This is an absolute must. Doesn't look like much from the outside, and it's also very simple inside. But the food speaks volumes! The owners are so kind and the fish was so fresh. We absolutely loved everything about it and will definitely be back

A tiny little sushi spot. They had a lot of different specialty rolls and the quality of everything was great. It looks like they do mostly take out business with just a few tables. The staff were really nice and attentive. We tried 4 different specialty rolls and all were great. The Fancy roll was especially interesting with the cooked salmon and sweet coconut shrimp. Not sure if it's for everyone but we enjoyed it.

Food was okay I didn't like the taste of the sushi but the shrimp bites are so good!!

Great Sushi - amazing flavor and presentation. We got the Dynamite Roll (2) and the Genki Roll. We also got the salmon sashimi which was also very good. It was nice to sit inside and eat, it was great service and nice inside.

Sashimi Naruto roll - light, fresh, healthy and delicious!

FINALLY!!! A solid sushi restaurant in the area! Very nice staff, chef/owner and fantastic, fresh sushi/sashimi, specialty rolls, and more! It starts with having the freshest ingredients, especially the fish! I've been fortunate enough to have lived and worked in downtown NY and Chicago, and traveled extensively. The other local sushi restaurants have not held up, Sushi King was excellent and I'm confident (and hopeful) they will continue to be consistently fresh and are now my go-to sushi spot! Thank you for opening in my neck of the woods

The staff are very inviting and friendly here, and the sushi was so fresh! I would recommend this spot to anyone. I've ordered a few times from sushi king and I must say it beats anyone around for sushi. Treat yourself and go check it out!

It's a large place with tables, booths or seating at the bar. The decor isn't much to write home about, but it's comfy and clean. I started off enjoying Red flying fish roe or Tobiko. Highlights from the table included: the Shrimp Tempura Hand Roll, the Spider roll and the Salmon roll. For me, the California King roll was the show stealer. Not sure how they were able to get such a fresh taste to the Alaskan king crab, but it's a winner! The service was terrific. Very efficient. I drink a ton of water, so I appreciate places that keep the glasses full and other curiosities. Keep in mind I'm no connoisseur, but I thought every roll I ate tasted great. It was the miso soup that got me. If it were possible, a bit gamey and too salty. Come try it, it could be just me! 10/25

Walking in, the place is clean, has ample seating and the prices are pretty much fair and on point. I scoured the menu and realized they have a nice variety of options to choose from. I was hungry but not dinner entree hungry. I started off with Miso soup and ended up getting 5 salmon niri for my dinner plate. Soup came out and was delicious and the Niri was fresh and very tasty. My server was fantastic and really knew his stuff. He checked in on me a few times and answered the few questions that I had during my meal. I would gladly come here again in a heartbeat.

Classic. Come here with my girls all the time…read more Kind staff, great food choices, and a very pretty environment!

We recently dined at Soho in Rochester Hills and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience…read moreoverall. Our server, Julie, initially seemed helpful when guiding us through the menu and recommending rolls. However, she suggested the Rainbow Roll despite us specifically mentioning that we don't like imitation crab, which it contains. She also recommended the Tokyo Roll, which ended up being nearly identical to the Rainbow Roll -- aside from the spicy tuna on top, they are the same roll. When the sushi arrived, it tasted extremely fishy -- to the point where we couldn't even take another bite. When we let her know that the fish tasted old and fishy, she literally looked at her watch and said, "Yeah, it's the end of the night," and then walked away, which was surprising and off-putting. We arrived an hour and a half before closing, but the staff seemed to be rushing us the entire time. Servers were coming to the table almost every two minutes trying to take our order, which made it hard to relax. We also asked for extra napkins at the beginning of our visit and never received them. I ordered miso soup and it never came out -- after telling her to forget about it, she later brought two cups anyway. It ended up being the worst miso soup I've ever tasted. Honestly, I didn't think miso soup was something you could get this wrong. The spicy edamame was undercooked but actually very tasty -- we loved the chili sauce it was coated in. The seaweed salad was average, but it was plated over a large amount of sliced radishes, which made it look like you were getting more seaweed than you actually were. For $8, especially after being reassured it would be enough for two people, we expected much more. The Seafood Yakisoba noodles were overcooked and the sauce was a bit too salty, though still edible. Overall, we left feeling rushed, disappointed, and still hungry -- but so turned off by the fishy taste that we didn't even want to go anywhere else to eat afterward. Hoping this was just an off night, but it wasn't the experience we expected.

The hostess seated us and provided menus. Their drink menu had a number of tasty sounding options, all at a good price so I ordered the Yuzu Sour. It was better than a basic Whiskey Sour, you could still taste its roots but smoother with a hint of pomegranate. I ordered the Veggie Gyoza app and the Veggie Tempura app. Prices were incredibly reasonable and the food tasted great. I see why they are so busy - this is a combo unheard of these days. Hubby got the Hand Roll Combo which came with Miso Soup. He really enjoyed it. This location is easy to find in downtown Rochester, although it's still metered parking in the street. I highly recommend stopping in if you are in the mood for fresh sushi for a great price.

Sumo Sushi and Seafood is located right on Main St. in downtown Rochester. There is street parking in front of the building, and a parking garage just a few minutes walk away. The sake flights are a nice way to try a few different flavors. I chose the plum, lychee, and mango. I loved the plum one a lot! If you order over $18 of food, you can choose between a complimentary miso soup or salad. For our rolls, we got the Spicy Crunchy Tuna, which I liked because the spicy tuna was mixed inside of the role. The Three Musketeers tempura roll had tuna, salmon, and yellowtail and was topped with spicy mayo and sweet soy. It was very delicious! The red dragon roll had shrimp tempura, cucumber, and cream cheese inside and was topped with torched salmon and chili crunchy garlic, which added a nice flavor to it. My favorite thing we ordered was the tuna tataki, which is seared tuna with ponzu sauce. The fish was very fresh and flavorful!
