Finally! Mexico Lindo! After hearing about this from fellow Yelper Steve M. I decided to venture out. The truck itself is located half-way on the curb, half-way in the street. Usually at the intersection of Market & 15th Streets in Harrisburg's Allison Hill section, next to O.D.'s place bar. It is worth noting that the truck may or may *not* be there, usually is there & open on weekends, but in the colder months you will not find it. Your best bet is to go on a saturday or sunday during lunchtime. We arrived 15 minutes before closing time. There was a lady who politely told us the choices. The only things they had left were the beef & pork tacos for 1.50 each. It was pretty tasty, the tortilla wraps were pretty large. They were filled to the brim with onions & cilantro. Sadly, we didnt get to try anything else today. Cash only, on street parking. Taco prices have held stead in the $2.00 range for the past few years. read more

FINALLY!! I had the chance to eat here. With the exception of the creepy guy sitting on the fence outside of the truck (which apparently is affiliated with the building on the street) it was a great experience. I parked the car around the corner, carried the two year old, and ordered three carnitas tacos. In a matter of minutes (for the incredibly awesome price of about $4.25) they were handed to me in a plastic bag. They were perfectly cooked. The meat fell apart and had just the right amount of those succulent, chewy fatty pieces for which carnitas is famous. Each taco had two soft white corn tortillas which was good because the meat and toppings were so juicy a single layer taco would have fallen apart in mere minutes. Each taco had a nice amount of meat (not like the mere implication of meat you get at taco bell). The tacos were topped with a lovely pico de gallo which had a nice kick of cilantro and some zing from the onions. It was super, super fresh. It must have been made that day. I also ordered hot sauce on all of them. My two year old ate the hot sauce so you can rest assured that it isn't too spicy . . . but it did add a nice flavor. Yum-o to quote that Rachel lady. We will absolutely be back! I can't wait! My only complaint is that 15th street has one ways. Head up Market and you can't go wrong. read more

Please move over because I'm jumping on the bandwagon again. I cannot believe I did not rate the Mexico Lindo Taco Truck yet because this was one of the first places I visited based on Steve M's review. Everyone is spot on about the quality of the carnitas ... perfectly spiced, unbelievably fresh and beautifully presented. Actually, I almost thought it was too pretty to eat ... almost being the key word. I am not a general fan of generic Mexican 'fast' food but know that the real deal is really good. So I approached Mexico Lindo skeptically but after eating there once, I will gladly venture into the relative hood to snarf up more carnitas and tamales!!! You can't beat the quality (cilantro = good) and definitely not the price. Wonder if you freeze these goodies?!?!?!?! Because you definitely want to stock up. UPDATE: I just tried the res (beef vs. the pork in carnitas) and wow, so good! It's a toss up for which is my favorite as you can taste the cinnamon in the beef more distinctly. And I have discovered that I definitely like the res and the carnitas way better than the tamales. My next venture will be into lengua, which is beef tongue. I used to love this as a kid until I actually saw what it was sliced off of so I have a bit of childhood trauma to overcome. But will report back. read more

I am from LA, so I have been to a few of these over there. I was craving tacos last week after reading the awesome revies. I decided to take my coworkers here for lunch last Friday. It was my first time there and it was their first time ever to go to a Taco Truck. Almost of them ate the chicken taco only. They loved it and even went back for thirds...O.O. As for me, I ordered 4 tacos, one of each. They had chicken, pork, beef, and tongue. The best ones were chicken and beef. Chicken was really juicy. The tongue was ok, a little bland. The pork however was quite dry. I would suggest getting more sauce for pork. Overall, I would go back to this place. Took off one star because they didn't serve any drinks. If they did, they didn't asked me nor did it show on their menu. read more

Oh man Steve M is right...lol A co-worker turned me on to these and i haven't stopped going there ever since. Occasionally, I'd order for the whole shop. I am from Los Angeles so we out west know what a taco is supposed to taste like. Though it is a unique experience as he does add his own "touch" to the taco. I was a vegetarian before I started on these...i am a bit hooked. They are meaty, heavy, real soft corn tortillas, and salsa. Definitely not Taco Smell. The local Mexican restaurants cant touch him. You should get there before 12-ie lunch time, because the line forms when the weather is nice. Pros: convenient, great value and quality. Cons: neighborhood, just don't be there when it starts to get dark. I can't really say any more because my fellow yelper Steve M, has said what needs to be said. Just try it, you won't be disappointed. BTW, It's between 15th and 16th and Market read more

My favorite is their carnitas...pork tacos with cilantro, onions, jalapenos and salsa rojo. Tacos are only $2 and they are the BEST MEXICAN TACOS IN TOWN! #FoodPorn read more

Mexico Lindo - My fav is their carnitas...pork tacos - Mexican Near Me - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

5 stars no question, these are the best tacos I've ever had! Tried the pork and beef carnitas, I'm not sure which was better but both were amazing. The fresh corn tortillas are just stuffed with meat, onions, cilantro, and spices, these babies are a bargain at $1.25 a piece. Authentic and delicious, Mexico Lindo Taco Truck is a must try! read more

