This is a small facility that could only seat 14 people outside on a cool morning. Service was very slow as it took over 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee. When the coffee arrived, it was barely warm. Longer wait to order food. Ordered the French Toast with cream cheese and fruit. When it was finally served, it was not hot, the fruit was merely strawberry jelly and the cream cheese was actually cream cheese. Not a very good meal and not a recommended facility. read more

Located right in Boiling Springs is this yummy Mexican restaurant. The 101 part reminded us of our west coast home. And Mexican food home away from!?! Why not! I like this establishment as it was family friendly and pretty busy. That's a good sign everyone is eating and happily chatting away with one another. It has patio and indoor dining. We opted for dine in. I got the taco salad and it was pretty good. I got the avocado dressing and that was great. I do wish it would have been in a fried flour tortilla instead though. I ended up not eating the fried corn shells. My specialty coffee was goo too. Our server was very nice and most of the workers had smiles on except for one woman. She looked kinda miserable. The inside has a fun mural of what this little town looked like way back when. That was cool to see. The decor and dining room could be updated and a bit more uniform in aesthetics. I sat on the bench and it wasn't as cushioned as I thought it would be. *They also should do something about their main door being used as a service door as well. Every time a waiter had to bring food to the front patio they had to use this one door and it slammed back each and every time they went in and out of it. That was annoying to me and I feel that it's an accident of a food flipping over or a server claiming workers comp due to it not really being conducive to safety. It's a hazard waiting to happen if it hasn't already been. Everyone liked the food that we got and for that if I'm in the area again. I wouldn't mind having their food and dining here once again. read more

My husband and I met at Caffe 101 for lunch (1:15pm). It took almost 20 to get menus and another 10 to get waters (they were out of iced tea). After 50 minutes we were STILL WAITING for our salad & sandwich. I had to leave to go back to work. My husband FINALLY got his salad at 2:23p. It took another 15 minutes for my sandwich to be packaged to go so he could bring it to my office. No apology, nothing comped, NOT RETURNING. Such a disappointment! read more

We visited the beautiful Boiling Springs Park today. Cafe 101 is located right across the road from the park. We gave it a try and was completely satisfied with the cleanliness and the food. We enjoyed beef taco salad and could not eat it all. We will enjoy the leftovers for supper this evening. read more

I'm sitting in this restaurant right now and it's actually what prompted me to download the yelp app and write a review. I came for lunch and was greeted my two employees before I was able to locate the menu board. I had the chicken swiss and bacon sandwich which was delicious and with drink barely broke ten dollars. The decor is very nice with hardwood floors and different varieties of tables and other seating, but the huge plus for me beyond the good food was the outdoor seating on the patio overlooking the beautiful lake across the street. Stopped in this morning for breakfast for foundry day. Had the huevos rancheros. Great little cafe by the lake in boiling springs. Walk across the street the the little gas station and buy a bag of corn to feed the ducks. Great little town and a cute cafe for good food and coffee. Nice outdoor seating area. read more

The new 2018 expanded Mexican cuisine menu is fantastic! I have been working my way thru the menu and my favorite is the Vegetarian Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms!! I cannot stop ordering this off of their "Specials" menu. If you are a fan of some additional heat, ask for their house-made Salsa Verde. It is creamy, flavorful, and sings songs to my taste buds. There is never any left at the end of my meal. Dinner hours, outdoor seating and BYOB... my new favorite. read more

Food is bad and prices are outrageous. Stopped going there after I was mistreated by the staff. This place has potential. I had a burrito and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I'm from San Diego and when I travel I rarely find Mexican food that remotely compares to ours at home. My husband and I stopped by for lunch. I ordered a Southwest Salad, and my husband ordered the Rachel. When the food arrived, my husband was very happy with his sandwich, it was stuffed with with turkey and it was great. Me on the otherhand, I was highly disappointed. My salad was $15.99, which was super pricey for what I got. My fault, I didn't see that the protein was extra, $4.00 for a chicken, which would have brought my salad up to almost $20.00. What I received for my $15.99, a cup and a half of lettuce, about 2 tablespoons of warmed-up corn and about that of black beans, and maybe 2 tablespoons of diced tomatos and to top it off 5 corn chips. I did receive dressing, sour cream and salsa on the side, which would have more than drowned my salad if I used it all. I thought the $3.95 iced tea was pricey. The waitress seemed very disinterested in being there, and had to come back and ask me did you want the salad or wrap? We were never asked about refills on our drinks and had to ask for straws, napkins and silverware. Will I go back, maybe, but I have learned NOT to order the salad that would have been overpriced at $2.00. The ambiance wasn't bad, we ate inside, it was busy, but still quiet. read more

We began coming here six months ago as the pandemic began to ease. Their food is always delicious but as things have loosened up and they have more and more clientele, the service is declining a bit in that it is taking longer to be acknowledged and seated and food arrival is slower - but worth the wait. My primary recommendation would be to have a staff member dedicated to greeting and seating customers. It seems a bit chaotic whenever we arrive and the staff are focused on serving versus seating. The coffee was very good and it was serve yourself at the coffee bar. I had the Mexican skillet which was amazing AND I could only finish half. Caffe 101 has gone downhill fast. Originally they opened at 6 a.m., a great time for all the school district employees and early risers to stop in. Then they changed to 7 a.m.. Unfortunately, the place seldom opens at 7 but whenever someone gets there to open it! Sometimes the cashier will be there but no cook so you can't get any food. I don't mind the Mexican food but the prices are way too high for what they offer. Also the staff is no longer as friendly, light bulbs don't get replaced, tables are often dirty and they charge extra for items (like special hot sauce). The scones are only half their former size and the quality of ingredients in the breakfast sandwiches has declined. It's the only game in town for breakfast but, sadly, no longer the sweet little place by the lake. read more

Ugh. The food wasn't as good as reviewed. Tacos al Pastor was very sub par and not worth the price. It came with a side salad which looked quite good. However, it came with avocado dressing which also looked good. Once the dressing was on the salad I tasted it. It resembles avocado dressing in color and consistency only. It was the hottest, jalapeño laced avocado dressing I've ever had. I couldn't eat any of it nor could I finish my 3rd taco due to the dressing being on it. When I shared this with the server, she laughed heartily and said I must not be used to spicy food. No apology, no can I bring you something else, no can I adjust your bill. This is a great little cafe. I've stopped in here a few times to get some work done and grab a quick bite or coffee. If you've got your laptop there are actually a good number of tables that have access to an outlet. Also, the wifi has some of the fastest speeds I've tested in the area. On nice days there are several tables outside overlooking the lake. I've only ordered food a couple times but it's always been good. They certainly use quality ingredients but $8-9 seems a bit on the steep side for what amounts to pretty basic sandwiches. The coffees are good though and they actually make proper macchiatos unlike some shops. All in all, it's a good place to get a snack in a really nice location and while it can get busy it is usually a quiet place to get a little work done. read more

Excellent for weekend breakfast or lunch. PERFECT foam on the latte. I go about 4-5 times a month; the food has been consistently good & employees friendly. The decor is crisp & clean looking. They have a new photo mural of the town back in the horse and buggy days, it's quaint to see how much it all looks the same.
