Another party had a woman finally flag down a waiter telling them no one has even taken their order. Where was upper management? It's not necessarily the waiters fault. Are they over-seating for short staff? The kitchen isn't keeping up with the orders, want to comp something from the bar maybe? One hours for food to come out is really disappointing. The food was good but not amazing or unique. The drink was suppose to be a blood orange old fashioned but tasted horrible so, probably not going to return for any mixed drinks. Walking in without a reservation, I got a table right away. The host and server were both friendly and very helpful. Within minutes, my order was taken. After asking a question about how dry the local hard cider on the menu is, my server brought over a taste. It's not too dry and very, very good. Order it. The mushroom soup was perfect. The parmesan chip on top made it pop even more. The smash burger was tasty. The fries that it comes with are thin, but very hot and delicious. Overall, I had an excellent experience here. For my entree, I got the oak sirloin and double mashed potatoes instead of veggies. This steak was cooked perfectly and like in the name, it has a unique flavor from being aged in an oak barrel. The mashed potatoes were also fantastic. I got carrot cake to go which I enjoyed in my hotel. It does have nuts, and I do prefer carrot cake without nuts, but other than that it was delicious!

Second thing -- and this is important -- Little Mexico Tacos is CASH ONLY. I learned this at the counter, which triggered an immediate wallet excavation worthy of an archaeological dig. My goal: secure enough funds for a chorizo burrito and street corn in a cup. I found a $20 bill and decided to live dangerously. Plot twist #1: they were out of rice. Brief emotional damage. Apparently rice is a key player in many menu items, but I pivoted like a seasoned professional because when tacos call, you answer. Plot twist #2: my total came to $20.14. FOURTEEN CENTS OVER. I braced myself for the walk of shame, but the guy at the counter waved it off like the legend he is. Sir, if you're reading this, I hope your pillow is always cool and your tacos are always perfect.