Simple, satisfying, authentic Mexican food from a truck. As a few pointed out, I don't think I'd be comfortable walking here after dark. Then again, they prolly aren't open after dark either. I was hungry for lunch. The truck is parked half on the street and half on the sidewalk. Whatever. The simplest of menus: tacos ($2) and tortas ($5). Beef, pork, chicken and tongue ($2.50). Also sodas and horchada to drink. No line when i got there about 11:45 am on a weekday. I ordered a res (beef) and pollo (chicken, you gringo). Each one was made to order for me and ready in about 5 minutes. The nice mamasita packed them to go with two wedges of lime, some sliced jalepenos and a little cup of red salsa. After exchanging payment, I retreated to the cement curb next to the sidewalk and dug in. All tacos are served on double corn tortillas. Given that they were just prepared, my first bite was scalding hot. I didn't expect them to be this hot, but hey, they just made the damn things. I attribute my own hunger and grumbly tummy to the singed roof of my mouth and not to the truck. Food should be hot when you eat it! The pollo taco was great. The chicken was shredded nicely and very tender and moist, with good flavor. The res taco was even better. It was more like a beef stew in a way...the beef had a kinda cinnamon-y flavor which worked beautifully, especially with a few jalepenos and a dollop of their salsa. My mouth actually burned in a satisfying tingle, entirely because of the spiciness--not the temperature. Both tacos were topped with crunchy diced onions and fresh cilantro. Excellent flavor. I give the place only 4 stars because they were out of the horchada when I ordered. I had to settle for a mediocre $1 can of diet Pepsi to alleviate the heat from the food. Still, two of those tacos, hot and well-prepared, were worth the walk. Just not after dark. read more

The Mexico Lindo aco Truck is great!! Brave Allison Hill and be treated to the best damn tacos in PA. If they wanted to make some money, they would park this truck across the street from the capital or on 2nd St. But for now, I'll brave the hood for some killer tacos! read more

Mexico Lindo - 3 Tacos De Pollo - unbelievable!!! - Mexican Near Me - Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

I took 3 gringos and myself to the Taco Truck for the first time - they didn't quite know what to expect. Each got 2 tacos, combos of carnitas, pollo and res. I had a carnitas torta loaded with mayo, lettuce, tomato, avocado, pickled jalepenos and topped it with their homemade salsa. Despite the salsa and jalepenos, it was not overly spicy. It was fairly mild (I'm not a big fan to 'too hot'). Next time I'll bring my own water bottle. They offer only sodas and horchata - which I will try one time. Horchata is a beverage made with rice, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. There are tables outside and in. It's definitely a hole in the wall, but you're guaranteed a great lunch (on the cheap!) read more

I've been to taco joints all over the place from Texas to New York. There are none better anywhere. The price is perfect, service great and it is one of Harrisburg's best kept secrets. My only beef is the hours are too short and the off season is too long! But I think that makes them even better...having to wait through winter....... I have not yet had the courage to try the tongue. Maybe some day. The carnita are a meal and a half. read more

Not gonna lie the area where the truck is located is sketchy and rundown.I sure hope they move the truck to a better location, but if you can look past that there food exceeds expectations very good. If it's already almost night time and ur thinking about going just stay home I would not go there at night. read more

Ahh, this is what we have been missing...We are originally from California and now spend our time traveling this country in our motorhome. Every so often we get a craving for good, authentic tacos. They are more difficult to find than you might imagine! So, it was with great anticipation that we headed out to Harrisburg for some sightseeing which included a lunch stop at this taco truck. We turned onto Maket Street, glanced down the street, saw the truck, parked and with a spring in our steps headed up to place an order. Now, Carnitas is a particular favorite of ours. Pork, cooked slowly and seasoned just right, it doesn't get much better when it is done correctly! We knew they would be good as soon as we saw the 'cook', she was about as authentic as you can get! We each ordered a couple of tacos with all the fixins and were surprised with how stuffed they were. They contained just the right ratio of fixins to meat to tortilla. The red sauce was an added bonus and not 'gringo'ed' down at all. After stuffing ourselves, we ate in our car, we headed out to finish our sightseeing. Thanks to all you Yelpers' for placing these reviews, without you we would not have gotten our taco fix. Now if you can just help us find Sourdough bread and Italian dry salami! read more

yes this place looks shady.... but I'm pretty sure that thats just a symbol of its legitimacy. The tacos are really good. The menu is short, but.... the tacos are reallllly good. Being from San Diego I have high standards for Mexican food, and this is actually my first encounter with authentic Mexican food in the area. not to say i haven't been to "Mexican restaurants" out here... but did I mention that the tacos here are good? You can get them with onions, cilantro, jalapeños, and salsa. I tried the pollo and carnitas... que ricos! go there! read more

waxing nostalgic for the taquieras and taco trucks in atlanta, we decided to give this one a try. We were not dissapointed! Huge portion and fresh flavors abound at this family run "restaurant". We had the beef, chicken and pork taco. all very good! served fast and fresh! read more

