Do not eat here they have overcharged my credit card and now I have to dispute this with the bank. Also the food was not good, the bruschetta had very little flavor and the truffle fries were lousy. This place clearly has very untrustworthy practices and everyone who has eaten should be sure to take a picture of their receipts. read more

Since our friends were already on Montague St., hubs felt Caffe Buon would be a good fit. The outside looks cozy at night with white string lights. There's a single window table, sizable bar, a larger picnic-looking table (where we sat) and more seating towards the back. We chitchatted with our friends for a bit before diving in with appetizers. Settled on greasy, non-tentacles order of Fried Calamari and an Arugula Salad with cukes, Kalamata olives, tomatoes. Normally, it goes without saying- but whether it's a party of 4 or 6- a good alert server might do you a solid and hook you up with a bit more of whatever your appetizer is. Not here. Even though we 'shared' the salad, it was small. Service was lopsided: when we placed our app and dinner orders with our server, the manager(?) would ask seconds later if we wanted to place our orders...what the hell is going on??? Not to mention the fact that when apps, bread, etc were brought, our server and busgirl- would reach from my right all the way to my left to give my husband his dishes. Why can't you just go around to HIS left??? My Orecchiette with Shrimp and veggies was good and our friend's dish seemed fine, but his girlfriend questioned the "lobster" in her pasta dish. I would too. And my husband complained about his chicken tenders, portobello cream glob mess. At this point, I thought I was having a nightmare. Pro: Nice service Cons: -Go back and learn a thing or two or 3 about what it takes to be a good server. -Don't rush to the table and pick up our check- or anybody's for that matter. For God sakes why can't you wait until people leave??? Are you in that much need??? -Mojito Mocktail was 1/2 glass full of ice. Really??? -Apple pie dessert is a no-brainer and should be served warm....not cold. And by the way....that red food coloring raspberry or strawberry or cherry "drizzle" crap you use in your cheesecake, makes the dessert unappetizing. -Re-do your bread in that basket: cold, doughy "pizza" squares??? In a city with tons of excellent Italian restaurants, Caffe Buon Gusto may not stand out entirely, but it'll do the trick. There's a reason they've stuck around to open other locations. For some reason we've never stopped in, but recently we were looking for a place to dine al fresco at lunchtime, and their tables were inviting and well-situated for parking a stroller alongside. We sat in the sunshine, and watched Montague Street stroll by. The service was excellent, both friendly and accommodating. I opted for the pappardelle with mushrooms and sausage; it was a touch steeper than you might want for pasta at lunch, but it was a hearty portion and the flavors were better than decent. Along with a nice salad and their winner of a bread basket, it was a meal for two of us, and a good one. read more

My group and I came around 11:00 AM, and we were pretty lucky because most restaurants in the area don't open until 12 noon, so we decided to check this place out! We received pretty good customer service, so I was happy about that. I ordered the seafood linguini, which was good, but a tad bit on the salty side. The fried calamari had a rubbery taste, so it was hard to enjoy, but the sauce was delicious! I even dipped some of the complimentary focaccia bread in it. I was surprised to find that the brunch plates seemed pretty empty. My two friends ordered the eggs Benedict, and the portion sizes were pretty small. This was a tad disappointing. read more

This small Italian restaurant on the Upper East Side gets great reviews so my girlfriend and I were excited to check it out. Sadly we were underwhelmed by the food, though the location is cozy and romantic and the waitstaff was perfectly pleasant. The prices are also quite affordable. The pasta dishes come in huge portions and are very heavy, but the flavors fall short. The flavors were fine but nothing ground breaking or exciting. For the amount of great Italian food to be found in the city, Caffe Buon Gusto falls into the category of an instagram trap as it is over hyped for the food that is actually served. It was such a strong claim that I had to see for myself. Y'all...that was some of the best sauce I have ever had. For $14, I was able to choose from a list of pasta noodles and sauces. The portions were extremely generous and it was packed with flavor. If I was on death row and had to pick my last meal, I would ask for this sauce!! Now let's move onto the service--I really wish I had this server's name. He was absolutely incredible! I could tell that he really enjoys working there. Another delivery success! I live pretty close to Cafe Buon Gusto and I order was delivered in less than 20 mins!! I ordered Alla Vodka Linguine since this sauce is the most popular at this Cafe. I've seen at all over Instagram for a while but never realized they just opened another branch in Brooklyn! Yay!! The pasta lives up to the hype! It was the creamiest, most flavorful pasta I've ever had!!!! The portion was generous too that I'll be able to save some for tomorrow! The complimentary focaccia bread was also excellent. It was herbed with rosemary and olive so was good on its own tbh. But because I love the vodka sauce so much that I just dipped it in the sauce!! It was divine!!! Decent little Italian place on Montague. We had a group of 6 and they accommodated us without any issues. My husband and I enjoyed everything we ordered. We started with the grilled octopus appetizer, which was my favorite dish of the evening. For our entrees he had the sausage and broccoli rabe Orechiette and I had the linguini and white clam sauce. He felt his dish needed more garlic. I think mine could have used more clams. My husband wanted dessert and ordered the apple tart, but they didn't have any left. There were a few things that were unavailable, but he was able to get the poached pear in Port. I had a cappuccino. Service was very good.
