After another lunch break of checking out me close-by food spots, I had an Iced Chai Tea urge. One turn and I saw the cool artsy sign. Cool. Come inside and the inside feels warm and modern. Nice bold colors, decor, and that upper counter is sweet! It's a thick subtle teal colored glass counter. My chai was smooth and yummy, and my toasted ham n' cheese croissant was good. We stopped in here for a quick breakfast and coffee due to proximity to our hotel, but quickly fell in love! We have tried many cafes and roasters in Seattle, but this is by far our favorite. The couple that owns this cafe are incredibly sweet and resilient. They lost their other store due to COVID and are currently working alone to maintain their business. They roast their own beans and their coffees really reflect that. The blend they they use is very smooth and they have a wide array of syrups, in case plain coffee isn't your thing. They also have really interesting (and delicious) pastries. Highly recommend the dill and gruyere scone. Long story short, you should come here and you won't be disappointed. read more

Stopped into this little coffee shop on my way to work this last week. Since I was in Seattle I figured I should avoid the usual giants (Starbucks...) and find something a little more local. Place gets pretty busy in the morning, which I consider an indicator of quality in a big market. My latte was prepared well and in a timely fashion. I also grabbed a turkey & cheese croissant for breakfast which was pretty tasty. Given the good experience and the close proximity to the office I would certainly stop in again. read more

Perfect way to start the day. This little cafe is right along the way to where I work. Being out of state, and a first timer in Seattle, the workers were sweet in helping me decide what to try. I'm more of a tea person than coffee, and go for the occasional mocha, and so that's what I ordered. Perfect balance of flavor, not overly sweet or strong like most chain restaurants topped with whipped with milk. Excellent presentation for cup of coffee, I started my day with a heart. The chocolate croissant is tasty as while, light, fluffy and flaky no excess oil seeping from the flakes. I'm ready for work today. read more

Always a good experience for me. I asked the server for a mocha and she asked if I wanted it unsweetened. I'd never been asked that before so it surprised me. She explained that they have sweetened and unsweetened chocolate. Since I'm borderline diabetic, the option was more than welcome. read more

A most welcome excellence in lattes! I judge a coffee shop by the quality of their lattes (and I'm pretty picky about the quality of them). Migliore makes a consistently great latte with excellent flavor and milk texture. They also have good pastries and lovely small quiches. There's a couple of outdoor tables too. They can be quite busy in the mornings, but the staff keeps things moving so you don't have to wait long. They are only open on weekdays, so don't get your hopes up on the weekend. read more

My absolute favorite coffee spot!!! I'm so sad I don't work downtown anymore because I used to go here every morning (and sometimes again in the afternoon) for my daily shakerato! It's not on the menu but they knew exactly what it was and how to make it perfectly! By my 3rd visit, they already knew my drink and would be making it before I even paid - that's a level of customer service you just don't see. Before here, I went to the Starbucks on 3rd and Madison everyday for iced doppio and they never remembered me or my drink (who else orders extra ice in their drink in the middle of winter??). Another thing I love about this place is how efficient they are with only 2-3 employees at a time. Even when the line overflows into the adjacent lobby, I've never had to wait very long. They are fast, fast, fast. Also, try their delicious cookies (I think they get them from a local bakery)! The cornflake and marshmallow cookie is heavenly!! read more

A group of us come down here every afternoon to take an afternoon coffee break. The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is friendly, and the coffee is usually very good. I usually get straight espresso, which highlights any imperfections in any pull, and while I get the occasional unsatisfactory pull, most of the pulls are good and a few are even exceptional. This is also a great place to sit down for individualized meetings over coffee. read more

In the Financial Center on 4th Avenue, this is by far the best place to get a cuppa in the morning. The staff are fantastic. The pastries and croissants maybe a little too tempting. I thought my latte was medicore and most importantly- lukewarm. I can't stand a cool cup of caffeine, especially for the price. They did not have any veggie or savory options for food, which I am somewhat used to when it comes to the no-meat thing, but it just added a little bit more of a "C'mon, man!" to my thoughts about this place and so I resigned myself to having a somewhat stale croissant. This coffee shop caters to the non starbucks crowd-- mostly business people (its in a bankerish building), but for those of us who appreciate good coffee, a more unique than starbucks atmosphere, a convenient location, people who listen to what you want to drink the way YOU order it (no more of the "double tall non fat, etc" or you are out of compliance speak), and really good turkey and swiss croissants, scones and chocolate. The only reason it is getting a 4 instead of a 5 is because the last time I was there one of the baristas was a little snappy. We all have our moments I guess. read more

