The service was friendly and helpful. We had the street tacos and the enchiladas plates, with a guacamole dip as an appetizer. The guacamole could have used more spicing/ salt as it was plentiful but somewhat bland. My wife enjoyed her tacos. I was a little disappointed in my enchiladas. I didn't like the texture of the fine dice on the meats or how this fine chop wouldn't stay in the shell. Each enchilada had a different sauce. That's OK, but both the red and green sauce was applied way too sparingly and left the enchiladas on the dry side. We just moved up here from Lubbock Texas and had a great texmex we regularly frequented. The meal came to $27. Will keep searching for the right fit. read more

A friend had recommended Cafe Sol to me at work the other day. I had looked over the menu and the churros called my name. Dinner was amazing. You order before you sit down so be prepared...lol Since I knew I was getting churros, I didn't get an appetizer, but next time will try their queso. We got chicken tamales with black beans and rice and chicken enchiladas with refried beans and rice. Both dinners were top notch in the flavors. The waitress brought us out their different salsas to try. I think Salsa Verde, salsa roja, habanero salsa and then the other "unnamed" green salsa. They were all outstanding, but the habanero was my favorite. The flavors were spot on. Then came the churros. Warm, crispy outside with a drizzle of caramel, with the softest inside with cream filling. I am so glad I ordered them. Definitely will be going back to try the rest of their menu! read more

Very wonderful experience from when you walk in yo sit down. Clean, and refreshing environment. Felt very appreciated being a patron of the place, the employee were very welcoming and informative with the questions I had. I ordered a loaded burrito with carnitas and it was very well balanced. Very good size for the price as well! My lack 5 star is my particular interest in carnitas and how it is prepared. This would vary for others but I like when my carnitas has a bit more flavor and has hit the grill and slightly crisped on the edges for the texture. Overall great and will be back. read more

As someone who's been a chef in food service for 40 years. I was very impressed how clean was Cafe Sol. Both front of the house and the bathrooms. I have left restaurants that have had dirty restrooms. We had the Supreme tacos with carne asada. And the fish tacos. Chips and dips. All of it was very good and tasty. My only complaint was they were delivered cold. But. They were tacos with all the fixings. We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more

After hearing so many great things about Cafe Sol, I decided to give a try today and am I'm glad I did. The Quesa-Tacos with carne asada were so good. The green hot sauce was super tasty too. I am way, way overdue writing this review. Ignore the one negative review. I have been going into Cafe Sol with my son once a week for the past several months. Yes, it's that good. This is a family run restaurant with great employees who don't let you down when the owner is away. This is the sort of family restaurant where you can relax, enjoy some great food, exchange a friendly word or two with the owner and his employees. Food is top notch. Service is top notch. You order and pay for your meal at the window before you sit at one of the tables. The staff is friendly and brings you chips, several salsas, all very good, and continues to check on you throughout your meal. Our favorite is the shrimp ceviche tostadas. They are spicy, very fresh tasting and wonderful. We also like the chicken quesadillas, and enchiladas. This place has the family signature sauces that are a stand out in Edmond, for sure! There's the original green, extremely flavorful with what I think is just the right kick, a new green sauce that's a bit tangy and sweet, and a red sauce with bite. If you've enjoyed a breakfast burrito at the food truck in Waterloo and Broadway, you're going to really like here! My personal favorites are the carne asada tacos and the pork tamales. Real traditional pork tamales! My wife enjoys their Al Pastor anything on the menu! My son wants to take their original green sauce home and add to everything he eats - teenagers! I got the chips and dip(salsa, queso, and bean dip) the salsa tasted like tomato sauce, the queso was queso nothing special, the bean dip was pretty decent. I also tried the tacos(chicken, Carne asada, pollo, and carnitas) they were all flavorless. The service and staff were both really nice and the experience was good. The food just wasn't. So yummy!! I had the birria and fish tacos- truly unreal. The fried fish in the fish taco was crispy and light... so dang good. We got chips and queso to start, that came with black bean dip and salsa- loved all the dips and sauces! Also think it's good to mention the chips were thick and not greasy!
