    Chirashi- $24.
    Dawn V.

They're down to a very small storefront with just a few booths- there once was a gorgeous larger restaurant with full sushi bar/high top and a happy hour everyday- Now it seems primarily focused on take out but if you get lucky, you can sit and eat too. I always order the chirashi at a sushi place because I'm fish forward- less add-ins- and it tasted fresh, delicious and presented well on a sturdy bowl of rice. ($24) You beverage choices are down to bottled water basically with the loss of real sit down dining- I assume the overhead was too much during Covid and take-out helped them survive.

I'm about to drop a truth bomb that just might break Yelp. Brace for impact: My first experience at Cafe Sushi was better than my first experience at Noble Fish. Periot. For starters, they were open when I needed them to be - no weird or random closures. Crooks and Maple, next to T-mobile. A very cute little scene (dining room currently closed), but I would hardly consider this a store front. Yes, the sushi counter/case is literally RIGHT in your face when you walk in - who doesn't want this?! They have no choice BUT to keep it clean! Everything was clean and fresh and right there to see. The lady running the place was polite and professional, no complaints. She said the order would be ready in 20 minutes, it was ready in 20 minutes. She greeted her regulars on the phone by name and even remembered some of their orders. The only disappointment was not being able to sit and experience the coziness and inviting feeling of the dining room, to no fault of theirs! I look forward to a day when places like this can fully re-open. And now, the food. 5 stars for freshness and quality. Not one SINGLE funky piece of fish. No weird strings of hard-to-chew fat in the salmon, you know what I'm talking about. I won't even try to go into detail. Just observe this fine work of art. This is what 20 minutes and $61.00 for a carry-out at Cafe Sushi gets you (miso soup not pictured). Now tell me this isn't worth it. I'll wait.

    Burnt egg roll

The food was okay. I ordered a caterpillar and an egg roll. The egg roll was burnt and hard as if it had been sitting for hours. I would not recommend.

We used to always frequent the Cafe Sushi sit down restaurant before they closed. Now they have a small place that's basically take out only. I thought the sushi was just as good. We got our favorite...The Block roll!! We really missed this roll. We also got triple spicy tuna, spicy California and crab Rangoon. Everything was great!

A very vast and roomy sushi spot. I liked the fountain at the front. The large bar was their sushi bar, tons of seats for a quick sushi meal. We sat in the booth and I headed to the bathroom to wash my hands. I nearly slipped and fell, but was able to catch myself. The bathroom floor was covered in this waxy or slimy film. I came out and informed the host, he barely made an audible or a head gesture indicating he understood. The soap dispenser seems rather delayed in the dispensing of soap. I had removed my hand after I heard the sensor kick on and had nothing in my hand and then a second or two after I removed my hand it dispensed the soap onto the counter. A few waitstaff running around. Our waitress seemed nice enough and took our order and brought it out as it was ready. We started off with the house salads with ginger dressing, then split the veggie tempura and 3 Cali rolls with added cream cheese and scallions, each were an extra $0.75 charge. The house salad was decent, all iceberg lettuce and the dressing was fair. My favorite ginger dressing hands down is still at Noble Fish. The veggie tempura wasn't bad but would have been nice to have a bit more sweet potato, maybe one onion and maybe one red pepper or something, it was rather heavy on the green beans. Dipping sauce is good though. The Cali with the Krab salad wasn't too bad, but could have used a bit more cream cheese for flavor and more scallions. I couldn't taste the onions at all in any bite of the rolls. Saw maybe 1-2 small pieces in a few of the bites was all. We finished and paid and headed out. I went back to the restroom to wash my hands and the floor was still filmy and dirty. The food is decent for sure, but needs some work on cleanliness to take it up a notch. And more variety of veggies for the tempura.

Pretty good sushi, but very slow service especially since they weren't busy on Monday night. Marlin and Vegas rolls are my favorite, wonton soup is a pretty large serving and is very tasty. Menu has lots to choose from including bento boxes which are a good amount of food. Lots of parking available, friendly service but a bit slow.

Pretty fantastic place! I went here for an early dinner today, was sat immediately, and loved the atmosphere! The service was fantastic and prompt, I wasn't rushed, drinks always refilled, she was very kind and helpful. The food was tasty, and in great portion, I normally can finish everything but I pushed my limits ordering two rolls here. Great presentation! Would totally recommend this place and I will most definitely be back!

12$ worth of tuna salad, what do you think about the portion?

After spending $12 on a tiny tiny tuna salsa, I decided no going back again, and not to mention that I heard the chefs talked loudly in Cantonese Chinese to each other in their open kitchen. Yes, the food is not made by well trained Japanese sushi chef. The food in general maybe OK here but definitely not worth $14.95 for a Chinese seafood fried rice dish , my fellow dinner. This is no authentic Japaneses food and way to pricy for Chinese food, I have to say , after all.

The miso soup came out first and was pretty standard. The Tako Su had large slices of octopus with plenty of cucumbers. It was decent, nothing standout. The gyoza was actually an accidental order because I thought I had ordered shumai. Looking back, I probably should've realized something was off when the server asked if I wanted them steamed or grilled. Ironically, they ended up being one of the better items. I took them home and even cold later on, they were still good. The sashimi appetizer had a nice variety and was probably one of the stronger dishes of the night. Unfortunately, the shumai completely missed the mark. It was very wet -- you can even see it in the photo -- and just not how shumai is supposed to be prepared. Personally, I think Asahi Sushi does this dish far better, including the sauce. The beef bibimbap was also disappointing for me. I love bibimbap served in a scorching hot stone bowl where the rice crisps up and caramelizes at the bottom. This lacked all of that. In my opinion, both Asahi Sushi and Sumo Sushi do bibimbap significantly better. If that's what you're craving, this wouldn't be my recommendation. As for the sushi rolls -- the S n T and White Tiger Roll -- they were just bland. Not terrible, not inedible, but very forgettable. Overall, my experience was okay, but nothing about it stood out enough to make me want to return. The servers were pleasant, but there were no recommendations or guidance offered, and the food never really moved beyond average. I ended up giving this place 2 stars for three main reasons: 1. The servers lacked recommendations or menu guidance. 2. The food overall was bland. 3. There are significantly better sushi options nearby. If you're looking for exceptional sushi, udon, and bibimbap, I'd personally recommend Asahi Sushi instead. It's only about 12 minutes away and, in my opinion, absolutely worth the drive for the quality, presentation, service, and overall experience.

The spicy chili garlic seasoning added the perfect amount of spice. And they even bring out extra spice to the table, if you need more! The fresh house-made noodles were cooked perfectly. The toppings -- marinated egg, green onions, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, and sesame seeds -- all came together really well. I added soybeans to my bowl. Not really much of an ambiance - it's a very casual place with pretty basic decor. Everyone working there was friendly and our food was brought out to us in a reasonable amount of time. I got the classic tonkotsu ramen and it was really good! The broth was flavorful and complex, the pork was tender, and the egg perfectly jammy. Apparently they make their noodles fresh everyday. The price of a ramen bowl was on par with what I'm used to (~$20 with tax + tip) but the sushi seemed a little pricey. I will have to come back to try it.
