful taste of coffee...yumMYYY!!!

We stopped in for a quick breakfast, [[HIGHLIGHT]]plenty of seating, relaxed atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed white mocha lattes, frittata, egg sandwich and an apple pastry. Would not hesitate to come again if in the area.

We have friends in the area who had heard of the place, but had never gone, so we made a reservation (2.5 months ahead for a 4 some on a Friday, so it must be special...) and finally got to see what the fuss was about. (Still wondering.) We started with what ended up being a high point, "beets and frites." A very interesting take with a lot of frites, not enough beets (5 slices under the stack), and about 2 tablespoons of the lemon aioli. The few tastes of the 3-part combination were great. The frites, crisp and soooo thin, were good on their own. The olive oil that came with the bread was very green (young), with a strong flavor but I was surprised that there was no pepper grinder. I had the (special) cod, which came with a lazy prep of broccoli rabe and OK potatoes. The fish was cooked well, moist and fresh, but I'm still not sure what the flavorless green topping was. Our table also had oxtail ravioli, which consisted of tasty little purses of thin pasta and nicely flavored meat inside. (Probably the best entree, and gained the second star.) The eggplant was unremarkable in terms of flavor of the sauce, and the veggies that went into it did not seem to be very fresh. For dessert, we had rhubarb peach tart and chocolate bread pudding. The tart was mostly crust and very shy on the rhubarb. The bread pudding apparently used Hershey's chocolate powder which was not a great flavor and left a grainy texture. The server was not very friendly, somewhat pushy, and insisted that we order the dessert when we ordered everything else. Allegedly, this was because the dessert is made to order, but we had the impression that it was to expedite our table time. Even so, with all that "careful planning" only 3 of the 4 entrees made an entry and we waited quite a while for the 4th to show up, even after asking. Overall, not a good experience and not a place I'll plan to revisit.

Our server, Dwight, seemed rushed and inattentive throughout the evening. From the start, we felt like an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. We asked if we could move to a nearby table that was already set for eight, as our current table was cramped and located in a very tight walkway where people constantly brushed past us. We were told the table was reserved, yet from the time we arrived just before 6:00 PM until we left at 8:45 PM, no one was ever seated there. It was frustrating, especially since the cramped space made our dining experience uncomfortable. Service overall was lacking. Dwight rarely checked on us, and when we tried to get his attention for drinks or assistance, he would quickly pass by before we had the chance to ask. It often felt like we were bothering him. We were not offered water, and getting additional beverages was unnecessarily difficult. The food itself was just okay, nothing memorable. When we ordered dessert and cappuccino, the cappuccino tasted like it was made with spoiled milk, but again, no one came back to check on us, so we had no opportunity to address it. The most disappointing moment was the birthday acknowledgment. We asked for a dessert with a candle to celebrate an 85th birthday, and instead received a plate with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate, a small amount of whipped cream, and a candle. It was underwhelming and, honestly, a bit embarrassing. We would have gladly paid for a proper dessert. Jacob the busser was the only attentive one there. We have come to Pane e Vino every year for family birthdays because we've always enjoyed the atmosphere, but after this experience, we will not be returning.

Our favorite drink for a night out is a dirty martini extra dirty. The martinis here are NEVER cold enough. They are legit luke warm. So we have learned to ask for them extra shaken here. Not only were our martinis still not cold, but they were clear aka not dirty. We sent them back based on the color and our server brought the same martinis back with a side of olive juice. After trying them with the extra juice they had a dirty water taste to them, almost like the ice used to shake them was dirty, which is ironic considering they were barely cold. I hate to do this but we sent them back again and let the server know they simply didn't taste good and also were not cold enough. He ended up going back and making them himself and they were much better but STILL. It shouldn't be this difficult for a bartender to make a very standard drink. The food unfortunately was also very mid. The table behind us actually sent their food back twice as well and the manager had to come over. It's also worth noting I put in the reservation it was my husband's birthday and there was no acknowledgement of it at all. This restaurant is meant to be a splurge for a nice dinner out and honestly was not up to par at all. $300 dinner for two and I was extremely disappointed. Honestly don't think we will be back.

Costantino's Venda Bar & Ristorante falls squarely into that second category for me. Years ago, when I was living in Providence, Friday nights often meant a trip to Federal Hill and a pizza from Venda to take home. It became such a regular thing that the drive over felt automatic. Even now, whenever I'm on the Hill and trying to decide where to eat, this is usually one of the first places that comes to mind. I've eaten here enough times that I honestly think I've worked my way through just about everything on the menu. That's not an exaggeration. The impressive part is that I can't think of a meal that left me disappointed. Whether it's pasta, seafood, pizza, or one of their specials, the food is consistently good. In a restaurant business where consistency can be surprisingly hard to find, that's worth recognizing. The wine list deserves a mention of its own. If you're a wine enthusiast, you could spend a lot of time exploring the selections here. I know I certainly have, and I'm afraid to calculate how much money I've spent doing exactly that over the years. No regrets, though. The staff behind the bar know what they're talking about and are always happy to make recommendations. The same goes for the cocktail and spirits selection. Friendly, knowledgeable, and never pretentious. Don't skip dessert, either. Every time I tell myself I'm too full, I somehow end up looking at the dessert menu anyway. One thing I appreciate is the parking situation. Anyone familiar with Federal Hill knows parking can sometimes feel like a competitive sport. The valet service is especially helpful on busy Friday and Saturday evenings. If valet isn't your thing, there are independent lots nearby, and occasionally you'll get lucky and find a spot on the street. During the warmer months, sitting outside in DePasquale Square is one of the best dining experiences in Providence. Good food, a glass of wine, live music drifting through the square, and people enjoying the evening. It's hard not to have a good time. One practical note: I'm a cash guy, so it doesn't affect me personally, but friends have mentioned there's a processing fee when paying by card. Just something to be aware of before the check arrives. It's also a great place to stop for an afternoon drink before heading elsewhere in the city. Whether you're settling in for a full dinner or just grabbing a glass of wine and people-watching for a while, Costantino's Venda Bar & Ristorante continues to be one of the most reliable spots on Federal Hill. Some restaurants have great nights. This place has been delivering great years.
