I ended up visiting several different Caffè Nero locations during my time in Boston. I frequented this location, the most as it was near my hotel. I found each café was a charming little coffee shop, unique in its own way, yet all shared a delightful theme that felt like a cozy library or bookstore. The atmosphere was inviting and perfect for relaxing with a good book or catching up on some work. I really enjoyed their coffee shops and even brought home a bag of their beans. The quality of the coffee was consistently excellent, and the ambiance made each visit enjoyable.

Literally false advertising compared to the strawberry matcha you actually get.

Quite literally one of the Worst strawberry Matchas I've ever had. It didn't taste like matcha at all and the strawberry syrup from a bottle feels like false advertising compared the photo they have advertising the matcha. The Staff at this location are also incredibly rude and inhospitable. The whole time I was in front of the bar waiting the barista didn't interact with anymore until it was my turn and he just said "what do you want" and after I nicely asked for my drink he still didn't say anything just rung the total up and walked away and then handed off the drink in silence! Completely bad vibes to add to the empty cold ambiance of the cafe.

Latte, house coffee, and two sandwiches in the display case

Brief Summary: - Coffee is not sour - Indoor seating available Started off the morning needing to get some coffee and a sandwich, so we picked one closest to the Red Line station. This cafe is large from the outside and also spacious inside with seats on the first and second floor. The staff was easygoing, taking their time accepting our order and serving us while the guests waited in line. The coffee was not sour and the sandwiches were warmed up for us. Overall, a good eating experience and I liked how it was conveniently located near one of the main shopping locations in this area.

There are a bunch of Caffè Nero locations around, but this is one of my favorites. Whenever I'm in the city and I have some time to kill, I head over and find a cozy spot to pass the time. It's usually pretty busy, but generally there are open tables and booths available. Their drinks and baked goods aren't anything especially unique or delicious, but they get the job done. For me, it's really about the ambiance. Not a bad option for a quick drink/bite!

Can't put my finger on it. The decor is very nice. The spacious seating is great. The service and food isn't good.

Cold Foam Cold Brew (16oz) Italian Ciabatta
Devin V.

Came here to work and ordered a cold brew with the seasonal pumpkin cold foam & and italian ciabatta. The drink was perfect, but the pumpkin flavor could have been slightly more pumpkin-y! The sandwich was perfect, no complaints. Have plenty of seating available, but mid afternoon on a Sunday I had to walk around for a bit before finding a nice spot in the corner. Had to unfortunately leave early because a giant street party started right outside the shop and the bass was overwhelming, even with headphones in, but that's nothing the cafe can control. Service was kind and efficient! Would definitely revisit this location, but probably on a weekday instead of a weekend.

I have no qualms with Caffè Nero as a brand but this particular location has without a doubt some of the worst employees of any store I've visited. I asked the employee about a coffee and cake combo they had on the wall and was met with a loud sigh and rude tone of voice. Fine. She's having a bad day I get it. When she rung us up she didn't know how to put the combo in the machine and after patiently waiting she got frustrated and proclaimed "I can't get it to work this is the price, what do you want to do?!" We were shocked at this and when we inquired as to whether the machine was the issue she walked off and just didn't come back. I'd give this a 0 star if I could. There is no semblance of professionalism and they'll treat you like a nuisance for being in their store.

RUDEST BARISTAS EVER. Did not smile, were RUDE, when their iPads were broken, they could've spoken nicely as all their mobile orders were not popping up (I had already paid for my order). Instead of chatting nicely, I left. The coffee is also eh.... Not worth the rudeness. Got an iced Americano and was excited to try such a refined coffee shop but it was very ok. Also the store is dirty, and the bathrooms are as well. It's always packed which isn't a bad thing as people come to study and work in the cafe, but it's nasty.

Showing my friend around the downtown crossing are and we decided to stop for a Boston coffee pick me upper. I had an iced latte with oat milk and a cheese frittata. This was a perfect late snack before grabbing dinner later in the north end. My coffee was just right and the frittata was cheesy as I like it. The staff was very welcoming and funny!

2 Stars. As you are choosing the star rating, Yelp offers "Could've been better" for 2 stars. That's exactly how my experience felt. I wanted it to be good- it has the potential- it just wasn't. The coffee was weak and bland. The employees were not very friends. I love the looks and appeal! Sitting next to the windows provides fantastic people watching opportunities. It just... Could have been better!

Great space to work and hang out. Quiet big with an upstairs. The staff was not too friendly however. Gave me a lot of attitude when I asked for the code for the bathroom even though I was buying something.

Great coffee and super nice staff. I read a few reviews here, but I have no idea why some were so poor. Perhaps a new staff? In any case, EXCELLENT!

It's a pretty great sandwich, actually. I like the Boss, but there are many great options. There are just two things to keep in mind: 1) it's relatively expensive (though doable) 2) the sandwiches are quite rich and salty, often relying on a flavorful cream element (truffle cream, pistachio cream, etc.) As a result, I probably wouldn't go every day or even every week. But a once-a-month cadence or so would be great. Try it!

But I'm actually writing about the company's website and phone recording. Once, on a prior holiday, and today due to a winter storm, I wasn't sure if the restaurant was open. In both cases (where the restaurant turned out to be closed), the website (appropriately) didn't allow online orders, and (more importantly) THE OUTGOING PHONE RECORDING WAS UPDATED WITH CURRENT INFORMATION. In an era where businesses barely have phone numbers to call, or employees who answer with something other than 'hello', is rare (and by the way, this is the fault of management if they don't properly train their staff). It was the gold standard for a real sandwich in the city. Sadly, the magic has faded. Between the soaring prices and the shrinking portions, the value just isn't there anymore. You can taste the "corner-cutting"--the flavors aren't as bold as they used to be, and the sandwiches feel noticeably smaller even though the cost has increased exponentially - I mean $30 for a sammy?! It should have gold in it! Even then, I'd keep coming once in awhile if the service was worth it. but honestly - the staff seems burnt out even bright early in the morning. It's hard to justify the premium price for a shadow of what this place used to be.

That being said, I ordered ahead online and my sandwich was ready when I got there. (This was a Thursday afternoon). I got the vodka chicken Parm after seeing it online and it definitely lives up to the hype. And yes, it is ~$30. The sandwich is huge. It has huge cutlets in it which are very filling, and perfectly made. It ended up being enough for two people, so find a person to share it with! The vodka sauce in the sandwich was sooooo good, definitely one of the best I've found in boston. They also provide you with a whole container of sauce to dip your sandwich into (highly recommend doing that). What lost the star is that I felt there wasn't enough basil. For that huge sandwich, there was actually very few bites with basil. I wish there was more of it, and I also wish there was some other green in there like arugula. Other than that, it's a great sandwich. I'd definitely get this again!

The spinach tortellini with the pesto cream sauce is my absolute favorite- it's a HUGE portion and so delicious. It usually lasts me at least 2 meals. The bread they include is also great! I like to dip it in the sauce. The past time I got Dino's I accidentally ordered spinach ravioli instead of tortellini...that was my bad. HOWEVER I think I might have found my new favorite? The raviolis are huge and so fat. I'm talking like 1/2 inch - 3/4 inch thick. There is so much stuffing and the spinach ricotta mix tastes so fresh and delicious...it's a must try. I've also gotten the eggplant parm before, and the fettuccini Alfredo. Both were also delicious. I've never had any of the sandwiches, but if they are anything like their pastas then I'm sure they are great! The bang for your buck here is also great which is nice. Highly recommend!
