I had a wonderful experience here. I wanted to try local, small business for coffee rather than going to a chain. I initially looked at Google and Yelp reviews for coffee shops close to where I was staying and noticed that this one had mixed reviews, but because it was so close and convenient, I decided to try it regardless. I can honestly say I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews in particular because my experience couldn't have been better. There was only one barista working and she was incredibly efficient at making drinks, not to mention kind and friendly. My latte was great as well. I also thought their prices were more reasonable than other coffee shops. During my online search for local coffee shops, I took a gander at some menu prices out of curiosity and was absolutely shocked by some of them. Without naming names, there's a highly rated coffee shop near Pike Place Market that has $12 (!!!) lattes, and as much as I love coffee, paying $12 for a single latte is a bridge too far for me. read more

On the positive side the barista was super sweet and the chocolate scone was good. There was a very small selection of baked goods. The worst thing was, unfortunately, the coffee. I got a decaf vanilla latte and it did not taste like coffee or vanilla at all. It had a very strange and weak flavor. I asked about it and the barista said their decaf is a different type of brew. I had to throw it out. read more

I stopped by this shop a few weeks ago on the 15th to get a coffee, definitely a delicious drink! Although I had seen reviews about the staff being wonderful and friendly but when i had gone i was met with awkward silence and not one smile, I felt as if i was bothering the barista by ordering. The building itself was cute, but I had hoped for the "friendly" staff everyone had claimed to see! read more

Urban Coffee House surprised us. Near the Westlake Orca Station, it was one of the few coffee shops open before 7:30 a.m. on a Tuesday. The inside isn't impressive (it's not well designed), but don't overlook it. My wife and I loved our latte. They were strong, creamy, and perfect to start the day. In town for a business trip. I usually try to find a local coffee place to go to, to start my day. Place was not too crowded. Coffee was good. Had a basic drip coffee with a shot of espresso. Barista did not look friendly and did not smile. She was very direct and to the point. Maybe an off day? Well, we found another spot to go to during the rest of our trip. Can't recommend or condemn this place. read more

I wanted to like Urban Coffee House more than I had, but found my drink to be A-OK. I ordered a beet latte, as I saw a sign for it and was interested in trying something different. I mean, I'm a fan of beets, so why not try it in a drink form? We visited in the late afternoon, so had the whole coffee house to ourselves, which was nice, since space is on the smaller side. There's mostly bar seating by the window. Located around Westlake, the location can't be beat, as it's accessible and easy to get to, with plenty of public transit around. The beet latte however, was unfortunately, bland. I assumed I would taste some beet flavor, but did not at all. I know it was there though, since my latte was pink from the beet powder. Just was stumped as to why I couldn't taste it. I do like though that they have milk alternatives, like oat milk and kombucha on tap. The employee who helped us was also super friendly and personable. I'd give this place another try, especially since they offer a Yelp check-in offer of 20% off any drink and I'm around the area a lot. Therefore, hope to have better luck next time. read more

What a great little place! My coworkers and I stumbled upon this coffee shop and thought their "beet latte" ad looked intriguing, so why not go in and give it a try? Super laid back vibe, simple decor with bar seating across the window. This is definitely a grab & go type of coffee shop, though we did see someone working on their laptop, so there's that. I ordered the 12 oz. cappuccino with nonfat milk instead of my usual soy, and my friend got the beet latte with nonfat milk. The barista, Nathan, was super friendly and accommodated our requests for latte art and answered our questions knowledgeably as well. He even brought us cups of ice to transfer our drinks into it (after we took pretty photos of the hot cups, I know!), which was super thoughtful. The latte was pretty standard, so no complaints there. But it also didn't "wow" me. I tried a sip of my friend's beet latte and it was fine, the flavor is a bit plain though. read more

This place is located very close to where I live and I head here when I am wanting a coffee that isn't homemade. It's a bit expensive but the coffee is organic, delicious and the service is friendly as well. Although they've slowly but surely been adding more breakfast and food items to their menu, I still wish there were more fresh food options here. With the Starbucks on 4th closed, surprisingly in the close proximity there aren't a lot of places to get grab-and-go food, especially breakfast other than Dahlia Bakery. read more

Nice little coffee shop about a block away from Westlake Center! We stopped by here this past weekend for some coffee while we were waiting for a spot at Lola (a nearby restaurant for brunch). The baristas were super helpful and friendly, explaining the different types of coffee drinks to us -- I had no idea there was such a thing as a wet or dry cappuccino! I ordered a wet cappuccino (a.k.a. less foam, more milk) with oat milk. I appreciated they had various non-dairy milk options, as some coffee shops still don't provide that. The cappuccino was delicious and a perfect pick-me-up. Highly recommend! read more

