Steak taco and pork tamale 7/25/22

This little place seemed to be a pretty legit, simple, Mexican joint. I wasn't overly impressed with the flavors in my tamale or my steak taco. Very affordable and reasonably priced.

Best legit Mexican food around. Service is great with friendly staff. Ambiance is welcoming.

This was a great find. One of the women who works behind the counter graciously answered my questions about the menu and had such inviting, good energy. I ordered the flautas which were made fresh and the queso fresco was spot on. The chicken was lightly seasoned and deep fried crispy. The portion size was a little light so go with a burrito if you're starving, of course. A little smoky inside the restaurant.

Perfect! Completely authentic Mexican food. Pastor tacos are great. A must visit very small simple restaurant not much n the outside but very good food. Reminded us of food we ate in Mexico. It's a definite need to find if your into having an authentic Mexican experience

We love their Pablano tamales. The quesadillas are very good. All food is very reasonably priced.

I really enjoyed my taco salad and the service was excellent. They were attentive without being overbearing. I had everything I needed throughout the entire meal. What more can you ask for? Service was quick on a Tuesday night! I like that this is one of the only places that really stays open a bit later on the weekdays. The complimentary chips with salsa and queso were... interesting. The chips themselves were good but the salsa and queso weren't the best. I ordered the enchiladas verdes as my main and this was pretty good! I always love having a huge side of refried beans. I ordered the strawberry Agua Fresca and was not expecting it to be the milky/creamy type of Agua Fresca. I was actually really disappointed that it tasted just like having strawberry Nesquik milk. I guess that's my fault for not asking more questions about it though! Overall, the people are nice and service was quick! The decor on the walls is really great also. And tequila shots are only like $6 so it's not badly priced!

Ambiance: Very loud live music and chaotic in general. More chaotic than a standard Mexican restaurant. One visit, tacos were being cooked outside on a Santa Maria style grill. Food: Birria Tacos are the best thing on the menu. Cheesy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Topped with cilantro and wonderful consommé. The white sauce is a great addition as well as the green sauce. The Pin Wheels are not the best for the salsa. The salsa is mediocre and also spicy. The Surf and Turf Quesadillas are cheesy and packed with meat. The same meal as a burrito is good, but not preferred over the quesadillas. The Ceviche is out of this world. A heaping portion of perfectly citrus and not too fishy. The only meal that was not good was the Marlin Quesadilla. It was too fishy and tasted like fishy BBQ.

They have the robot that brings out food for you like at certain hot pot restaurants. The robot was not precise and it would stop at random table instead of the exact table where it should be. Could be because the restaurant is small for this robot or the set up was not good. Service was excellent. Server came to check on me four times. Plantains were great. The el mar which is a seafood combination dish and included lobster tail, shrimps, and a piece of salmon. The dish was really cheap, only $23.99. The shrimps and salmon were good. The lobster tail was not the most fresh. The meat at body end was soft/soggy. The mixed vegetables were frozen vegetables. Please never ever use frozen mixed vegetables. I would rather pay a little more for fresh vegetables. I didn't quite understand the use of salsa as there were no chips for it. There were tortillas but salsa and tortillas don't go together, am I right? Who knows? I didn't touch neither. This restaurant also has burgers, steaks, and pasta which I haven't tried. I feel like wether you give this a 4 or 5 stars all come down to what you order. An incorrect order will automatically knock it down to 4 stars. It is such a cool restaurant though. I wish Tulsa has something similar.