I think this place is great, from the one time I visited. I had a latte & the most delicious chocolate macaroon of my life, and I'm not even a coconut person. Something just touched me inside when I laid eyes on that thing, and I'm so glad I got it. Also got a cool travel mug that is my fave because the coffee drizzles out so perfectly - nicely designed. I used to work in this building some years ago when this was a Torrefazione Italia, and next door was the University Bookstore instead of a frighteningly dreary looking restaurant. The coffee back then was nice and strong, about the best I've ever had. It was pricey, but worth it. Since Starbucks has swallowed up and "disappeared" that once proud coffee house, I am happy to find that Caffe Migliore serves up strong Italian espresso. They also make very tasty panini. It's a classy joint and they have a big flatscreen that is often showing soccer. It has great people watching sight-lines, and the decor is warm and comfortable. This place is in my building so it would be really nice to go there all the time, but in the morning, they're just too rude. They rarely smile and when I sign the receipt for my drink I get the "you-better-give-me-a-tip" stare down. It's awkward. I like what they have going here. They brew tasty coffee and their espresso drinks are high quality. Good assortment of sweet and savory treats in the baked goods case. I'm pretty partial to the dill and gruyere scone...maybe a little too partial to it! The atmosphere is nice. Very high ceilings and it feels bright inside...they seem to be going for a European cafe type vibe given some of the decor. Seems like a good spot to sit and get some work or studying in, but they do seem to cater more to the 9 to 5 crowd given the hours. Each drink is presented to you sans lid on a saucer with a spoon so that you can customize accordingly before hitting the road. It's a bit of a classy touch that distinguishes this place from other grab n go type spots downtown. read more

This is where you should go to get coffee when you are in the area. Especially if you are really into coffee, not the froo froo drinks people call coffee. Love this place. It is a great space, and a nice break from the craziness of downtown. My double espresso was perfection. Also, I must say, it is not helpful for a reviewer to comment too much on whether the place is "too business like". Small business people take what space they can find at a price that they can afford in the commercial world. This coffee shop chose a great location, the building happens to be in a business building. Who cares? I only trust people who rate the actual coffee. This is now my favorite coffee shop downtown. I can't speak for lattes, mochas or any of that other stuff people disguise as coffee, but their real coffee is great! Not sure how this got such great reviews. Perhaps I was there on an off day. The place has no ambiance. Very much a part of the office building it is in...cold...officey. The clientele clearly are those working in the offices above...seems to be lawyers and bankers. Makes Starbucks feel warm and inviting. This alone almost kept me out, but based on Yelp I decided to give it a try. The cappuccino's milk tasted a bit sour...the froth was on the bubbly side versus creamy. The sandwiches did look very good in the case, but I was not here for lunch. read more

My go-to place for (work!) coffee downtown. Pros: They've gotten me addicted to their quiches. The coffee is generally smooth and I've been very happy with their lattes and mochas (unsweetened for me, thanks). The staff seem friendly enough and they remember my orders enough that they get confused when I order something else. (I'm okay with that.) Interesting selection of food options. If you're going to the Starbucks a block away (which block? any of them!) you're missing out. Cons: It's in an office building, it's got a lot of corporate clientele, it's not really a place to hang out in unless you're having a Power Coffee Break (and some obviously do there). Lines can get backed up a bit in the early morning if the baristas are a little behind. The food options can get a bit barren in the mid-to-late-afternoon. Some days I wish it was open a little after 5 so I could grab something on the way out, but I know that's not likely to happen. read more

Visited Seattle and decided I didn't want to do the usual chains for my morning caffeine fix. Heard about Migliore on Yelp and thought I'd check it out. Couldn't have been happier I found it! THE best latte I've ever had. My girlfriend was ecstatic about her black coffee (the large size is like a cereal bowl with a handle) and we both enjoyed the panini-grilled breakfast sandwich.
