If you are doing a run on Route 66 this is as good as any a spot to stop at. Green Chile Kitchen is a Tex-Mex style joint with a very small bar and a moderate sized restaurant seating area. It has a partially opened to view kitchen and friendly enough wait staff. Not a lot of seating so be prepared to wait. But it can accommodate larger group sizes with or without a reservation. The restaurant is incredibly noisy so be prepared for that! They have an excellent kids menu and some interesting drinks. Green Chile Kitchen is known for their innovative pies. So if you are a pie person, check it out! Food-wise, the Tex-Mex is average, with good size servings and moderate pricing. My enchilada plate was around $20. No frills, good food and good service. That's how I'd describe green chili kitchen. The chips and salsa brought to your table while you make food decisions is great! The chips are lightly salted and the salsa is tangy with a slight kick. Do your best not to fill up because the food here is large portioned and filling. I ordered the traditional enchiladas with Christmas sauce (red and hot green salsa, the hot isn't that spicy). The green chilis shined on the enchiladas. It's not even hatch green chili season as I'm writing this review but these tasted like it. I would have loved if the enchiladas had a bit more salsa on them however. Busy Friday night but the wait was shorter than expected. Great complimentary chips and salsa! The salsa was a standout: smoky, well-balanced, and not too salty. We also tried the green chile queso, which was super cheesy and flavorful (just eat it fast before it thickens). I had the enchilada combo -- huge portions and everything was delicious, especially the pork tamale. Rice was a bit bland, though. The biggest letdown was the margarita flight--it was way too tart and syrupy, and it only got better after the ice melted. The staff was friendly, and the service was good. Some friends and I ventured over to Yukon to try out Green Chile Kitchen. The service was attentive and the food was good. The salsa has a really deep smoky flavor. I had the chile relleno for my meal. It was cooked nicely with a crispy outside, but lacked flavor overall. We ended our meal with a couple of types of their pie. I can't even begin to understand why this place is popular. On a recent visit we waited 60 minutes for a table after being told the wait was 10-15 mins. When we finally got a table we waited another 10 minutes for someone to visit us. When we ordered drinks and the green chile nachos as a starter our server wandered off and never brought our drinks. After another 20 minutes the nachos showed up stone cold and we still hadn't seen our server. We flagged down another server to send back the nachos (they were gross) and she promised to send our server over. 15 minutes later (we still haven't even seen our server) somebody else walks by and asks if we need anything. "Drinks would be nice. A server or manager would be nice. " After waiting another ten minutes we got up and left. I am 100% positive that: A) I will NEVER go back. B) I will never recommend this place to anyone. C) My server was completely stoned out of their minds. D) They don't care one bit if you have a good experience or a bad one because there are 200 more people that want to eat here read more

Hey, hey, hey, wake up Oklahoma! Green Chile is a "must try" location. The green Chile ingredient is evident is most of the food items and it does make a difference. From the queso to the apple pie they are all delicious. New menu items are hitting a little different and worth the try. Stuffed Scrimp Sopapilla, I call it the 'SOS', is heavenly. Huge proportions and delicious to the last bite. Sides are seasoned and very good. Sweet tea was southern style, oh yes! The chips and green Chile queso are on a different type of time and are a meal in itself. As someone that used to live in Santa Fe, I LOVE New Mexican Food! The flavors are so rich and vibrant. I have been coming to Green Chili Kitchen since they opened and Im not sure how I managed to just now give it a review. The pictures are from 3 different trips all with good intentions of writing a review. I used to faithfully get the enchiladas but every once in a while the chicken has tasted dry possibly microwaved, you know that taste so Ive switched to the Chili Rellano. Filled with yummy cheese. Im a spicy girl so bring on the heat. I always order Christmas style so you get red and green chili. Ive also had their frito pie straight out of the frito bag similar to the five and dime in Santa Fe's Plaza. My husband usually gets the chicken burrito with mild green chili. He has said the same thing about the chicken and that funny taste but its not every time just occasionally. The queso is divine. Could bring home a gallon of it. Love their margarita flight! I was born in New Mexico and moved to OK in 9th grade. I've always missed authentic New Mexican food and red or green chili and I specifically enjoy a stuffed sopapilla. Always searching but never finding the perfect mix, usually Okies don't know how to make green chili stew or anything even close. This place nailed it!!! We were visiting our best friends in OKC and decided to make the short drive to Yukon and try the Green Chili Kitchen. All 4 of us were pleasantly surprised. My bf got the Tomas salsa so it was spicy , was very bland at first there was zero salt, once we added salt though it was pretty good. I've always cooked and eaten pozole and my Mexican bf loves pozole, unfortunately this didn't taste anything like pozole we knew. the enchiladas were like a mushy casserole, the beans kinda tasted like canned beans . Food was great more inline with traditional Mexican food. Recently just arrived back from Sante Fe and this is right inline with cuisine there. Both their green chile as well as red sauce are great with the red sauce leaning towards a mole, very flavorful and adds to any dish. I had the fajita steak smothered burrito Christmas style hot. The sauce is on the low end of the"hot" spicy but definitely delicious. The wife had the shrimp tacos and had no complaints and they looked good. I really enjoyed my dinner and drinks here. I had enchiladas and a coconut margarita which was one of the best ones I've had in the area! I have had the "open" enchilada before and I prefer the classic version. They have white queso which seems to be so hard to find in Oklahoma for some reason. Salsa was great and had a kick. Holy Mexican flavors in a small local way!!! We love about 15 mins away... First time trying. I had heard good things so I came with expectations. Started with the queso mild green Chile topper. Ordered the hot Chile on the side.... Delicious..and the ladies of the table thanked me. Just a heads up the hot is hot.... The beer I had paired well to beat the heat the chips and salsa were ok...next time I might try one of their kicked up salsas. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. In my perspective if you live near or short drive - Everyone must try Green Chile or You're missing out. I added some pictures. Thank me later.... My meal was the stuffed grilled chicken burrito with the Christmas sauce topper.... Very tasty. I ate a 1/3 of it and am excited about my leftovers. Similar to La Tertulia, this spot is not your typical Tex Mex restaurant. Rather, a lot of its food is New Mexican, which means there's often green chilis involved. I ordered the taquitos plate because of the waitress's suggestion... and it was bomb. Seriously good flavor with a nice crispy texture. The melted cheese and chilis on top paired well with the fried tortilla and meat. I could eat this weekly if I lived nearer! My mom ordered the new mexican frito pie, which looked both unique and delicious. She said it was really good, and something she's ordered a few times! I realize it's not Mexican food but we were really disappointed. We had the 3 taco appetizer thinking it would be the indian fry bread that is fluffly and crisp but the ground beef had little flavor, the beans were bland. The New Mexico layered enchilada had very little chicken and it was dry. The tortilla chips were hard. Service was poor. Felt forgotten except for the manager refilling drinks. Atmosphere...surrounded by trashy customers who were straight out of Walmart. The ranch waters was ok. This place did not have a full bar so just FYI. We were seated right after that and our server was amazing. He checked in, others walked by and checked on us and we talked to what looked like owners or mangers and they were super friendly. More than made up for the bartender. We split the fajitas with steak and shrimp and they were great.
