However, I was not here for the decor. I was here for the food and the drinks! And neither was a disappointment! We ordered two tequila sunrises. Initially I was taken back by the drink served in a plastic resealable bag. That drink was so good and potent- I had to order a water! I felt the drink hit me before I was even half done with it. Then I understood the resealable bag. I could take it home. Genius. The scallops for the appetizers weren't bad at all! I was impressed. But the kicker was the boils. My date had a combo with snow crab. I on the other hand ordered the crab du jour, 2 lobster tails, 1 lb of shrimp, 1 lb clams, sausage, potato and two corns in medium spice with old bay. Suffice it to say I didn't realize the sheer seriousness of my order. Yes, I took it home and went in deep once again. I have no complaints. The food was awesome. The drinks were generous, the waitress was on point. Definitely will be heading back!

I'm a…read moreprecovid frequent dinner and take out was never really my problem thing when I frequented here because it had a certain ambiance with the service when ever I dinned in there that brought me back over and over with different people to experience. So I was so very disappointed when after Covid they continued with the only pick up service. The food quality is enough to continue yes but the vibe dining in and at the bar I truly miss. My daughters fell in love with this place because every time we walked into that dinning room there was a particular servers who KNEW US. They knew us enough to know my daughters had a favorite table (the 1st we sat at dinning there). They know us to know that my daughters had special distinction drink mocktails (one of the reasons the fell in love wit this place) that they could order even when it was no longer in the menu. This was one of those places we frequented....even if they couldn't get their special table or waiter, the quality never disappointed. During Covid we order delivery regularly because we didn't realize how much this spot because our Caribbean food must have. I can't say we ever really had tried a different meal from over favorable ones that made us say this is one thing they don't get right to us. And the rum punches and Bob Marley drinks they served during their dinning days is what got me to the pin t I had to start stopping in this joint just to have a drink and appetizers. This really used to be by spot back when they had dine in services. Over the years it's in our delivery/pickup Bronx favorite list unfortunately. I say unfortunately because now that we are back at full operational living. I har to slash the delivery/pickup weekly rituals to only situations of desperation not necessity. So this spot has only become a craving order delivery/pickup order spot. Not a I got some/gonna make some time to go enjoy a drink and some Caribbean food spot destination. Which this was my #1 default choice before Covid as I said this used to be my spot. I would take my daughters here damn there biweekly if not be there weekly myself on dates and when hanging out . Cause they people there were serious enough about customer service they would acknowledge knowing who you are and treat you as such. Hence again why my daughters loved this place as kids. *Looks right and left* a yoo when yall opening the dinning in area again cause it's been log enough now...FIX IT! lol

I'm giving The Original Crab Shanty a solid 4 out of 5 stars…read more We came in with a MASSIVE group, and they handled us like Diana had been given command of the Enterprise. The restaurant has plenty of room for large parties, and I appreciated how accommodating everyone was. Our server, Diana, deserves her flowers. She was friendly, patient, detailed, and stayed on top of everything. Managing a group our size without needing the Avengers as backup deserves some recognition. Now, the food. Visually, everything came out looking good and cooked properly. The biggest issue across our table was simple: SALT. Somebody apparently sent the seasoning to a galaxy far, far away. I ordered the crab cakes. They were made with real crab and prepared the way crab cakes should be, but mine had almost no flavor. I ended up adding blue cheese to give them some life. I also had the rice with broiled scallops. The scallops were a little chewy, but the sauce had enough seasoning and salt that mixing some into the rice helped tremendously. I wasn't the only one reaching for the salt shaker either. Several people in our group added salt to their meals. The prices also felt high, especially since many of us ordered from the lunch menu. None of this makes me write the place off. The service was strong, they treated our large group well, the seafood was fresh, and there are several things on the menu I still want to try. So yes, I'll return. My final message to the kitchen, with all the seriousness of Captain Picard addressing the bridge: Season the food. The Force is already with the seafood. Now bring the salt.

My partner and I ordered the Meat platter since it's our first time eating Croatian food ever. There's no pork in it at all. They bring out free bread, sliced baguette and sourdough with a chunky hummus and very high quality olive oil. Then the octopus salad came out and this tastes great if you pour the olive oil on it. Then comes the meat platter. Everything was delicious! I loved the mini sausages the best (beef and veal). The chicken was a bit dry. But it came with some sauces. Peppercorn sauce was my favorite. And we also asked for more of the beet puree they use to decorate the plate. Overall, fantastic experience. I'd absolutely come back

I think I officially found my new seafood spot!…read more My boyfriend took me to City Island Lobster House, and the food and service were easily a 5/5. Our waiter, Antonio, was an absolute delight and took great care of us! Fair warning: this place gets PACKED, so be prepared for a wait. One thing I really appreciated, though, was that as soon as our food was ready, they brought it out. Everything arrived HOT and fresh. They start you off with antipasto and garlic bread, and both were SO good. But consider yourself warned pace yourself. We made the rookie mistake of going in a little too hard and were already getting full before our entrées arrived. I mean... you can't go to the Lobster House and not get lobster. I ordered the $49.95 Lobster Clam Bake Special, which came with Maine lobster, mussels, baked clams, corn, clam chowder and dessert. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were generous, and for everything included, I thought it was a great value. My boyfriend ordered the grilled Norwegian salmon, and honestly, his was REALLY good too. Now, if you love garlic like I do, GET THE NOODLES. The linguine in that garlicky olive oil sauce was one of my favorite things on the table. My only miss was the clam chowder. Mine had a lot of potatoes and barely any clams, so I would've liked a much better clam-to-potato ratio. The ice cream cake roll that came with my special, was rich and decadent. Definitely a good way to end the meal. Overall, fresh seafood, generous portions, hot food, great value and wonderful service from Antonio. We will absolutely be back!
