Better known as the Cannoli King, Caffe Palermo is the spot to get dessert with a delicious cappuccino. It's not that the restaurants don't serve dessert but this was an old custom to have dessert at the bakery. We all ordered different desserts with one exception that remained loyal to the cannoli. Love this cafe in Little Italy and have been here many times. There are so many different pastries and treats it is hard to choose. For cannolis there are so many different unique flavors and variations like chocolate, caramel, etc and they have mini sizes too if you don't want the big ones which is great. My favorites were the Maritozzo and lobster tail. The cream tastes super fresh and yummy. I've tried their chai, chocolate chai and vanilla chai. All were good but many times they were out of the regular chai so I had to opt for the chocolate as that was the only one left. Had a fantastic experience at Caffe Palermo this weekend. Coming from an Italian family, I was excited to come and try the cannoli. They did not disappoint me. I tried a large regular and a small hazelnut. My husband and I both loved the creamy smoothness of the filling. Neither were overpowering with sweetness. They were perfectly flavored and the shells had the best crunch. My iced latte was also delicious. This was the best coffee I had while visiting NYC this weekend. The service was extremely quick and all of the workers were kind. We had great suggestions on things to try on our next visit. The establishment was kept clean and had a good ambiance. Our cannoli debacle at another caffe, led us to have to come here to the "Cannoli King." My husband said we were wrong and this was the place, not the other, so we walked in and sat down and my daughter noted, while we waited for our order, that not a single celebrity on the wall that ate there was a real Italian and while neither are we, full Italian atleast, we know cannolis. This place had a better shell, it didn't cut the roof of my mouth as I ate it, and was half thebthickness of the other place, but the cream was loose, too sweet and didn't have enough ricotta. This food tour featured seven different restaurants, and Caffe Palermo was one of the locations we tried in Little Italy. At Caffe Palermo, we got to try some miniature cannolis. Normally, I'm not someone who orders cannolis, as they're not my go to dessert. However, these cannolis were surprisingly delicious and changed my usual perception. My fiancé also had her first ever cannoli here and truly enjoyed it. While I'm not sure if I would go out of my way just to return for the cannolis, I would definitely come back to Caffe Palermo to try their other desserts. Wow! Speechless after our visit to Caffe Palermo! I'm not sure where to begin. We stepped inside because my son wanted to treat my mother and I to gelato for Mother's Day weekend. We grabbed the only open table and lost ourselves in the performance of the gentleman singing. We heard the crowd and turned to see Baby John, the Cannoli King himself, walking thru the crowd. I would have no point of comparison with any others but the crust was very rich in flavor and crispy, however the filling didn't taste like pistachio which was the flavor I ordered.