This coffee shop is so amazing!!! I was in Seattle for the weekend and needed some coffee for walking around downtown. Stopped in this cute, urban coffee shop that is also a yoga studio. The barista was incredible. He was so friendly, personal and made the morning so fun. Now to the coffee... 10/10. It was unique and so much better than stopping at like a Starbucks. It's exactly what we were looking for! We are a range including americanos, lattes and black coffee. They also had food options like burritos or yogurt cups. The barista was very nice and welcoming. Otherwise it wasn't a good experience. Ordered a medium latte with hazelnut syrup. I swear all I got was hot milk. Figured it was in my head (coffee snob thoughts), but my sister said the same thing about her drink. It had a small amount of coffee in comparison to all the milk, think if I got a small or even a double shot it would've been better ( maybe). Couldn't even taste the hazelnut flavoring at all. Sorry but no. Cute basic shop with a friendly staff. Baaaad coffee. read more

I think there are much better coffee shops close by. This one is located in the lobby of a yoga studio and seems to be there more out of convience than having good coffee or service. It's definitely a grab and go place - don't expect a good spot to sit down and enjoy your drink. While it wasn't a bad coffee, it seemed a bit stale and underwhelming. read more

Sometimes I wish I could just snap my fingers and have a drink one of the baristas made up called "The Path" which is made up of mostly matcha, lavender, blueberry and coconut milk. It was surprisingly good. Very good. I was skeptical because Matcha can be a little difficult at times depending on the maker. The barista so was so friendly and energetic. He made each drink with a pleasant smile on his face. The place itself sits on a corner. It's not very big. We were actually walking down the street and I said "the next coffee shop we find is our spot for the morning" and poof we walked into Urban Coffee House. It was the perfect drink I needed to walk an entire 8 miles around the city of Seattle! read more

Cute little spot. The first place we spent money in Seattle (other than the Red Line). They are super cool and flexible here and seem willing to make you any espresso drink you dream up as long as they have the ingredients. I was craving a latte, but none of those listed sounded just right, so I asked if I could have a nonfat peppermint latte. The friendly, engaging barista said yes and had it ready for me shortly after. The space is eclectic and even has paper, coloring books and markers, and I am pretty sure it's for adults. Nice! Not a huge fan, I got a mocha with almond milk and the flavor was that of almond milk and nothing else. Also, a $1 upcharge for alternative milk is quite steep, especially when the quality of the coffee is this average. I'd walk a few blocks over to Armistice or even Starbucks to be honest, not worth $8 for a 12oz. read more

I've been on a coffee exploration binge lately, straying away from my normal Starbucks. It was early afternoon and my motivation at work was severely declining thus making coffee a must! I decided to order from here via Ritual and will definitely be back. I ordered an Iced Coconut Milk Vanilla Latte and it was delicious! Sweet, creamy, coffeey. The barista was so friendly, had the coffee ready to go just as I arrived (I am a busy body and love online ordering). Good coffee, as one should expect in Seattle. Happy they had almond milk on hand, as one would also expect in a laid-back, hipster town. Server/ barista could have been friendlier, considering I was the only person in there, and I was full of smiles as I just landed and was ready to begin inducing the caffeine coma. I love the location, and the genuinely urban view you get when working here - with huge open windows overlooking a busy street. However, the espresso drinks here were not my style. Got a mocha here which was extremely hot, and with the faintest of chocolate flavor. The latte art was respectable, but nothing super fancy - unlike their chalk art which is incredibly skilled. I noticed that they now pour drinks from a pre-made plastic jug instead of making them fresh like when the store first opened. I usually don't get sick from drinking coffee but twice in a row is pretty bad. Their drinks are also overly sweet and most of them do not have a 0% sweet option, which is usually what I order from other coffee and tea shops, and it's probably because most of the ingredients are pre-mixed. They also use thick plastic cups, considering that Seattle is a pretty green city and a lot of similar Vietnamese coffee shops use sustainable cups. Sad to say, but my time visiting this chain has come to an end.

Discovered this spot on my walk to work last week and it will definitely be part of my morning routine. I always appreciate minimalist coffee shops that really focus on the quality of their product and you guys seem to have it down - and because the space is small, I really appreciate how "no fuss" it is in there. I'm not waiting in line 10 minutes for a coffee and that's what I look for in a shop. Alessandro really took care to make my almond milk latte perfect (most places burn the milk) and was very charming and polite! read more
