Chicken taco and mushroom taco, both had good flavor a d made fresh

California style street tacos with vegetarian/vegan and weekly specials also available. Tried the yucca fries, chicken taco, and mushroom taco. Food was made fresh and had excellent flavor. The chipotle sauce for the mushroom taco was divine!

Went here yesterday and was a bit anxious due to all the 1 star reviews this place has been getting, turns out those were just a bunch of people from southern California or people who got lost on their way to a fancy dinner at taco bell. As a Carlisle resident I can say I was very pleased with the freshness of the food, the staff as super friendly and helpful and they had this drink made from hibiscus that was delicious! (It tastes like cranberry which I can't have so it was an interesting substitute) Ok for the haters. Yes, the tacos are small. They are supposed to be that's how Spanish and Mexican meals are prepared (with the exception of paella) that's huge usually. But they are small so you can try many kinds. Once more you will not be getting 10 of the same taco crunchy or soft - these are real. Plus you can get empanadas. Down side? Their extra hot salsa made in house isn't particularly spicy, but it is good.

Fried cheese with a spicy guava sauce

Honestly, best fried cheese and sauce i have ever tasted! The owners there are super kind and the food is always great at a affordable price!

    Great tacos and horchata

I go here every so often when I'm taking a walk through town. The food is always tasty and fresh. The restaurant is small and cozy with seating at the back window which is nice for people watching. I recommend going with the tacos; they're my favorite item and are filling.

    "Carne asada" I guess....

The only thing authentic about the Taqueria Laurita is the portion size. As a So Cal native and veteran of more taquerias than I can count, this place doesn't earn the name. The good: fresh soft corn tortillas The rest: the salsa was almost a great start until I realized it's no different than the Tomatillo at Moe's. What place can call itself a taqueria without carne asada tacos being a staple? This is the main dish at most taquerias. Taquerias shouldn't have tacos that cost $2.50, when it's the size of your palm, The flavor was severely lacking. Cilantro and onion should pop when mixed with the corn tortilla and meat choice, the only flavor saver was the regular salsa they serve. Overall, the biggest waste of money in town for a meal. If you aren't a taqueria regular like I am maybe you will like it, if you are you need to go to Harrisburg. Tres Hermanos has the best AUTHENTIC MEXICAN food in the area. For what you spend at Taqueria Laurita you can get gas money and a great meal up there. Very disappointed overall, If you couldn't tell.

Picture it: Friday. 4:45pm. Snow falling. 28 degrees. And me? Standing in a taco shack parking lot…read moredreaming of warmer days when I'm sitting at one of their picnic tables pretending I'm on vacation instead of actively battling Central PA winter. Because when the craving for real tacos hits, logic and weather forecasts no longer matter. First things first -- parking is easy. Big stoned lot right at the shack. Love that for me. Second thing -- and this is important -- Little Mexico Tacos is CASH ONLY. I learned this at the counter, which triggered an immediate wallet excavation worthy of an archaeological dig. My goal: secure enough funds for a chorizo burrito and street corn in a cup. I found a $20 bill and decided to live dangerously. Plot twist #1: they were out of rice. Brief emotional damage. Apparently rice is a key player in many menu items, but I pivoted like a seasoned professional because when tacos call, you answer. Plot twist #2: my total came to $20.14. FOURTEEN CENTS OVER. I braced myself for the walk of shame, but the guy at the counter waved it off like the legend he is. Sir, if you're reading this, I hope your pillow is always cool and your tacos are always perfect. Also elite-level move: at freezing temperatures, he told me to wait in my car and he'd holler when my food was ready. That's customer service with survival instincts. Let's set expectations: there is no inside here. None. Zero. This is an open-air taco shack. If the weather isn't nice, you're eating elsewhere... or embracing your inner feral raccoon and demolishing tacos in your car. Now for the important part -- THE FOOD. Street Corn (mild -- because I specifically requested "no spicy chaos"): Creamy. Tangy. Fully sauced. Not bland, not overpowering -- just perfectly balanced. Also served in a cup instead of on the cob, which means maximum efficiency and zero mess - WINNING! Chorizo Burrito: Absolute unit. Packed with just-the-right-level-of-spice chorizo, huge portion size, and -- surprise MVP moment -- the tortilla was lightly crisped instead of being a sad floppy wrap straight out of a bag. Half of this thing could feed a small village. I finished every bite of the meat like it was my job. Bonus green sauce situation included (avocado? wizardry?) that I fully expected to melt my face off -- but instead it was mellow and delicious and paired perfectly with the chorizo. Final verdict: Little Mexico Tacos is the real deal. No-frills setup, big flavors, generous portions, kind humans, and the exact kind of taco shack energy that makes you feel like you've unlocked a local secret. I will absolutely be back when the weather warms up so I can sit outside like a civilized human instead of a burrito-powered winter gremlin.

There was a small kitchen error with my meal, but the waitress was awesome and they fixed it in no time. I got a chimichanga and my daughter got tortas. Everything was so good. Also, get the churros. Right after us, people poured in and the place filled up quickly, so clearly it's doing something right. We ordered a shrimp cocktail ($12) to start, one chorizo taco ($4), one shrimp taco ($4), rice and beans ($6), and an order of chilaquiles with beef, chicken, and a fried egg ($14). We also grabbed a Diet Pepsi ($3) and a mandarin Jarritos ($4). Somewhere along the way we ended up with two chorizo tacos and two shrimp tacos (and were charged for them), but we rolled with it and turned them into decent leftovers. The shrimp cocktail was huge -- served in what I can only describe as a glass milkshake cup. The shrimp themselves were good-sized, but it was mostly red sauce, so the dramatic presentation felt a little unnecessary. The shrimp taco was the standout -- really tasty and well-balanced. The chorizo taco was good flavor-wise but on the dry side and could have used some kind of sauce to help it along. Adventure Buddy was very happy with the chilaquiles, which came loaded with beef, chicken, and a fried egg. He demolished most of it, leaving zero leftovers and no regrets. The staff were friendly and kind and did their best to stay attentive as the restaurant got busier. All-in, after tip, we spent around $70 for a Friday night date night. That felt a little high for what we ordered, but the extra tacos did give us leftovers, so that helped soften the blow. Bottom line: this is a solid Mexican restaurant. Would I go out of my way to eat here? No. If I was in the area and craving Mexican food, would I come back? Sure. Nothing to shout from the rooftops about, but also nothing to complain about -- average, fine, and perfectly serviceable. Bonus points for plentiful free parking, since it's located in a strip mall.
