This place has…read morebeen so many different restaurants over my life, but on a recent visit I was glad to see one with many positive reviews had gone in. On a long walk of town on one day of my trip, it worked out that this one was open for lunch and I got to try it. It ended up being a favorite of my visit and I ended up eating here twice. The first time for lunch I stuck to the specials menu and had the chimichanga. It's served with rice and beans, plus fresh veggies and salsas. All salsas and sauces are made homemade and fresh, which is a huge draw of this place. Portion sizes are generous for the price, and flavor was great. Their hot sauces are also homemade: a mild red one and a hot creamy green one. Try both for sure! On the second visit, I had a burrito. I also dined with a friend who was impressed as well. They also have a menu of non-Mexican inspired dishes, so there's something for everyone here. The interior is open and bright, with booths and tables. Both times the server was super friendly and welcoming, very attentive through the visits. Parking is out back.

I ordered by phone for take out the bistro salad and a side of black beans after confirming with the staff that they were vegan. My only small recommendation is for the time estimate to be better. I was told it would only take 10 minutes to prepare. So I ordered my food then drove to the restaurant. Overall it took about 25 minutes for my food to be ready and handed to me. The staff were nice. The environment seemed nice although I didn't eat in. And there was parking in the rear. I am glad Miaa was there for my visit to Palmyra.

One thing that immediately caught my attention was the décor. Our table featured beautiful images representing Mexican heritage, and although I didn't get a chance to take a picture, the chairs also had some very nice carved details that added to the atmosphere. After ordering our drinks, everyone decided on lunch. My wife ordered the Taquitos along with a side of cheese dip, I had the Perfect Portion Taco, and our friends shared the Carnitas Platter. While waiting for our meals, we enjoyed the complimentary warm chips and fresh salsa. The chips were nice and warm, and the salsa had excellent flavor. When our meals arrived, everything looked fresh and appetizing. We all enjoyed our food, and everyone left satisfied with their meal. Overall, we had a very pleasant lunch. The friendly service, welcoming atmosphere, and good food made for an enjoyable experience. Before we even left, we were already saying that the next time we're in town, we'll have to stop back for another meal. If you're looking for a good Mexican restaurant in the area, El Rancho is definitely worth a visit.

I will still remember the time that I was so excited and felt a bliss of the taste of their Birria tacos as well as many of their signature dishes, such as the yucca and chicharron. However, if this were to be true, it's such a shame that a place like this would take so much advantage on people like that, specifically their employees. Fortunately, there are definitely other places that now do birria tacos as well as been noted for bringing authentic Mexican cuisine in the Harrisburg area (some even cheaper and taste better than this place). But until they get their act together, I cannot support a place that does not support other people.

Edgard ( I think I spelled that correctly) is still in the kitchen working his magic! Friends ordered the chicken tacos and shrimp tacos. Served in warm, soft flour tortillas, they are always a hit. DH ordered a smash burger which he said was good, but needed a bit more seasoning. I was I. Heaven with the delish marinated roasted chicken. Someone asked me what it is marinated in; my answer was: it's marinated in deliciousness! True! Served with choices of sides, my chicken came with a salad ( always fresh ) and plantains. So delicious and such a great portion! I remember when the owner talked about expanding and opening another place and I am so happy he is getting rewarded for his hard work. If you haven't been to Rocoto, do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and get there soon!

Ordering: There is a Dr. Pepper drawing on the menu but when I asked for that specific drink, the server let me know they do not serve Dr. Pepper. We chose "1/2 a chicken" as our entree but we were told it's only served on Friday's and Saturday's--we went on a Wednesday. Nothing on the menu said anything regarding that. Was a bit disappointing to get told the two things I wanted from their own menu are not being served. Additionally, weirdly, we had to pay before we got our food right after we ordered so it was not the best when it comes to knowing what type of tip to leave. We ended up buying an extra drink after we ate to leave the waiter a tip. Food: We ended up getting Anticucho de Carne in place of the chicken they don't serve daily. We had Roasted Chicken Empanadas as well as Beef and Cheese, they were delicious--especially the roasted chicken one with peppers and onions. The beef and cheese filling was very mild tasting, most of the flavor came from the outer part. The Lomo saltado was very clean tasting and enjoyable. Lastly, we got fried ice cream with honey which was a 10/10! Ambience: The dining area was super clean. There was no music. The seats are pretty close to each other, initially we were the only ones there but about 5 more parties came in and it was pretty tight but not uncomfortable at all. You get to see the bustling around the kitchen and front serving area, however, there is a wall that semi-separates the sitting area from the pick up counter adjacent to the serving area so you get to skip out on the in and out.
