We headed over here for lunch after visiting nearby resort. After hearing about how this was a Boiling Springs historical staple, we gave it a visit. Unfortunately , it was very underwhelming, in food and in service. They were not accommodating with our young children, as no booster or high chair was available. We ordered "Mexican" food, but being from Texas, there was very little Mexican about it. The flavors were extremely bland. Taco salad did not include a protein, which for chicken was an additional $3.50. Steak would have been $4.50. Prices were steep for what it was. At least walking around the place was nice.

First and probably last time here... Didn't know how the seating and all worked so went inside to ask. Employee told us to go sit where we want and they would come out and give us menus shortly. Waited for about 10 mins and got tired of waiting so went back in for the menus. Got the menus and ordered. Food came out quick. I got Caesar salad wrap. Tasted cheap, the dressing tastes really cheap. If they would just get a better dressing the whole wrap would be better. The chicken in the wrap was too salty. But the chips were so bland and needs more salt. Iced latte was okay. Once we got the check, no one came back out to get the money. So once again had to go inside and pay. The servers and employees were nice but still not great service overall.

This is a small restaurant so could wait on a busier night for a table as they don't take reservations. The parking lot is attached to the side of the restaurant, there Is also a small outside area. The price point I think is a bit much for a Mexican restaurant. I got the sampler 101 for $17.50, I would have liked if the quesdilla that came with had meat in them, besides the quesdillas everything was very delicious. My fiance got the enchiladas nortenas for $16.50, he said it was good, however didn't feel well after eating it. I think ended with a caramel frappe for $6.25 which was pretty delicious. I'm not sure if I'd return the prices are pretty steep.

A little cluttered inside - "find your way to a table". Gotta navigate the oddly places seating in this old house. The prices are not cheap, but portions are generous, nice balance. Staff is a little aloof but super friendly and kind. Lots of drink and meal options ... eat inside or out.

Quaint eatery with a nice menu. The salad I had was hood but the dressing was a bit on the salty side. The young man that served me could have been better trained and more knowledgeable about the menu. I noticed a lot of people coming in for milkshakes which I did not try. The seating area outside was in high demand.

Hmm ... not sure what happened but stood in line wearing a bright orange shirt and nobody asked if I wanted anything. A large group of people came in behind me and the three people working the counter waited on them. Weird.

I've been here a few times now - sampling different items in order to find my 'go-to' dish...still looking;) Everything I've tried has been primo - on this visit I went with one of the wraps ...great again! Venue is terrific with a nice patio overlooking the lake across the street. Service has always been stellar as well. Note for first-time visitors, figuring out how to get seated is tricky ...currently you go inside to a counter near the kitchen to ask for your table. After that, it's pretty much smooth sailin' - wait staff has always been attentive albeit busy! There are a lot of great choices - may take a few visits to find your favorite!

Took my daughter out for dinner. Haven't been here in a while. Perfect day to sit outside, but those tables were almost full, so we opted for sitting indoors. Greeted sweetly by staff. Friendly knowledgeable waitress. We ordered blanco queso with tortilla chips for an appetizer, and cheese quesadillas and a chicken burrito for dinner. Delicious! But the queso was too salty for me after a few tries. I mixed it up with the provided spoon and it only seemed to get saltier, so I took the rest home for my husband. Really great place to enjoy. Reasonable prices. I recommend bringing cash to pay so you'll save 4%. Highly recommend this restaurant. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

Delicious specials and muffins for a hungry hiker! Stopped in on my way through town on the AT and had a great breakfast and free wifi.

My wife had the fish and chips. Food was good and plentiful. Service was very good, ate with some old friends, there was no rush, they gave us plenty of space. The menu is varied, specials are not typical fare, but also do not become science projects like so many "creations" do. The food is left to speak for itself. Affordable. Two small criticisms, can be loud in certain areas. They are very accommodating in moving you. The parking lot. Walking over the bridge can be an issue with cars. Worth the trip.

