For sushi, we ordered Van Dyke, Yum Yum, Christmas, and Adam. All were 5 out of 5 stars. Great flavor, seafood tasted fresh and delicious! We got the chicken teriyaki too. It was mediocre. Quite dry. I would not recommend unless you're into plain white chicken breast with teriyaki sauce on top. 1 out of 5 stars for me. The House Salad dressing is so refreshing and yummy. Sweet, tangy and gingery. It's the sushi rice for me. I'm cutting straight to the point. It was a bit mushy, no me gusta. Fish was fine, salmon and yellowtail were tasty but a bit thin on the rolls. I had a meeting in the area and wanted sushi for lunch. I read some reviews on Yelp and decided to give Hi Sushi a try. I ordered a crunchy roll and a California roll. I also ordered the tempura udon. There was 1 other person in the restaurant besides me so I was greeted immediately and my order taken. The sushi came out fast and I was a bit surprised by the 'crunchies' on top of my roll. The pieces were so large and not what I'm used too. All of the meat tasted like imitation. There was no flavor and just had a weird after taste to both rolls. The tempura udon was good. The broth and noodles were flavorful. The tempura veggies and shrimp were not. The shrimp were so skinny and they were tough. I peeled one because it was so tough I though the shell was still on it. The service was great and the udon was good which is why I gave 2 stars. Getting sushi at the same time is just bonus. The only thing keeping this from being a five star situation is the atmosphere. You're frequenting a small mom and pop shop, so it's not the fanciest place but I'll tell you what - some of the best Korean food I've had has been from little hole in the wall places like this. Instead, I received Sushi Set A, even though I was charged for the more expensive set, which comes with a california roll. I cannot eat imitation or real crab. Also, by the time the food came (an hour later, even though I was given an estimate of 30 - 40 min), the restaurant was closed so I was stuck with 6 pieces of nigiri and an entire roll I could not eat even though I had paid for 7 pieces of nigiri and a spicy tuna roll. Whatsmore, the nigiri tasted like beginning to rot fish, was heavily drenched in lemon juice, salty, and even having paid $30 for the food, I didn't want to finish it for fear of getting sick! Lastly, the shrimp shumai are really just tiny, tiny pieces of shrimp wrapped in wontons and steamed. They are itty bitty, about the diameter of a quarter, and you get 6 for $5.95. Tofu tempura roll (9/10): My girlfriend and I were so excited when we saw a chance at some Tempura tofu. This roll is very good, and after a few trips became a 9 when they added more tempura crunch! Avocado roll (10/10): Might be my favorite avocado roll in the area. Rice and avocado both so fresh, and I appreciate that it was not falling to bits. This place just opened about 3 weeks ago! My s/o and I live in the neighborhood, drove past the place and made plans to check it out. We came on a Monday evening for dinner. The place has a casual, laid back atmosphere. Good music playing (which for me means Sinatra!). We started with the shrimp shumai, which were very small, but good! They came with ponzu sauce. We then ordered sashimi and a few rolls. Sashimi deluxe- yellowtail, salmon, tilapia, and tuna- Very fresh, great presentation We got the Warren roll, Yoshi (because they were new to us) and an Eel and cucumber. They came with miso soup and salad. Salad had a lot of dressing on it, I had to take some off. We liked all of our rolls and the owner came and brought us over some samples too! Yum! Service was 5 stars. Our waitress was kind and attentive. Price was pretty average for sushi, maybe a bit higher compared to SushiBon (our usual go-to for sushi in Warren). Our new fav sushi spot! We came here on accident really - but it was such a great mistake. First of all, they give you a ginger salad and miso soup complimentary if you are dining in. They are both delicious. My partner and I and vegan, so the rolls we get are avocado roll, fried tofu roll, and fried sweet potato roll. They are all excellent, but my personal fav has to be the fried tofu roll; the batter is so crunchy and satisfying. The waitstaff is always so sweet as well as the people preparing the food.
