    Brisket Tacos
    John A.

This is my second try. First try was a little weak. This time was still kinda weak but ok. We had the Brisket Nachos. They had freshly made tortilla chips, nacho cheese, pickled jalapeños, tomatoes, bbq sauce, cilantro, and some weak brisket. I was really hoping that brisket would have some smoke to it or taste like they put some love into it. I was told by someone else that the brisket was different now since I had it last. Nope. It either wasn't or was just still sub-par. :play disappointing wah wah sound: There was no love. It tasted like they got it from a restaurant supply store. If you are going to sport the brisket and talk game, you better back it up. They did not back it up. Was it tasty, yes. I would give the $17.00 Brisket Nachos about a 6.5 out if 10. And I have had a ten. This was not it. The brisket at Edley's Bbq in Nashville is a 10. Look it up. Take some pointers. Maybe have them send you some and you can put them on your nachos. Oh well. It was raining. It was a fundraiser night. It was nacho cheese. We are happy campers. But I am going to give you the most honest point of view. I also can't stand the new "turn the screen with the suggested tip on the 4-square screen" move. They turn it and look to the side like "they are letting you choose." That's a new move a lot are doing. I didn't take that into my star rating. But it have to point it out towards the "customer service." Besides that, service with a smile and lots of thank yous. Will we be return customers? If there are limited choices, maybe.

Amazing tacos. Fast service. Great people! We had them for an event at The Restaurant Store and they were fantastic. So glad to enjoy their food!

I have been hearing about 717 tacos for years but could never go until I found out they are halal. When I found out they were Halal I was so happy I couldn't stop smiling for the remainder of the day. I have never had brisket till I had their brisket nachos and they are spectacular. I can eat quite a bit and those nachos really fill me up. A nice serving of meat, cheese, sauce, chips, jalapenos, onions, etc. When I see truck I cannot not go because they are fantastic and everyone on the truck is so friendly! I can't wait till I see the truck again because now I am craving those nachos!

717 Taco truck came near my office today. My colleagues and I stopped by to pick up lunch. There was no line when we reached there. The guy who took our orders said that a nearby office had called them and they will, from now on, be at the same spot once a month. They mostly have a standard menu, but he said they will run specials sometimes. As we waited for our food to be ready, the tempting aroma wafted out of the truck. And the tacos didn't disappoint. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. The combinations were spot on. Seasoning was good. They don't skimp on the quantity of the filling. They use 6 inch corn tortilla. I ordered 1 each of buffalo chicken and blackened shrimp tacos. The shrimp taco was my favorite. Shrimp was cooked perfectly with perfect spices. Service was fast and friendly.

Oh my word, I can't explain how good these tacos are. I drove 20 minutes in a snowstorm and a global pandemic to get this food and I would do it again. All of their food is good, but those blackened shrimp tacos are OUT OF CONTROL. I don't know how they do it, they have to be magic.

You brought so much happiness to our neighborhood! When this is over, let's make it a regular thing? Nachos for all! These nachos are SO SO SO SO GOOD!!! Thank you so much and stay safe!!!!

They have several options for tacos in their menu. I've now got a chance to try number of them and generally all of them are great tasting, fresh ingredients and very flavorful. Their spice and sauce combination on the tacos is perfect. The Buffalo Chicken tacos are my favorite. Chili chipotle chicken, blackened shrimp and Vegetarian ones are good too. I also love their Nachos - fresh tasting. The quantities are plenty and is like a full meal in itself. Love their Buffalo chicken nachos. Their website tells the places the food truck is at on diff days of the week and their hours. Family owned and their service is also fast and friendly.

Right after us, people poured in and the place filled up quickly, so clearly it's doing something right. We ordered a shrimp cocktail ($12) to start, one chorizo taco ($4), one shrimp taco ($4), rice and beans ($6), and an order of chilaquiles with beef, chicken, and a fried egg ($14). We also grabbed a Diet Pepsi ($3) and a mandarin Jarritos ($4). Somewhere along the way we ended up with two chorizo tacos and two shrimp tacos (and were charged for them), but we rolled with it and turned them into decent leftovers. The shrimp cocktail was huge -- served in what I can only describe as a glass milkshake cup. The shrimp themselves were good-sized, but it was mostly red sauce, so the dramatic presentation felt a little unnecessary. The shrimp taco was the standout -- really tasty and well-balanced. The chorizo taco was good flavor-wise but on the dry side and could have used some kind of sauce to help it along. Adventure Buddy was very happy with the chilaquiles, which came loaded with beef, chicken, and a fried egg. He demolished most of it, leaving zero leftovers and no regrets. The staff were friendly and kind and did their best to stay attentive as the restaurant got busier. All-in, after tip, we spent around $70 for a Friday night date night. That felt a little high for what we ordered, but the extra tacos did give us leftovers, so that helped soften the blow. Bottom line: this is a solid Mexican restaurant. Would I go out of my way to eat here? No. If I was in the area and craving Mexican food, would I come back? Sure. Nothing to shout from the rooftops about, but also nothing to complain about -- average, fine, and perfectly serviceable. Bonus points for plentiful free parking, since it's located in a strip mall.