The broth is rich and deeply savory, the cheese pull is perfect, and the crispy rings add a texture you never knew the classic was missing. The pork chop remains the star of the menu--huge, expertly seasoned, and cooked with precision. It's widely considered the best in the city, and honestly might be the best in the state. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor, it's the kind of entrée you end up recommending to friends for weeks. Their octopus is another standout, prepared with surprising delicacy. Tender, not chewy, with a perfect char that adds just the right amount of smokiness. It's balanced, refined, and one of the most memorable small plates you'll find locally. And don't leave without dessert--the crème brûlée is phenomenal. Silky smooth custard under a flawlessly torched sugar crust that cracks just right. Simple, classic, and executed perfectly. Between the inventive dishes and the warm atmosphere, The First Post remains a must-visit for anyone who loves great food done exceptionally well.

More kind and accommodating on the phone than just about any restaurant I've ever called. We came in like a half hour early, over the course of 20 minutes, cause we were traveling in multiple vehicles from ways away... I called ahead, but they said it was no problem at all. They were super helpful, I got drinks started while the rest of the party arrived. Ordered a bunch of appetizers... Mozzarella, sweet potato, waffle, fries, calamari... With like three different dipping sauces. Each of those was fantastic. Folks ordered burgers, chicken, cheesesteaks, traditional fair, like cottage pie, etc. Quantities were massive. Food was tasty. Many to go boxes were provided. The desserts were a surprise... I got my bread pudding to go. And then a few people got the lava cake and shared it. Great beer selection. Great cocktail selection. Great music on the speakers... At least I thought so, the Young'ns weren't as impressed with the sing-along Classics. Our server was beyond helpful, responsive, kind, accommodating,; probably one of the best I've ever had... Is that possible? Big party, I didn't check the details on the check... and the large party tip was included already. So I gave her too much cash for the tip, she stopped me on the way out and wanted to make sure I didn't screw up... Which I did. So she returned a couple bucks. But she earned every every bit for a tip yesterday.

Picture it: Friday. 4:45pm. Snow falling. 28 degrees. And me? Standing in a taco shack parking lot…read moredreaming of warmer days when I'm sitting at one of their picnic tables pretending I'm on vacation instead of actively battling Central PA winter. Because when the craving for real tacos hits, logic and weather forecasts no longer matter. First things first -- parking is easy. Big stoned lot right at the shack. Love that for me. Second thing -- and this is important -- Little Mexico Tacos is CASH ONLY. I learned this at the counter, which triggered an immediate wallet excavation worthy of an archaeological dig. My goal: secure enough funds for a chorizo burrito and street corn in a cup. I found a $20 bill and decided to live dangerously. Plot twist #1: they were out of rice. Brief emotional damage. Apparently rice is a key player in many menu items, but I pivoted like a seasoned professional because when tacos call, you answer. Plot twist #2: my total came to $20.14. FOURTEEN CENTS OVER. I braced myself for the walk of shame, but the guy at the counter waved it off like the legend he is. Sir, if you're reading this, I hope your pillow is always cool and your tacos are always perfect. Also elite-level move: at freezing temperatures, he told me to wait in my car and he'd holler when my food was ready. That's customer service with survival instincts. Let's set expectations: there is no inside here. None. Zero. This is an open-air taco shack. If the weather isn't nice, you're eating elsewhere... or embracing your inner feral raccoon and demolishing tacos in your car. Now for the important part -- THE FOOD. Street Corn (mild -- because I specifically requested "no spicy chaos"): Creamy. Tangy. Fully sauced. Not bland, not overpowering -- just perfectly balanced. Also served in a cup instead of on the cob, which means maximum efficiency and zero mess - WINNING! Chorizo Burrito: Absolute unit. Packed with just-the-right-level-of-spice chorizo, huge portion size, and -- surprise MVP moment -- the tortilla was lightly crisped instead of being a sad floppy wrap straight out of a bag. Half of this thing could feed a small village. I finished every bite of the meat like it was my job. Bonus green sauce situation included (avocado? wizardry?) that I fully expected to melt my face off -- but instead it was mellow and delicious and paired perfectly with the chorizo. Final verdict: Little Mexico Tacos is the real deal. No-frills setup, big flavors, generous portions, kind humans, and the exact kind of taco shack energy that makes you feel like you've unlocked a local secret. I will absolutely be back when the weather warms up so I can sit outside like a civilized human instead of a burrito-powered winter gremlin.