Great, basic, authentic tacos on the real cheap ($2.00-$2.50 each). These aren't meant to be fancy, they are meant to be basic filling food for lunch. This is street food, not a gourmet food truck. Giving it 5 stars because they deliver on what they are selling, and the base ingredients taste great. Four of us ordered 6 tacos (2 chicken, 2 beef, 1 pork and 1 tongue) and a tamale to share. All were great, we liked the beef the most. I got the tongue because this morning I heard a friend's 14 year old son had a tongue taco and really liked it. I liked it as well, but I liked the beef more. Maybe I will have to have more tongue tacos before I can appreciate them more. I will definitely get them again. Tacos are very basic - two fresh corn tortillas, a generous portion of meat, cilantro and diced onion. If you eat there, they have red (hot) & green (mild) salsas and peppers in the table. Not sure if these would make it into the to-go bag. After reading other reviews and checking out google street view, we decided to drive there and luckily parked just two cars away from the truck. Don't know if we would have parked more than a block away. Cannot say I would have been comfortable walking there from the capital area as others do, but maybe it's different during a week-day lunch. Enough of the negative, once we were there we were never felt uncomfortable. When we said we were going to eat there (as opposed to ordering to go) the locals got up from the outside tables so we could have a place to sit. We are all happy we went out of our way to grab some tacos here. Memorable experience for some authentic Mexican tacos. read more

Hate to be a Debbie Downer, but my experience was nothing like the nirvana I had hoped for from reading the other reviews. We bought both the Steak and the Pork Tacos. The pork was very fatty and the meat was just bland. read more

We finally checked out the Taco Truck after talking about it for over a year and...wow. I had carnitas and it was SO good, the pork was perfectly seasoned and juicy and the toppings of cilantro, onion and spicy (delicious) sauce made it perfect. For 2 bucks each, you can't go wrong. Can't wait to go back and try the other varieties. read more

I've been eating Don Eloy's food since he started selling his food from a hot dog cart. Then he had his own restaurant "Mexico Lindo" on Derry st (which was successful). He then handed the rest. over to his daughter and then she moved the place down to 2nd st before it became rest. row, and that was the end of that. Well, thank God he opened his taco truck. I have eaten Auth. Mexican all up and down the east coast and his carnitas are totally the best. He comes from Michoacan Mex. and that is were carnitas come from (Mexican cooking is regional). He slow cooks his meats for something like 5hrs. That is why the stuff melts in your mouth. His price has gone up to 2 bucks a taco, but with the meat he puts in one you could make two tacos easy. Only 4 stars, because he doesn't make the sopes that he used to make at the restaurant:) read more

We drove over 50 miles for these tacos and was totally worth it. Got the tamales and tacos and they were fantastic and the best I've had in a long time. read more

Admittedly, Mexico Lindo has some tasty tacos...but the neighborhood's a little scary. Still, if you're looking for some tongue or carnita, it may be worth the trip into the 'hood! Also, the horchata (rice drink) was sweet! read more

Sooooooo goooddd!!! Just had early lunch here and we are talking about legit mexican. Tacos de lengua (tongue) were super tasty, flavorful, and probably my favorite from the two. Tacos de carnitas were good and not dry. Tamales delicious and the hot sauce was just right. Will be back... Soon read more

Do not be scared of the neighborhood or the condition of the truck! The food is delicious and cheap- $2 for an authentic homemade taco is not too shabby. I usually get two and can barely finish them. Most often I have leftovers. The onions and fresh cilantro totally make these. read more

Their tacos are good, Im not a fan of trying to find them in the city so I normally go when they base out of Eisenhower blvd near the Dominos. I prefer the tacoshop as it's immobile so it's always there. read more

Damn good tacos and they give you a ton of meat. Got the lengua, carnitas and res (beef). Each one was awesome and I liked the ton of salsa they give you on the side (it was watery but still tasted great). Cash only, but it's like $2 - $2.50 for a taco. read more

I always enjoy the tacos here. My wife loves the tamales there. The horshata drinks are excellent too and I'm hooked on them. All in all, great for a delicious and affordable meal. read more

You can't beat a visit to the taco truck. It's authentic, it's reasonably priced, it's YUMMY!

I was passing through on a long drive and was really hungry, and the tacos here fit the bill perfectly. $2 for tacos (2.50 for tongue) and $5 for a torta (sandwich), but they only have carne de res (beef), carnitas and lengua (tongue). Although the price is a bit steep by CA standards, the tacos come with A LOT of meat. 2 made a very sufficient lunch. I found the carnitas a little too greasy, but the beef is perfect. The red salsa makes a great condiment and brings a good bit of heat. The neighborhood was slightly sketchy, but coming during the middle of the day was fine. read more

For "authentic" tacos in Harrisburg, it's A-ok. Not a lot of selection, but can't beat the prices. Location isn't the greatest, but the food is fresh.
