My spouse ordered the La Herencia fajita special and felt as if it was lacking. The steak pieces were minuscule and the shrimp was bland and undercooked. The pork chop was thinly sliced which was nice but VERY salty. We were wishing for more peppers and onions as well. Overall this dish was salty, but tolerable! It came with a side plate of rice, beans, pico de gallo, guac, sour cream & lettuce. Served with flour tortillas. We ordered the queso & guac while we were looking at the menu and waiting. I personally did not enjoy the queso. It was thick and had an artificial mouth feel. The guac was decent! Bland overall but I love the taste of avocado. I wish it had more lime and seasoning though since it was supposed to be Guacamole and not avocado dip. I ordered the Steak Mexicano with extra jalapeños and this was very good. Still on the salty side but I enjoy things on a SLIGHTLY saltier range. My spouse thought the steak was TOO salty. The peppers, onions, and tomatoes were nicely sautéed and seasoned. The rice here is also DELICIOUS. I hate a bland Mexican rice. The beans were good too but nothing to write home about. I do wish I was offered a side of corn tortillas. Overall this experience was okay! Not the worst but definitely not the best. The restaurant was beautifully decorated but there was a noticeable lack of music. My wife suggested Jimador Mexican Restaurant, and since we had enjoyed it once before--especially the guacamole--we were happy to return. The complimentary chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful, and the guacamole was every bit as good as we remembered. If you visit, I'd definitely recommend starting there. For our entrées, I ordered the lunch fajitas while my wife chose the taco salad. Unfortunately, neither dish was particularly memorable. My wife felt her taco salad lacked flavor and could have used more lettuce and cheese. I tried a bite myself, and I'd have to agree--it just didn't stand out. The lunch fajitas were decent, but they weren't what I expected. They contained much more tomato than traditional fajitas, which changed the overall flavor profile. On the positive side, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive, friendly, and kept everything moving smoothly. The atmosphere was also quiet and relaxing, making it an easy place to enjoy lunch. Overall, Jimador delivered on service, chips, salsa, and guacamole, but the entrées missed the mark this time. When we asked about the charge, our server explained that because my friend didn't order food, she had to charge him for the chips and salsa. While I understand that restaurants have policies, I tried to find a simple solution by asking if she could just add his drink to my ticket since I had ordered a meal anyway. She told me she still couldn't do that and said we would have to pay the charge regardless. What made the situation even more confusing was that she acknowledged chips and salsa come with a meal, yet there seemed to be no flexibility to resolve such a small issue. It wasn't even about the money--it was the lack of consistency and customer service. As regular customers who come here often, it was disappointing to be treated this way over something that could have been handled much more reasonably. A little understanding or willingness to work with us would have gone a long way. I'll continue to say that the food is excellent, and Carlos continues to be one of the best employees here. However, this experience left a bad impression, and I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled so loyal customers don't leave feeling frustrated.
