    Complimentary chips and bean dip

Great Mexican place in Bethany! I went here with a friend for lunch on a Monday. I looked over the menu and saw some good options but decided on the lunch special. The mole ranchero was delicious! Tender pork chunks, potato chunks, and Mexican rice with a mildly spicy red sauce. We started with a basket of homemade tortilla chips with bean dip. I tried one chip with some bean dip - crunchy and savory. I was saving room for the entree so I stopped there. If I were in the mood for crunchy chips, these would hit the spot. The entree was served with a trio of side dishes. Cucumber and radish slices, lime wedges, and pickled carrots with salted red onion. It reminded me of the setup that comes with birria at Birrieria Diaz in Bethany (minus cilantro). We also received some homemade corn tortillas. I didn't have enough room to sample them, but my friend reported they were delicious.

    Salsa for tacos

Came for dinner on a Thursday night. The service was kind and attentive. Restaurant is clean and aesthetically pleasing. Best and freshest guacamole I've had in Oklahoma City. Best horchata I've had in Oklahoma City. Great presentation and genuinely delicious. We see this becoming our regular spot.

Carlos is especially amazing--he's always friendly, attentive, and provides excellent customer service. Experiences like the ones I've had with him are a big reason I keep coming back. Unfortunately, tonight was a completely different experience. My friend only ordered a drink while I ordered food. When the bill came, we noticed he had been charged $11 for chips and salsa, which was shocking. We've eaten here many times, and chips and salsa have always been complimentary with a meal, so this caught us completely off guard. When we asked about the charge, our server explained that because my friend didn't order food, she had to charge him for the chips and salsa. While I understand that restaurants have policies, I tried to find a simple solution by asking if she could just add his drink to my ticket since I had ordered a meal anyway. She told me she still couldn't do that and said we would have to pay the charge regardless. What made the situation even more confusing was that she acknowledged chips and salsa come with a meal, yet there seemed to be no flexibility to resolve such a small issue. It wasn't even about the money--it was the lack of consistency and customer service. As regular customers who come here often, it was disappointing to be treated this way over something that could have been handled much more reasonably. A little understanding or willingness to work with us would have gone a long way. I'll continue to say that the food is excellent, and Carlos continues to be one of the best employees here. However, this experience left a bad impression, and I hope management reviews how situations like this are handled so loyal customers don't leave feeling frustrated.

Service was quick on a Tuesday night! I like that this is one of the only places that really stays open a bit later on the weekdays. The complimentary chips with salsa and queso were... interesting. The chips themselves were good but the salsa and queso weren't the best. I ordered the enchiladas verdes as my main and this was pretty good! I always love having a huge side of refried beans. I ordered the strawberry Agua Fresca and was not expecting it to be the milky/creamy type of Agua Fresca. I was actually really disappointed that it tasted just like having strawberry Nesquik milk. I guess that's my fault for not asking more questions about it though! Overall, the people are nice and service was quick! The decor on the walls is really great also. And tequila shots are only like $6 so it's not badly priced!

Ambiance: Very loud live music and chaotic in general. More chaotic than a standard Mexican restaurant. One visit, tacos were being cooked outside on a Santa Maria style grill. Food: Birria Tacos are the best thing on the menu. Cheesy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Topped with cilantro and wonderful consommé. The white sauce is a great addition as well as the green sauce. The Pin Wheels are not the best for the salsa. The salsa is mediocre and also spicy. The Surf and Turf Quesadillas are cheesy and packed with meat. The same meal as a burrito is good, but not preferred over the quesadillas. The Ceviche is out of this world. A heaping portion of perfectly citrus and not too fishy. The only meal that was not good was the Marlin Quesadilla. It was too fishy and tasted like fishy BBQ.
