Came for breakfast after the gym so I was starving! We ordered quickly and there was a good amount of people in there. I got a dirty iced matcha latte and a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit. Now, the biscuit sandwich was so good and tasty. However, my matcha latte was basically flavored milk.

    Chilaquiles Breakfast Burrito with chicken

I wish I would have tried this place sooner! I got the chilaquiles burrito with chicken and it was phenomenal! Good flavor and quality. The place is quaint but cute, the layout of the bar and tables is perfect, so you don't feel cramped or crowded. I can't wait to come back again and bring a couple friends to try more food and some of the latte options. Highly recommend coming in for a quick bite!

All around perfect coffee shop. Superb coffee. Freshly made bacon egg and cheese was perfect. Their menu is far more above and beyond other coffee shops. They have a full kitchen. Loved the artwork. Also love the progressive posters in the window from blocking ice to community events.

I stopped by Oromo one afternoon for a quick pick-me-up. The woman working the register was so…read moresweet and welcoming. I asked her for some recommendations and she suggested one of the frozen drinks. I'm so glad she did because I have been craving it ever since! They have a few frozen drinks to choose from, but I went with the cold brew + hazelnut truffle. It's made with housemade hazelnut milk, cold brew, cacao, frozen bananas, housemade coconut caramel, maple syrup, vanilla, and seasalt. Trust me-- it is just as heavenly as it sounds! I forgot to get photos of it because I drank it so quickly--sorry! The space is so cute inside and it's in a fun area to wander around, right in the heart of Lincoln Square. Can't wait to come back!

I wanted to love Oromo Cafe. I popped in for lunch during a visit to Lincoln Square, primarily…read morebecause the menu sounded fabulous - so many plant based options, including house-made milks. Unfortunately the menu overpromises and the food underdelivers, at least that day. -Lentil soup: good flavor, but very watery, more like broth than soup. The amount of soup barely reached a third of the way up the bowl, and the price of $7 for the bowl size was candidly just not worth it. -Beet hummus sandwich: again, good flavor, but I was anticipating a sandwich (as per menu description). What was presented was a single piece of naan spread with a thin layer of beet hummus, scattered with a few toppings. For $13 my expectations were higher. The beet hummus was delicious; with the goal of recreating this at home I asked a member of the staff about the ingredients. Unfortunately rather than saying, "I'm not sure, but let me check," they responded with "I don't know. I just started and I don't know most of the menu items." There is a lot of fabulous food in Chicago. Although Oromo Cafe is fine, I recommend saving ones dining experience and money for something truly fabulous.

We were crushed and at a loss for what to do. We waited on the couch, deliberating our options. After about 20 minutes, the restaurant was able to work us in! (Note that we were really lucky. A number of people came in after us but were turned away.) Service was fantastic, too. We ordered right away and didn't have a long wait for food and drinks. My friend and I had different glasses of Georgian wine; I had Alazani Valley, which was luscious. We shared megruli khachapuri and soko ketze (mushroom caps filled with cheese). Incredible. This was really one of those meals to never forget.

Definitely get again (not for my wife though, who doesn't like eggplant). Ajaruli: 4/5. Make sure to reheat thoroughly if you get delivery. Nice bread with heaps and heaps of cheese. I can see this being a lot more fun fresh. Honey Cake: 4/5. Sweet and caramel. My toddler and I gobbled this up quickly (not for my wife though, who doesn't like caramel). Julliene: 3/5. Cheese, chicken, and mushroom, solid but wouldn't be my priority to get again Soko Ketze: 2.5/5. Cheese and mushroom, but really that was it, so I got bored quickly. Not great value for $20.