I was the only diner in the place, which honestly made me feel like I had just rented out a private pizza studio. Bonus: plenty of free parking right out front because it's tucked into a little strip mall. Before I even ordered, the menu caught my attention--an eclectic mashup of pizza and tacos, with breakfast versions of both served all day long. It's honestly the kind of menu you'd expect to stumble upon in a dream where the universe says, "Go ahead, choose joy." I originally planned to be "responsible" and just grab a slice to test the waters, but they didn't have any slices ready and would've had to make an entire pizza just for me. That felt like a sign from the Universe to stop lying to myself. If they were firing up the oven anyway, why not go big? So I took the cosmic hint and ordered their semi-Instagram-famous Mexican Breakfast Pizza: eggs, chorizo, mozzarella, cheddar... a 10" "personal" pizza (their wording, not mine) for $14. Twist my arm. Drinks live in the cooler by the door and you just grab whatever you want and pay at the end. As I was mid-debate between soda and water, the guy behind the counter popped out from behind the curtain and said, "Hey, since you're getting a breakfast pizza, if you want juice... orange, cranberry, apple... you can have it!" Sir. Apple juice is basically the secret key to my heart. SOLD. He also mentioned they have games and coloring books available--apparently dominoes is the crowd favorite here. Unexpected and charming. A little sign on my table caught my eye: "If you love it, leave a nice review." Challenge accepted. This place was already earning every star. Placed my order at 5:02, snagged a seat by the window to watch the sunset fade and the traffic chaos whirl by. The sign on the wall said "GOOD vibes, GREAT flavors," and let me tell you: an accurate mission statement. At 5:20, my pizza emerged in all its glory--and it. was. stunning. The crust hit that sweet middle ground between thin and deep dish: sturdy, doughy, beautifully crisped on the edges, and wonderfully yeasty. The eggs-to-cheese ratio was perfection, and the chorizo? A knockout. Spicy, chunky, far more personality than the usual breakfast-pizza sausage situation. I ate 1.5 slices and boxed up the rest, which will easily feed me for another three days because, yes, I believe in leftovers as a lifestyle. As I was leaving, the man behind the counter introduced himself--Sebastian--and he had been nothing but attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. Service like that sticks with you. Total damage: $22.26 including tip. For great food, even better service, and days of leftovers? That's what I call winning. I'll definitely be back--probably at another totally normal breakfast hour.

The chips come out PIPING HOT and are fresh fried, as they should be, but seems to be rare for Mexican restaurants in the area these days... the salsa is incredibly good. It is a touch spicy with a little sweetness, but we loved the flavor. The first basket is free (also not always the norm around here) and a second basket is only $1.50 more - that's amazing! We also got a queso con chorizo to share and the small size was PLENTY. We both decided on taco platters and that was a great choice - we got to try a bunch of meats that way. The al pastor was amazing, as was the carne asada, carnitas, and shrimp taco. The tacos were topped with an amazing guacamole sauce. I got corn tortilla tacos and they were perfectly griddled and warm. My husband enjoyed his flour tortilla tacos. The rice and beans were fresh and hot and delicious too. Food came out quick and exactly as we ordered, even with some modifications! We didn't love the additional red sauce in the squirt bottle that you can add to your food, but the salsa verde in the squirt bottle was good. I ordered an extra salsa to add to my tacos instead. For drinks, there's agua frescas and an extensive soda selection in a case to choose from. My husband was happy to see Mexican Coke. Service was great! Overall, we had two taco platters, queso, two drinks, plus an extra chips and salsa for less than $40. You can't beat it. We will be back!!

Décor was the typical Mexican, with over-the-top paint colors. The dining area was spacious. The waitress greeted us with big smiles. We sat ourselves by the window. Immediately we were offered a complimentary serving of chips and salsa. The chips were well made and the salsa was tangy and very appetizing. I made my order almost in no time for the Mole Poblano; my wife ordered Pechuga en Crema con Champiñones. The food came out in about 10 minutes; both dishes came with 4-5 tortillas. Now, the long-awaited mole sauce -- thick, dark, and complex. I watched a YouTube video on how it's typically made, so I had a level of respect and appreciation for it. It tasted like the popular five-spice bean curd jerky Asian snack -- bold and strong. I liked it very much. My wife's cream chicken, while moist, was bland in comparison. If you're like me, you'd be a bit confused when the bill came. The amounts were different from what the menu showed. Basically, the figures on the bill were the inflated prices that included surcharges for paying with a credit card. If you pay cash, you pay the menu prices instead.

We ordered two breakfast tacos -- egg, potato, and chorizo -- for $11.66, and they were absolutely worth it. First pleasant surprise: real eggs (you can taste the difference). We wouldn't have minded a little more chorizo, but overall the balance still worked. We also loved the double tortilla, and these tacos were STUFFED -- no skimping here. There were lots of onions and lots of lime crema already on the tacos, which we greatly appreciated. The crema was a clutch move and kept the double-tortilla noms from getting too dry. Good call, Mid St8 Taco. Flavor-wise, they really delivered. Super tasty, filling, and exactly what we wanted on a busy, chilly December morning.
